as far as I know, the only other way would be with power tools. but even then, a chisel is generally more accurate. you should look up some videos and read some articles about how to use a chisel and practice with it. make small boxes and angles. you'll get good in a matter of time. i would highly recommend you watch "matt estlea mortise and tenon" he has made videos about multiple joints and the pros and cons of each. good luck my friend
Great Job! Are those measurements correct? Isn't a queen 60" wide and the cut outs for the mortise and tenon seem to be missing a few dimensions. Any help would be great.
