Unfortunately the cvt internals are a lot different. So somethings maybe apply but other stuff not so much. I highly recommend googling inner pics of cvt transmission and then honda gsr trans internals. You'll see how they vary.
If the shaft at the torque converter side don't spin and seized even when cycling the shift lever on a automatic transmission is that normal? I haven't checked the output side the 4x4 differential is still attached....the diferential turns at different gears but can't tell if the transmission is turning its a toyota 340F automatic and my torque converter free spins clockwise and counter clockwise not sure if that is normal
Important question, does it need oil for the test or could the testing damage the transmission without? Want tobuy a v160 this weekend and I don’t want to dump 10 k 😅
How do you know if you are receiving the right transmission that’s going fit your car is there a number or something to look for on the transmission it self..???
How about a transmission with none of these tell tale signs that it's bad? I just replaced one in a 97 camry and it won't even select a gear. Only goes into park. Shifter is fine, differential is fine. All plugs on the outside of transmission were replaced and the shift solenoids were also replaced. No metal shavings in the pan or the plug and the fluid didn't smell burnt. What could be wrong?

Over here they have the cars welded to rims on the pinch welds so the wheels are off the ground. If you put it in gear you could spin wheels and listen for anything out of the ordinary
Great video, quick question, I did your spin test all my gears seem ok but reverse is weird. When I first put it in, it's like it's locked sometimes, I have to wiggle it back and forth hard and then it will spin. Really hard to move reverse compared to the others. Also it isn't locked everytime I put it in reverse but most times it is. Is this normal? Thank you

My transmission mechanic who is reputable is going to source a used one for my 08 accord with a 90 day warranty. Worth it?
