Can you use these with a kayak? I have been trolling a small lake by paddling for exercise. If I'm on the water, I may as well be fishing! I've been using torpedo lead and worm rigs for walleye. Pain in the ass to get the depth.
Hi Capt Ross. Love your videos. I do have a question on what size of dipsy divers you reccomend for walleye. I see there is a bunch of options and what my best option starting out would be. Thanks
Dipsy size is dependent how quickly/ length of line out you want to get down to depth. Many people including myself prefer dreamweaver dipsy divers. They have charts on their website that give depth. I prefer 82mm and 107mm. Just be prepared the 107mm will pull like crazy so you need to have a rod and reel that can handle that size.
You mentioned 20# Flouro line for the leader from the diver to the Lure. What brand line exactly are you using? Is is Flouro Fishing Line or Flouro Leader Material? Thank you for the great videos
Hi I never used Dipsy Divers before but thinking of using them here in Ireland for pike and lake trout, my question is have they ever been used for them Species and do the colours of the divers make a difference?
Would you go over when you would use dipsy divers vs planer boards for walleyes? Outside of dipsy’s being larger more intrusive is there a major reason to use one over the other?
Ok, can I use a snap swivel to connect my mainline and a snap swivel to connect to trip lever, and just a snap connection to my lure. Ive seen some use snap swivel on both sides of diver
Great video. I have a question? I fish mainly the central basin, from conneaut harbor to walnut marina in pa , my question is usually most people fish from sun up to mid afternoon, or when they limit out, we were thinking about doing a afternoon trip , have ever had a good afternoon trip , or should we stick to a morning bite ?
@@Bigwaterfishing thank you for your reply, correct me if I am wrong , I am a newbie at this with dipseys, if fishing port side you set dipseys at a right setting, and starboard at left setting. right.
@Bigwaterfishing by the way I am a huge fan of yours! The first video I ever saw of you, I was thinking man this guy is arrogant. As I kept watching your videos I realized that your really not. Your just telling people look if you wanna catch fish do this, if you don't then don't do it. Simple and to the point. I've also had quite a few laughs at your videos. Put it this way, I've all but quit watching Tom Boley. I love that you still get excited when you're fishing and i absolutely love that you mess with whomever your fishing with. I do the same. Thank you for being on here, doing what you do for all of us aspiring walleye fisherman. Keep putting them videos out! ~Blair
I love 100 foot fluorocarbon lead behind dipsys. Deadliest presentation around!
Would this be like a 100ft leader after the dipsy? Can you detail the setup exactly cause it sounds pretty dang good 👍
Very well done, and getting right to the point, and numerous great tips. Thanks
Thank you for taking the time to make this very informative video sir.
Great info thx!!

Yes, but you probably want a sturdy rod holder
Great tips, thanks
Glad it was helpful!

Super helpful!!
Hi I never used Dipsy Divers before but thinking of using them here in Ireland for pike and lake trout, my question is have they ever been used for them Species and do the colours of the divers make a difference?
So you would want to connect your braided line to the dipsy diver and then your fluorocarbon as your leader line? Thanks
Yes
@@Bigwaterfishing How many pounds fluorocarbon would you need for kings? Also, can you use that same pound test for coho , kings etc ..... Thanks!
Most salmon and trout guys use 20 to 25lb leader material

Long answer....simply put dilsy get deep quick and let you spin back on a small pod quicker
I usually use both together in late summer and early fall
Awesome makes sense. Thanks

Why don't you use snubbers? Do you only use a snap at the lure end of the leader or do you use a snap swivel for spoons or anything?
No need 4 snubber...snap only for all lures

What size tekota are you using in this video?

Curious what rod you’re using in this video? I have my 500s already, but need a rod for this tactic. Thinking compre or talora.
