Girlfriend, I love all outfits. McCall’s 8138, 8031, the powder blue rib knit, and Simplicity 9175 are my favorites for me. I’m going through breast cancer and mastectomy, so I’m trying to get comfortable in my clothes again. Everyone says I look the same before surgery. It’s a mind thing lol. You are so inspiring to me. I have to say the Green Shirt Dress is my absolute fave. I love the color (my eye color) and wear it often. I bought a pair of suede ankle boots in that olive color!

You did look great in each and every outfit but my favorite was the raw silk shirtdress. I had to chuckle at hearing your task, to use the patterns and fabrics in your stash. I've started trying to use the patterns and fabric that my mother left😏

My favorite was the green silk shirt dress. ❤ The runner up was the dress with the wrap front.😊 I own the pajama pattern but I’ve only made the pants. The pants are comfortable, especially for lounging. I love that you did with that pattern too.

I love how you transformed and combined patterns to fit your vision and how you work around the limitations of fabric, etc. I also make and wear long dresses and I adjust patterns to fit my style. What I love most about your collection is that your final outfit looks so different from the pattern picture, and nicer because you blended in your splendid taste and you picked and arranged the fabric for the most wonderful effect. The blue dress with the laterals tied in front, excellent pick! I’ve had my eye on a similar pattern from Burda, now you convinced me to make it myself:) Your birthday dress is stunning! Honoring your grandmother who probably passed the talent to you made me think of my own.
Love the Burda checkers dress with diagonal fabric on pockets, you did a fantastic job matching the lines perfectly, I always strive to achieve this!
Each and everyone of your pieces looks better than the model on the pattern. The green silk dress is gorgeous! And I bet you felt like a queen in that lounge pj, lovely choice!
One last note: you model the outfits very well with the pictures on the sides and the movement in front, everything works fantastic!

Gosh, they ( the pattern envelope companies like Simplicity, McCall’s, Vogue, Butterick, etc., should use YOU as the model for the pictures on the pattern envelopes.

All of the outfits are gorgeous. Your New Year Eve’s pajamas are a perfect way to bring in the new year in style. 🎉. But, my favorite has to be your birthday dress made to honor your Grandmother and her hat! Stunning and very elegant.
I do have two quick questions for you. When you sew knit fabrics, do you use a sewing machine or a serger? Also, do you ever make hats? I have seen cute patterns using wool fabric and I was wondering what your thoughts were on them.

Thank you so much. Sometimes I sew knit garments with my sewing machine and used the serger to finish off the seam allowance. Other times I sew the entire garment with the serger. It depends on the type of garment, the details involved, and my time frame.
I have made a couple of hats in the past. I enjoyed the process and will probably make them again in the future.

You will have to sign into Simplicity to get the sale prices. Here are the sale prices: New Look, $2.99; Simplicity, $4.99; and Burda, $5.99. The sale price will be reflected in your cart. The sale ends on 3/14 and includes all of their new Spring patterns. I ordered quite a few patterns and thought I would pass the savings on to you. Several weeks ago I ordered the Simplicity catalog, which is the full catalog like you see in the fabric store. I have had so much fun going through it. I haven’t purchased any patterns in years and I had sticker shock when I saw how much they cost. So, the discount was a welcomed surprise. Have fun sewing! 🌷🌷🌷
Yes, the pattern prices are totally elevated from the days of old when I first learned to sew in the early 90's. I never buy commercial patterns from the Big 4 companies without a sale price. I refuse to pay that much for a pattern. Unless, of course, I'm in a pinch and want to pattern that bad. 😆
