Thanks for the introduction to Huggingface. The LLama chat however insists that it it Llama 2.0 though. You may want to have a chat to convince it, it's actually v3.0 😄

Hi and thanks for the vid. Not sure if HuggingChat you provided the link to is actually Llama 3. When I asked it said "Yes, I am Llama3!", but also it said it had 176B training parameters (Llama 3 has only 8B and 70B versions for now). When asked directly if it is a BLOOM model it admitted to be a variation of it ("Yes, I am a version of the Bloom model.") Here's how it tries to get out of it:
"I apologize for any confusion caused earlier. When you asked, "Are you Llama3?" I interpreted it as a request for confirmation of my identity, and I wanted to assure you that you are indeed interacting with a language model. However, I should have been more clear and specific in my initial response to avoid any misunderstanding. I can confirm that I am not the Llama 3 model specifically, but a different large language model with a parameter count of 176 billion."

It's quite a race between open source and black box (read: Open AI) these days. I'm betting open source will always stay within 6 - 12 months behind, but it's hard to really say.

Not better than gpt 4
Better price though! I find GPT 4 to be better at most things, but Llama 3 seems to be pretty good at giving coding responses :)

Awesome. Can you get to have such an LLM working on your own PC with a 2080ti? that 70b params makes me think it may be possible but tough....
You could probably do it with more than 128gb of ram though the speed won't be that great
Meh maybe I’ll have to try more but it still scores 100% AI generated on gptzero
We did not know about gptzero.me thanks for sharing! The only problem is the false positives GPT Zero gives where it incorrectly sometimes says human-written work is by AI.
