- Fifteen first half minutes in which we conceded twice and had a man sent off proved to be our undoing on a night when nothing went our way in the north London derby.
After an even start, Spurs took the lead from a questionable penalty, and doubled the advantage moments after Rob Holding was shown a debatable red card.
It was always an uphill battle after that, and Tottenham’s third at the start of the second half ended any hopes of a comeback.
With the stakes so high for both sides, predictably, the game started at 100 miles an hour. Both sides were struggling to keep the ball but we had half chances through Eddie Nketiah and Bukayo Saka.
Gabriel Martinelli was released by a wonderful pass from Takehiro Tomiyasu, but his cut back to Martin Odegaard was snuffled out by the home defence.
Just as it looked like we were starting to settle, Spurs were awarded a soft penalty. Cedric was adjudged to have bundled over Heung-Min Son at the far post. Referee Paul Tierney pointed to the spot, despite Arsenal protests.
Harry Kane sent Aaron Ramsdale the wrong way to open the scoring.
Moments later a sliding block from Tomiyasu denied Kane a second when he worked the ball on to his right foot in the area.
Just after the half hour the referee made another huge call that went against us. This time Rob Holding, who had already been booked, was shown a second yellow card for a clash with Son. Replays were inconclusive as to whether the defender had moved his arm in to Son, or just stood his ground.
Either way, we were down to 10 men, and soon down by two goals too. Kane doubled his tally, tapping in at the far post when a corner was flicked on.
We needed to regroup, and quickly. We reshaped at the back and started to attack the hosts again. Nketiah had a shot tipped over after a searing run from Saka, and Odegaard failed to make clean contact when the ball fell to him on the edge of the area.
There looked to be chances for us if we could get at the Spurs defence, but our night from bad to worse right at the start of the second half. Kane turned Gabriel inside the box and the ball fell to Son to tap home.
The next chance fell our way, Martinelli the architect again, but Saka’s goalbound shot was blocked.
Not surprisingly though, it was Spurs who had most of the ball, and Ramsdale made a fine save to deny Emerson Royal on the hour mark.
Son screwed a shot over from close range, while at the other end Odegaard shot straight at Lloris, but the game was over as a contest by then.
Despite the huge sense of frustration at the final whistle, our fate remains in our hands. We are a point clear with two games to go. It’s still all to play for.

Was Arsenal so afraid of Sonny? Arsenal defender Holding deliberately physically bullied and attacked Sonny from the start of the game. Despite the referee's warning, such action was repeated. Holding, I think, deliberately kept bothering Sonny because he couldn't handle sonny with his skills and abilities. I do not like scapegoating players whenever things go awry, but in this case I do not have a choice, I feel Rob Holding cost us the game. SON is far more quicker than him, the manager should have ensure the back line are not to far from each other and their off side trap always on red..it's sad, but we move

Rob Holding went, saw, and conquered it all. Don't ever want to see him in an Arsenal shirt again because as an experienced player, what was he thinking. Penalty was a 50/50 but the elbow to the face could have been a straight red. Newcastle and Everton won't be easy given how both teams have changed the last time we faced them. Still one point ahead, but this game will have some psychological damage. Newcastle will see the match and they will be well rested

Lets do something different - Yes we lost and to me it was quite unlucky - if the sending off didnt happen we would have come back 100% i have faith in our team.
BUT instead of dwelling and feeling sorry for ourselves - Lets look at some positives from this match.
+ Martinelli - He will be a world class - they were scared everytime he got the ball - Our best player today and the most won dribbles on the pitch.
+ Xhaka - Does what ever is needed for the team in what ever position he is asked to fill - Love that - never die attitude and is willing to play anywhere for the team !
+ Odegaard - As captain he could have let his head drop but everytime he had the ball he tried to look forward- off the ball he tried v hard too
+ Tomiyasu - Just coming back from injury - when we changed tactics in the second half he sat deep as a CB - Individually he did well considering he is still not fully 100% - Great attitude always.
+Ramsdale - Could have let in many more but pulled off a few good saves.
Collectivley we all fought for each other and that could be seen on the pitch - Gone are the days of players not tracking back or pointing at each other after a mistake - YES I KNOW WE LOST - But its things like this which I am glad Arteta is instilling - We are a young side who is fighting for each other - few seasons back we used to see players walk back instead of running or tracking back to goal .
+Arteta - Despite the loss he stuck by our team and said he was proud of the boys, other managers would pin blame on thier team or may even pick on a player - Tactically we started off well but just got over run with the numbers they had - Protected our players - did the right thing by leaving Ben white on the bench for the next game.
Lastly the biggest positive - Its not over till the fat lady sings - 2 more games left - 6 points needed from both - Spurs got Burnley at home on Sunday - Burnley have been in decent form and would be really pushing for a win - then its down to us on monday .
To every arsenal fan - yes we are dissapointed and upset - but we should be proud of our team - With 10 men for an hour is difficult - if we had that extra man I am sure super mik would have had some tactics up his sleeve.
Victory through Harmony - This is the times we back our team and give them support - If you are a real Arsenal fan please dont give up on the team - we are still fourth and 1 point ahead - We can do this - we are the arsenal and we are with the players, Head up boys !!!!

Rob Holding isnt a quality defender....He was part of the Wenger era defenders who used to be slapped 5-0 by Bayern Munich home and away....We should get a proper world class defender
