  • Legoland Reserve 'n' Ride: Is it worth the cost? Watch and you decide.
Reserve 'N' Ride allows you to reserve your ride in advance. When your reservation is ready your device or phone let's you know. Basically, the device is waiting in line for you.
For my family it's worth it. We go during busy times, since we don't live in California and the children are in school. Therefore, we go during school breaks or holidays. Children and long lines don't go together. I see parents trying to entertain or hold tired children in the long longs. Count how many parents are holding their kids in line. This does not seem to be a very good time.
I've never been to Legoland during the off season. Therefore, I can't comment on what it is like when the park is slow.
There are 15 attractions which are available for Reserve 'N' Ride.
Instead of waiting in the, you can do many other activities while your device is waiting in line. Some are listed below:
    - Go shopping for
    - Tour many of the Lego buildings and exhibits.
    - Go and eat food at the numerous of the restaurants.
    - Have a snack.
    - Have a drink.
    - Go other rides which do not have reservations.
    - Just sit down and rest
    - Take photographs
    - Make videos
    - Run and jump at the playgrounds
    - Trade miniature figures
    - Play carnival games
Note, Reserve 'N' ride can be purchases in three levels. Levels reduces your virtual wait time. The more the reduction the more the cost.
    - Express reduces your wait time by 25%
    - Deluxe reduces the virtual wait time by 50%
    - Ultimate reduces your wait time by 95%
Additional restriction, some rides can only be ridden once of for Express and twice for Deluxe. Ultimate does not have this restriction. The rides include Ninjago, Knight's Tournament and Deep Sea Adventure.
I have bought reserve and ride twice during winter break. We road trip over to San Diego, California and Legoland for vacation each year. The first year, we waited in line and had to entertain and hold the children. Kids, wife and I were tired and exhausted from waiting in lines. The second year, we bought the Deluxe package and we were almost racing to the next ride. The third year, we tried the Express which is the cheapest option. Even with the Express pass, were were able to ride all the rides.

For some reason, I couldn't get a straight answer on any of the blogs or youtube videos on this one. We got the deluxe ($55) for all 6 in our party and that was perfect for us. With reserve N ride, you still wait, but you don't wait standing in line. Say it is noon and the wait time for the standard line is 1 hr long (it was rarely that long for any of the rides when we went in June), you reserve N ride in 30 mins. The reservation is literally is just a count down clock. When you click reserve on the app, a clock shows a count down from 30 mins (most of the time for it was 15 to 20 mins) Once clock hits zero, you get a QR code and it doesn't expire. For those 30 mins, we took pictures, look at pictures, check out the figures, check out the stores, eat a snack, use the bathroom, use the playgrounds or just take a break. Then we strolled over to the ride and basically cut to the front of the line like you see in the video here. Repeating this, we did 12 rides in 9 hrs, and since we never had to wait in line, the experience was very layback and enjoyable. I feel like the reserve N ride is a must have to a good experience there but even the $35 should get the job done. Because basically it is just a count down clock of 20 to 30 mins. And since you can book the next ride as soon as they scan you in for the current ride, there were a few times, the QR code for the next ride was ready before we were ready for the next ride as we were still walking over.
Side note, the unlimited picture package is not a bad deal if you always get sucked into buying a picture anyways, but be aware the picture quality is not fantastic as it is only 4.3MP. But for $30, it is not bad to have the ability to download or share those pictures rom the rides. I found Universal Studio and Safari park had similar picture quality. Disneyland is the only one that had high quality (21 MP) that you can blow up to make large prints. Since no one prints pictures anymore anyways, it might not matter to most, but just something that wasn't really talked about on any of the reviews or videos I saw.
