Our Place, Our Time

The week celebrating the investiture of M. Brian Blake, Georgia State’s eighth president, began with the President’s Day of Service at the Clarkston Campus and culminated with the Investiture Ceremony at the newly opened Convocation Center. The ceremony, the first large-scale event at the Convocation Center - a ribbon-cutting for the new facility was held Thursday, Sept. 15 - featured remarks from University System of Georgia Chancellor Sonny Perdue. Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens and former Atlanta Mayor, former U.N. Ambassador and civil rights icon Andrew Young.
The events highlighted the university’s four strategic pillars - research and innovation, student success, college to careers and identity and placemaking.
