This was a reference to the Christian stop-motion animated series _Davey & Goliath,_ which was created by the same guy who did _Gumby,_ about a boy and a dog who only talked to him. And whenever the boy had a bad idea, the dog would say, "I dunnoooooo, Daaaaaaaaaaavey."
I used one of the first simpsons episodes ever for a grad school class. It was the Dr. Monroe family therapy and I had a family counseling class. Got to talk about how Dr Monroe would fail miserably with almost any family especially the aversive shocks that blow out the whole towns grid
0:13 Serves Carl and Lenny right for not letting Homer use the water dispenser and spoiling the Radioactive Man Movie, friends don’t spoil movies to friends who didn’t see the movie, and the don’t deny friends access to water dispensers.
"Goliath II" is parodying the two deaths of Goliath in the Bible (the second time in 2 Samuel 21:19 at the hands of "Elhanan"). Biblical literalists attempt to reconcile this by postulating a second Goliath, even though this second Goliath also has a "spear like a weavers beam" just like the first.
The Krustys joke was funny but I liked it better in 'our' version, when he says 'not sayin that Mary Magdalane was a bitch, but before she moved into Sodoma, the city was famous for its pottery 😀!
Jisebel lived many years after king David during Ahabs dynasty and mr. Metusalah had died hundreds of years ago. Also Goliaths son would have probably not been giant( 2,70m), if he had one, because it would have required Goliaths wife to be pure anakian. Enough of being smart arse for this day.
This is honestly one of my favourite episodes of the whole show. I have no idea why.
what's it called

How small was that knife to Goliath?
So since Homer is Solomon, does it mean that he got Marge’s former husband murdered?
That's King David (Bart's character).
Let my proclaimation go out across the land... Who bought it

Ah yes. Always find Reverend Lovejoy one of the few irritating characters in Simpson lol.
Which is a testament how good the writing is lol

1:18

Because your teacher was cool as shit.

I don't know Davey
lol.
Quiet you 😠
why would a giant use a knife? how did i miss that all these years?
Spellbinder To cut stuff. What am I missing?
Because a giant sword is a lot more useful than large fists. He was I believe around 9 feed tall. Not huge enough to not be injured by a sword.
Spellbinder
To open the giant clams, Duh!

How on earth would Goliath be able to impregnate any women who wasn't a giant (Anakian)?
You seem fun.
