- Switching up to the CADEX Boost saddle on my road bike for the last few months has been a very useful exercise after a few issues in the saddle department over the winter/indoor season. This video covers all the details and I give my take on it after a few 1000km.

Loosing grams day = Happy days!
Man that pump track looks so much fun!
It was awesome. I had no idea what I was doing. Still had fun. Yeah bikes!
Great review as usual Shane! After trying several saddles with little success, I have been using the wider 152mm Pro stealth which I have found to be a good compromise in that I can ride daily without ongoing issues. It definitely helps to get your fit and positioning on the bike correct as I have found this to be a major contributing factor in saddle comfort.
Love the blue sky in the background & the saddle review👍
Love the ridesofjapan shout out. Been switching saddles for years until I tried a Selle SMP. Haven't looked back since
same same
Totally agree. I love the SMP Dynamic and T3
A Selle SMP took me from barely being able to get around Albert Park to riding across Japan and South Korea.
That is really light!
Looking forward wheels review
Great video as usual Shane. Would love to see you do some saddle reviews. I'm well into double figures of my saddle searching quest and still going
Thanks Shane - exactly what I’ll be doing between Power and the Stealth as soon as I can get my hands on one!
I struggled with saddle sores for years. All sitbone measurement devices would indicate my saddle size was 143. WRONG. after so many saddles later, I tried the Specialized Toupe 130 and BANG! Problem solved. Those things aren't always accurate. Really depends on your riding style.
In my never ending quest I really appreciate the saddle reviews, also chucked at the rides of Japan reference. We would appreciate how Von is coming along?

Interesting that different saddles on different bikes helps. Most folks just find 1 saddle that suits & then put it on all their bikes.
Looks like a cross between a Romin Evo Pro and a Selle SMP with that kick up at the back. Shame it isn’t a bit longer!
I sometimes have periods of low level pain when using computer keyboards. I've found that switching between different keyboards helps, probably because my hands are in a slightly different position, changing pressure and impact points. For example, I switch between an IBM Model M keyboard, Apple Aluminium keyboard, and a cheap but very good corporate level Dell keyboard that came with my Optiplex.
Perhaps periodically changing to different saddles when you get low level pain might be an idea.
Ok, so I should have watched the whole video before commenting 🤷♀️ (Still got to mention I have a Model M ... actually have two!)
Is the first time I see to set up the saddle like this....kudos if it works for you!
Did you try the 152mm pro stealth as well?
No.
Could you review the Cadex Race TL 28s? Quite curious how to fairs with the GP5000s
Much easier to pull the seatpost("if it's a saddle why do we call it SEATPOST?")
Then get the saddle on tbe seatpost. Re-install seatpost. And then fine tune.
Dont have to stand with back bent over, cursing, if you install the saddle on a seatpost while the saddle sits top down on a table.
michael allen except you can’t set the proper angle of the seat tube isn’t on the bike
next video - Lama pump track 360 tutorial
Thanks for the review. any comparison to the Sworks Toupe possible? cheers
No local Specialized shop here, they closed. Not likely.
Is the mid/longterm review coming up? Pondering to get this saddle also
It's still on the bike... and lasted the Festive 500. All good so far.
Shane Miller - GPLama thanks! Guess i gotta sneak in this upgrade also:)
I personally think most people think they need a wider saddle than they actually do. I wish Cadex made this saddle in the 140mm area. I still may try it out though. I think a lot of saddle sores come from the rubbing of excessively wide saddles. Your bum rubs on the wings.
I have that pro saddle too. Hard as a rock indoors, but I don't notice it outside. Something with a bit more comliance might help on the indoor trainer, except I don't know where to start looking.
You need a rocker plate! for comfort, not for sprints ;)
Why not making the rails just some 10mm extra in the back?? I've never seen anyone clamping a saddle that further front so it's just useless rails...
Why didn't ya just measure from the back of your stem to seat nose and set up your new saddle to the measurements.
A lot of new saddles have different length noses. Some are stubby, some not so much.
Hey Shane I presume it's a lot better than the standard saddle on the Propel.
I bought a prologo on my previous bike pretty comfy
I didn’t ride the stock saddle on the Giant. It was the first thing to come off the bike in the shop.
Nothing like a unfinished road to score up that nice paint job :/
It's a tool not a trophy. Life is too short to worry about the little things.
@@gplama true but still hurt when I took my new aeroad down a street like that and I rock got jammed through my back wheel and seat tube scoring the paint badly. :(
Glad to see it’s not just me that struggles with mounting saddles on seatposts 😂
Lama try tilting the saddle one way or another, i use the power saddle and had saddle sores but then tilted the saddle just a couple of degrees and it is great now NO saddle sores try that.
Thanks for reviews like this. I have had severe ass problems in the past while riding and switching to the Specialized Power seems to have solved it, but as you said, looking for a new, more comfortable saddle is a never ending quest.
Tried it today. It is so good. It totally comfortable, no problem with sitbones, it saves energy in the long run, and it increases pedal efficiency and power output. You never get tired , it propel you forward lol
One thing I have found to be very effective against saddle sores is applying copious amounts of hand disinfectant with a cotton pad in all areas affected before each ride. Never had any issue since.
There is chamois cream, 😂 are you putting hand gel in there😂😂
@@potenzaintertradeco.ltd.6970 You mean chamois scam. Hugely overpriced, totally useless. Bacteria cause saddle sores, you kill them with disinfectant.
Oh, I see you changed up to this.
"TCRRRRRRRRR"
The front adjuster bolt on your seat post clamp looks as though it has a knurled finger adjuster. My tcx has something similar.
👍🏼
Extra pump track footage......awesome......
The Power is a perfect road saddle but not a good trainer saddle. 300 for a saddle.... Nope, Cadex looks good though.
Similar design to scicon elan saddle which i recently purchased for a good price. Absolutely love it so comfortable.
Using selle shortfit wide atm and no complaints. I like the cutaway as it gives access to the front tilt bolt.
Next episode with Shane. ...new gravel bike! 😆
Does it help with numbness down there ?
Here goes Boost!
Another option to try: Shimano Pro Aerofuel.
This is not a new saddle. And since release, it was overshadowed by other saddles (Pro Stealth included).
It is marketed as TT saddle. But it is not as wild TT design as most split nose saddle. Rather, it is too 'roady' style.
Pro Aerofuel is the one that end my saddle search after went through so many saddles, including Fiziks, Specialized Power,Specialized Power Arc, Selle Italia SP-01 Boost, Shimano Pro Stealth and Prologo Dimension CPC.
Looks interesting. I lik the top grippers. Lots of.... 🍆 room with the gap on top too.
Hi Shane- I have a TCR Advanced 1 which I think uses the same seatpost as yours. Did you have any problems fitting the oval rails into the round clamp? I recently tried a Fabric Line Pro with carbon 7x9 rails and while the post clamps the rail from above and below, it doesn't touch the sides. Did that happen here with the Cadex and do you think it's ok for me to proceed with the Fabric? Thanks
I contacted Giant about getting oval rail compatible clamps. I wasn't able to get a straight answer... other than "it'll work with the clamp that's on there". That's different to the S-Works posts/clamps I've used in the past where round and oval were different. On the advice of Giant, I installed the saddle anyway and it has been fine.
Great video!! But I noticed you put under the saddle a small bag. Can u tell me the brand and model? Usually what is available in market is quite big. Thanks, Joao

Hey Shane, do you use a mobile phone camera to these recordings during rides? Asking because the video looks pretty stable.
GoPro Hero 7. I have the 8 here to unbox in the next few days.
@@gplama GPro 7 got great stabilisation which is noticed in your ride video! Cool, looking forward to hear about GP8!
writing this comment 3 seconds into the video... is it a bad omen that a video reviewing a saddle starts with Shane not sitting in the saddle?....
I thought you’d want to see the saddle and not my arse plonked on it :)
@@gplama now I've watched the whole thing yeah for sure! Saddle looks great! And I guess by you standing up we get to see the saddle AND your arse so double win! Haha!
What’s the exact name of your helmet ? I like it a lot
Prevail II
Shane Miller - GPLama Thx pal
Good review as always. I’ve gone the opposite and made sure I have a matching saddle on my bikes. But importantly I only did this once I had a saddle I was happy with. In my case, the Bontrager AEOLUS.
