Spanish has a much smaller sound inventory, less than half the number of sounds that Colville Salish has. Salish also has a lot more consonant clusters which Japanese and Spanish speakers don’t like e.g. ƛ̓kʷpčin̓tn̓(fork) has seven consonants and one vowel
