    I am so thrilled to have found your channel and blog! I live in the Mohave desert zone 9B/10A and everyone is telling me that I am going to fail at gardening in this heat. I started a couple of months ago and so far so good just had some bush beans die. Thank you for the encouragement and showing us that it can be done :)

    I have searched and searched for good garden advice for zone 9 and it's frankly pretty hard to come by! Definitely subscribing to your channel. I just bought the complete planting guide and it is AWESOME! Unfortunately a little late in the spring for a lot of the cool-season stuff I love, but at least now I won't panic when it all bolts! haha! I'll just collect those seeds and try again in fall and focus more on those heat-tolerant crops for now.

      im in zone 9b in modesto and i had the worst season for 2022 ever. The heat stunted everything! I got practically no tomatoes at all out of like 9 plants and this year i put them in the ground, every year before I did them in pots and had way more....Not sure if it was the soil and the weather or what but it was horrible and not worth the investment :(

    True on the watering especially specifically because my first attempt a couple years ago I quickly learned about hydrophobia. I don’t have money for any slow drip system but I try my best with not just flooding plants.

    Is a planting guide for 9b in Florida same as maybe a 9b in Texas or Arizona?

    • @AudreysLittleFarm
      @AudreysLittleFarm  Рік тому +1

      Hi John, each state will vary slightly as far as which exact varieties do best but the the planting dates will be a really great guideline no matter which state you are in. I am in CA zone 9b.

    I planted from seed about a month ago eggplants and peppers but they started having a whitefly issue so I sprayed water and vinegar and the leaves died. Will they survive? They were looking so good

    • @mesterak
      @mesterak Рік тому

      Vinegar is an acid, so it’s possible you made the soil too acidic and it killed your plants.

    Audrey, please tell me which tomatoes you grow. Mine just die from fungus

    • @AudreysLittleFarm
      @AudreysLittleFarm  2 роки тому +5

      Hi Jenny, do you grow heirlooms? They are usually the most susceptible to disease, fungus, pests, etc. I've had really good luck with hybrid varieties, a few that do best for me are, Early Girl, Better Boy, & Celebrity.

    I don't know if it is the heat or another issue, but my Zucchini plants are beautiful, with plenty of buds, but the zucchini vegetables grow to about 2"-3" long, and then rot on the plant. Any words of wisdom? Very frustrating!!

      @lilij8988 Рік тому +1

      Are you supplementing calcium? That seems to be the issue when that happens to me. You might also try trellising them so they don’t sit on the dirt.

    • @deanfletcher8284
      @deanfletcher8284 Рік тому

      @@lilij8988 Actually no, I'm not supplementing with calcium. Do you have a recommendation for a product to use?

    • @AudreysLittleFarm

      I recommend buying it as an already started transplant and then after transplanting it’s very easy. I have mine in mostly shade and I hardly water it and it still grows great.

    Hi Audrey, I live in Santa Rosa and have never gardened before. I would love to start though! My soil is full of clay, can you recommend how to amend it so I can be ready for beginning my first garden? 🪴 Would definitely love to purchase your plant guide too-thanks in advance 🪴

    • @AudreysLittleFarm
      @AudreysLittleFarm  Рік тому

      Hi! So sorry for the late response. You can mix in a variety of amendments such as compost, peat moss, and perlite. They would all help quite a bit! I also have a Fall Gardening Course inside of my membership that would be really helpful for you if you'd like to get a fall garden going this year😊 You can learn more about it here, audreyslittlefarm.com/yt-fall-garden-challenge
