I didn't think I would like the subject matter being an old man in my late 50's,but after you explained what could be learned doing them I realised that my daughter and grand daughter would like them. I send all my finished pictures to them as cards or letters, and even decorate the envelopes with coloured flowers and hearts to make them smile. I love your channel, and enjoy your lessons. Thank you for sharing your work and reviews, they are very helpful.
I am so glad you enjoyed this video. I didn't want to just recommend a bunch of coloring books but always love to explain why I choose or recommend certain products, especially coloring books. There is so much to be learned in coloring books like these that most people think or assume are for little kids. We are all still learning every single day whether it be our art/coloring skills or life lessons. That is awesome that you do that for your daughter and granddaughter...how sweet. They must love receiving your finished pictures as cards and letters.
@@annettesonneson3468 Thank you,it's my daughter and grand daughter who are awesome, they got me my first colouring book, pens and pencils for Christmas 4 years ago,to keep me occupied because I'm mainly housebound, and now I have a passion for it and it helps me so much.
@@technonarg5978 That is really awesome and not to mention inspirational!!!! It’s not very often that others pay it forward like you do bc it definitely shows your daughter and granddaughter how thankful you are for them thinking of you like that with buying you such a loving and thoughtful gift🥰😇❤️
As a beginner this is great content. When i flip through books at stores i'm looking for art that speaks to me and inspires me but doesn't intimidate me yet i don't want something too simple. Thank you so much for these ideas. The black on the back of pages is brilliant as i'd love to use gel pens for added pop but am terrified of ruining the page on the back with bleed through.
These are a lot of great suggestions! My only thing to add here is that these are all Createspace paper, which is not great for blending and can easily frustrate a new colorist, so most of these would have to print (which you did mention of course!), but that might be hard for new colorists. I agree some tutorials in these books would probably help a lot, just so new colorists get an idea of where to go next :). Thank you so much for sharing!
Thanks so much for reviving this series. Suggestions: a color along using one of these books. highlighting one technique. You kept mentioning hair, shadow, shade etc. How about a series of just how to color hair, clothes etc.? Slowed down, simple techniques.
Thank you for the suggestions. I did already do this in a previous Color Along where Deborah Muller created a page specifically for me to do hair, skin, and clothing tutorials. Here is the playlist for that color along. If you would like the free page to follow it, you will find it in my Facebook group. Just ask and I am sure someone will post it for you if you can't find it. ua-cam.com/play/PLCV050IiJShrq2vVqY65SBZmW47x6dl2i.html
This video was so good! I have been adult coloring since 2015 and consider myself an “advanced” beginner. You gave me so many things to think about. I have many of the expensive artist coloring books and I do love them, but honestly I have the most fun in my Hannah Lynn books. Looking forward to more of your color alongs in her books!
I’m so glad you enjoyed the video. I’m happy that it gave you a lot more ideas. I do love the handling books and I have a new one coming. I will definitely have to do another color long in a Hannah Lynn book. I really love her artwork.
LOVE the "Color It" line of Books. I just received the Goddesses Book for a Secret Santa gift. The paper is lovely & looking forward to coloring in it.
I have found that although I've been coloring almost 3 years...Hannah Lynn is a great book for beginners up to advanced. I was so scared to do hair and skin and for me anyway it is easy peasy !!!!! Lol...thanks for sharing these....I didn't know about her other books with 2 images each as I have Enchanted Faces only SO FAR... LOL....Amazon here I come !!! Thanks Pam. Suellen Towers Bivins
I love Hannah Lynn too! I thought I had completed my collection of her books and realized the other day I don’t have her Halloween book. Happy Coloring!
Love this series great job Pamela!!!! I’ve learned so much from you and your suggestions I love the color companions you told us about I bought the bundle and they’re great sarah did such a great job
Purchased my first CBN a few weeks ago and actually like it so much more than I ever expected. The stress of having to pick a color palette for each page is already done for you and I don’t know about everyone else but I’m all about doing things to make life a little easier!!!! Love watching your Videos and just wanted to say Thanks Again for yet another informative and very helpful video!!!! We are all very grateful and look forward to watching and learning from many more!! 😁❤️
I am so glad you’re enjoying my videos. I can’t wait to try the color by number book. I haven’t colored in a book like that since I was a child. I think a lot of people are purchasing these books nowadays and finding that they really love them.
I have so many videos on so many different things. I’m glad you were able to search my channel and find it. Any time you are unsure, feel free to ask in my Facebook group and it will definitely get an answer by either me or one of my moderators. Usually even someone in the group.
I really enjoyed this video, especially as a beginner! The Colorit mandala caught my attention but I'm highly intimidated by the details in most of the pages. Would I be better off starting with a Jade Summer mandala book and "graduating" to the Colorit one? Unless I buy paper to bring to my local print shop, making copies isn't a readily handy option for me. Anywho, keep sharing such great and helpful content 😊😊 {edited for spelling}
I would say that all depends on what you enjoy coloring most. If you want to increase your skills in coloring hair and skin, then I would use some of the books I suggested for that. If you just want to increase your skills in learning contrasting colors and educating yourself a little bit with the color wheel, then I would suggest the color it Mandala book. All of these books are great for different reasons just as I suggested in the video. If you were just looking for a better paper, then Color it does have other books available.
@@PamelasPassionforPencils You absolutely nailed it! I would like to improve at color selection for pairing/contrasting, so thank you for the enlightenment.
Hi Pamela! Tks for sharing so much knowledge! I would like if you could mention other kinds and brands of paper that could work well with this printing. I am from Brazil, and it is very difficult to find some of these books and I can't find these papers you always mention, as well... Tks
Thanks so much for this! I’m particularly interested in the color by number flowers and the flowers and swirls. Is the paper in the books decent or would I be better off printing the digital version on my preferred paper?
The paper in these books are decent enough to be able to color on. They are even good enough to be able to use markers if you wanted to as long as you put a piece of cardstock or other paper behind the page you're coloring.
I can't wait to try that one out. I've never had a color by number...at least not since I was a kid! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the info. How do I find it a book is done on Amazon paper? I wish you spoke about the paper quality of any book you talk about, weight, texture etc.. Thanks again.
I am not sure which coloring books you looked at, but the I don't believe any of them are $13.99. There are even some as low as $6.99 and the only one that is on the higher end is the Color it book, but it has much better quality paper and is spiral bound.
Yes, but that book is spiral bound and has great quality paper. All the rest are printed on Amazon paper and so the paper quality is not as good, but good enough to color on. The Color it book works great with anything you want to use on it like markers, gel pens, or even watercolor.

Yes sweetie, the Color It !!! 🥴 all good !!! I. Have so much already 🤗🤩
Color It does have really nice paper, I have bought their blank paper to print pages on also. It is just superior to most other books.
Volume 3 of Color It Mandala's - has some Gorgeous pages in it, not all the standard mandala. Not all are as Intriquit as Vol. 2
The Color It Mandalas #2 ...

Honestly, i don't buy these types of books from Amazon, because the paper quality is crap, unless i'm going to use it to print on better paper.
