Excellent review of the crops. I am sure that once Brad and Phil see this they will know that they will be hitting the ground running once they get home. Awesome sun set.
MATT great video and drone footage as usual from you, the contours really stand out with the green of cereals. Congratulations to you and your wife on the new baby. Stay safe mate.
Another very interesting presentation. Thanks for taking time to prepare, edit and upload each of your videos, particularly as doing so takes you away from your family. Once again I think your selection of music is great. I also like your open shed videos which introduce us to other aspects to farming life. I’m not a farmer but to me your crops look to be progressing well. Unfortunately, it looks like your rock crop is also doing well. May your entire family keep well and prosper.
Careful Matt, you are doing too good job managing the place they all will get the impression they are not needed and not come home. All jokes aside it looks like you guys are having a great start to the season
I'm happy you're getting some rain this year. Hopefully you will have record breaking crops this year. From some of the shots of the cotton field, looks like you guys got a lot of the cotton broken up. The only way you could have done better is an old fashioned mowboard. Great update Matt and I never get tired of seeing a great crop.
Mate how good is that drone...it captures leaf movement as it flies...great work...great documentary of farming. Congratulations once again on a beautiful experience through hard work 👍the yellow is maybe nitrogen locked by the current wet conditions...wil come back as we warm
You should see our drone. It's autonomous and surveys crops and cattle with various cameras. Brad might like to get a salesman to bring one out and do a video on it. The data produced is almost magic and the analysis the software derives is amazing allowing us to micro manage crops, just spraying what is needed, etc, etc. Reduces labor and inputs. The cattle management is also quite good, identifying problems before they develop.
Loved seeing the big 'Chickens', great video footage.. Memories of them running wild in my teen years.. and at a farm an Uncle had purchased near Titybong. Previous owner had one that stayed at the farm.. it was like a flaming guard dog.. I remember bolting to the machinery shed with it chasing me then the pair of us circling about an Inter tractor till I could get ahead of it and climb up.. fierce mongrels when you are just 10 or so years old. Appreciate the approximate distances too.. makes it a lot clearer for those vids when you are 'convoying' equipment.. a lot different to the mallee with its mile square grids.. rare to have to travel more than a say 5 or 6 mile to another block
Matt , I once had the pleasure of flying over the north west coast of Tasmania in a helicopter it’s a beautiful sight with all the crops and red volcanic soil the pilot took us up to 5000 feet it looked like a giant quilt , love your crop updates, best wishes from Tassie
Your farms are looking gorgeous, Matt!! Especially from the drone!! Over the last few days, my wife and I have driven from Melbourne to Charleville, and everyone along the way, seems to be having a great season, also!! We hope and pray that it stays that way!! We were shocked, 😮 or should I say astounded, by the infestation of feral goats 🐐 on the sides of the road, between Cobar and Cunnamulla!!! We counted four million two hundred and fifty four thousand and twenty four😮 You better hope that they are not heading towards Moree!! 😂😂 I may have exaggerated the numbers a little, but if you could count 🤔 the unseen ones in the bush, I may not be too far off the mark!!
Hi Matt, I feel considering when you were planting it was so wet and problems you guys had, it has come up good. Like you said depends on rain as the crop grows. Wishing you all the best for your farming .thanks very much for the video. Thanks Stephen
Thanks Matt, that all made sense and was very interesting, the mud map helped a lot and the barley is outstanding but all round I am praying you all have a good season.
Well done, Matt! The geography part was very helpful with understanding the layout. I hope the weather plays ball and this great start gets you all the way to a bumper harvest that can take some financial pressure off and maybe enable some more investment to help make life a little easier!
Maybe an interesting talking point for here, or podcast or something. I'd be interested to hear how you feel it's working out with the lease blocks, development block, etc. When you took on the South lease block, were you concerned about the distance from home, and how has that been to farm it? When you took on development block, how long did you think it would take and how much it would cost to get it all up and productive, and how has that worked out for you?
Great tour Matt thank you. Hey over the last 3 decades in Agricultural Contracting I have seen and been up and down NZ and overseas and in my experience I would think your best results may be in the form of a power Harrow Air Seeder unit. The most consistent seed beds and germination I've ever had over the years was these units. I used every brand, 3m, 4m, 5m, 6m and a Kuhn 8m. Being able to get the tilth, leveling board and packer roller and have the seed going in at an exact depth on the same unit is an amazingly efficient unit. 8320r was my last one with an extra seed hopper on the front linkage. ?? Love to see you try it?
Two weeks in low temperature conditions is probably not enough time for weeds to die. It might take 3-5 weeks if they are not moving the chemical into their system. Things are responding to good growing conditions and good moisture. Later sown legume crops tend to be shorter for each week past their optimum sowing date. And bush chooks are doing well on the new feed.
Nice looking crop , Brad can place order for the new planter that he was looking at in Toowoomba field days 👍😉 Nice explanation of where all the various blocks are in relation to each other. Is there prospect of Jackson Brothers owning the lease blocks one day? Thank you for the video
My daughter walks in while you are drawing the farm map in the dirt...."Dad is he pointing at the ground with his "Angry Finger" ?" .... Why yes honey, but in the southern hemisphere, things are different. 😊
They're feral chickens, mate we use our F35's to try and control them. Our Drop Bears are worse but at least they don't attack the locals, only attack Danish tourists.
I never find crop updates boring Matt, there a highlight in fact . They all look great, but that barley is outstanding 👍
Agree matt this is not boring. Seeing a good crop punching up picks up the spirits.
Looking like crops are doing well and hopefully come harvest time you’ll have a good yield. Great video Matt with the drone
Excellent review of the crops. I am sure that once Brad and Phil see this they will know that they will be hitting the ground running once they get home. Awesome sun set.
I enjoy all the crop updates, planting, spraying, harvest, earthmoving and jobs for the spray tank trailer videos etc
Oh bugger, you definitely have some huge chickens roaming around mate, only in Australia 😮😮.I'll hate to see the eagles, 😅😅.
You should see the eggs 😂
@@duncanm6589 I definitely wasn't going to ask about those, ha ha ha.

Hey Matt nice update all the paddocks looking very good
Only finished seeding 2 weeks ago in the south east of south Australia. Very dry dust off seeder close to trees. Lot of frost to many spraying hard.
It's incredible how much work goes into farming! 💪

What drone do you have? I’d love to muck about with the big mapping ones but unfortunately there isn’t a big benefit for us yet👍
Crops are looking fantastic Matt. Love your drone work, always great viewing. Thanks for your efforts with all the content. Love this channel.
Ah you spotted this already. Just watching the bit you are rounding up the “chickens”😂 with the drone.
Closing drone shots are beyond beautiful!!!
Kudos, you have the feeling for filming nature!

I came across from Port Augusta to Cobar and up to Cunnamulla three weeks ago and I think you are at least 20 million short in your count.
Safe travels and yes those pesky goats are a problem, they can do as much damage as wild pigs.
@@FailedExpert6330 😁😆👍
Fantastic landscape on display in that drone footage, plus the skilled flying under the excavator arm 🛩🛩

Awesome breathtaking drone views 😍.

Good job guys

Nice one Matt, this is why some of us watch/sub/comment :)
Such an amazing part of Aus. Clearly it should be in QLD 😂 how do you guys go with pests and pest control?
Pigs are the biggest problem but there are a few ways they are dealt with👍
Hi Matt excellent video update how many acres are you farming all together thanks
I think it totals about 6500 acres👍

How far North east of Narrabri is the South Lease Block?
Morning Matt what sort of temperature was it when you were doing your walk about 🏴👍🏻
It was actually an unusually cool breeze all day so it would of been about 15 degrees c
Hey Matt, Did Rusty go on holidays too or are you looking after him?
He stayed back👍
When you say development block, what do you mean by that? Enjoyed the video not boring
It was a farm we purchased that was predominantly grazing country and we have been converting it to crop farming👍
When you say development block, what do you mean by that?
Is the Jackson brothers going to AG quip this year for meet and greet ?
Still working out if we do a meet and greet, we will keep everyone posted👍
All the crops are looking really good. Is the block where you live Matt all barley there?
Thanks for sharing 👍
Cheers, yes it’s all barley, only 80ha
@thejacksonbrothers Thanks Matt 👍

What type of birds were they at the beginning of the video? We dont have them in Denmark!

Emu’s. Big flightless birds.
