honestly, if alhaitham’s demo was included in this, i would not HESITATE to say that its my fav. the animations improved so much so quickly, kaveh was so expressive, and alhaitham just looked super cool man. as a side note, it made me really happy to see two of my ships just hanging out together as a big time shipper

You summed it up correctly.Zhongli's trailer actually told us what the First Contract of Liyue and him finally entering the Archon War after the destruction of his first civilization and the death of his closest companion.
While Raiden is just Yae Miko introducing her and Raiden beating the shit out of everyone.
Zhongli takes the W for me being one of the first characters to ever be released and the fact that they released this sick trailer at that time when they probably didn't have much budget.

zhongli's trailer is one of the oldest trailers, so had a lower budget than raiden's. What's impressive is that it still remains one of the best trailers genshin ever released, and the most viewed one. The difference for me is the way they used their budget. Raiden's trailer may have much better effects and transitions, but it was too messy towards the end(for me). however, zhongli's trailer does everything it wanted to achieve almost perfectly, and is just smooth and satisfying. You can't find fault with it. (again, for me). They used their budget at that time to it's fullest. ultimately those 2 are the best trailers imo, it all comes down to personal opinion after that
Ngl the recent demo are cool. But Zhongli's hits different for me. His trailer send the chills down my spine when I first saw it. The second made me cry cuz I love this character so much. I remember pulling for him with his song playing in the background and I literary screamed/adrenaline rush when I got him. He gave me core memory. Forever the best demo for me.

For me it is Alhaitham's. But for the choice in the video Zhongli. Simply cause the musical score is perfect for the trailer. Raiden's music is a bit too techno-japanese for me. Other than that equal footing. I have to reinstate Alhaitham's I my personal favorite.

i love all the archon demos. They are my favourite. Ei's is the most hype, nahida's is cute and fun also emotional, zhongli's is badass and iconic, venti 's definitely the older demo one but still great
Ayaka's is amazing but Ganyu's trailer sound track SLAPS like OMG IT SOOOOO HYPER AND GETS ME GOING!
I know they'd never invest their money into it, but I'd love to see a more modern version of the demos for Keqing, Mona, and Qiqi. And an actual demo for Diluc and Jean.

Personally, in terms of aesthetic and impact, Zhongli’s my fav. Musically, it’s a close fight between hu tao’s and itto’s. In terms of editing and vibe, i rlly like Alhaitham’s bc it gave us a lot of personality which made the characters present in his trailer more alive.
edit: i forgot mentioning Yelan’s trailer hell that one also is up there for me

Strange they included the early game and 4* character demos yet Eula, Kazuha, Kokomi and even Childe were left out. I understand Sumeru characters perhaps being too recent but I'm surprised by how many characters were missing in the demo comparisons, also all the Pyro characters (that aren't Hu Tao or Klee) got done dirty oof...
I love Scara's trailer, it's my all time favorite and that fact will probably never change
I remember doing that test and "glitching it" by choosing Rosaria so often, that I ended up having to pick between her demo (yeah, it was Rosa vs Rosa)

i bet all the new genshin players will choose raiden any day...but for most og player most probably will choose zhongli ...when they relvealed that burst animation and the song it was awesome
Zhongli's trailer is my top fav, uncontested, bc of how his music ties so well with his trailer, especially at the beat drop. U just cannot listen to Rex Incognito without "I WILL HAVE ORDER" at the beat drop (which is why most fan remixes dont hit right for me)

I started playing at the end of Inuzuma but Zhong Li's trailer got me to play
Okay so I know many don’t consider Zhongli that great an archon for retiring from leading/watching over his country, but we’ve ought to consider the fact that he’s been guiding his people for 3,700 years 🥲 Always advising his people during the Rite of Descension, as well as going undercover to roam the streets of Liyue to not only admire his peoples’ works, but to also ensure Liyue’s safety and prosperity. Though that wasn’t say the best “retirement plan”, we shouldn’t factor out how well he took care of his nation beforehand
All that said I feel like if Nahida (and similarly recent) trailers were included, it likely would’ve made this a lot harder, too. Cyno’s and Nahida’s are both wonderful in soundtrack and the animation is so smooth

alhaitham's trailer absolutely takes the top spot for me, and then probably wanderer's after that. (then tighnari's because shrooms and i also love him lmao.) everything about alhaitham's trailer was perfect, and i don't even like alhaitham!! the animation was SO fluid and expressive with each character having distinct body language and their own unique little quirks. the voice acting and dialogue felt so natural (sumeru voice actors are on a different level for me anyway, they're SO good) and the characters' personalities and dynamics truly got to shine!! you really got the sense that this is an actual group of friends that have history together; kaveh complaining about alhaitham, kaveh teasing cyno, cyno's "told you" at tighnari and their moment of synchronicity at the end, alhaitham needling kaveh as soon as he arrives, tighnari letting alhaitham in on the conversation, you get to see the relationships on display and it adds so much dimension to the characters and makes them that much more endearing. the transition into alhaitham's splash art was SMOOTH and made him look like a model which i thought was so funny, and the soundtrack matched not only the vibe of the conversation at the table but simultaneously the combat demonstration too. just such a fun and refreshing trailer. hyv really knocked it out of the park, i cannot praise it enough and i hope we get more like it in the future. i've already gone back and rewatched it so many times now, lol.
(as for wanderer's, i just really like that it looks and feels like a fan edit or fan mv. whoever edited it for sure has a secret genshin edit dedicated youtube channel or tiktok.)

Objectively and subjectively i can't decide which would be the best because they all are just steppingstones of Hoyo's progression of demo artistry. From the simple character + Landscape showcases, to the growth of story/cutscene implementation, to more intricate character interactions/cameos- the only thing that stays consistent are the theme songs fitting in a way that tells you everything you need to know about the characters.
This could just be my inability to just pick one character to be my ultimate fave. It's simply impossible.
Raiden Ei and Inazuma characters is always a epic trailer for me
For me, Yelan trailer was my favorite. The jazz music was just amazing. The cutscene was amazing. Everything about her trailer to me was just amazing. There’s a reason she’s my favorite character.
Honestly, zhongli's trailer is what got me to know Genshin and wanting to learn more about the game (along with Klee's and Venti).
