Im looking for a digital lock system for property of mine that i put on airbnb. Since im living in a different country I am looking for a system where I can remotely change the Password code over wifi so i people who rent dont have keys they can duplicate or have access to the property afterwards.
I think the convenience factors of it is the big selling point. I Mean people that put in front doors with huge glass panes or have windows in their house in general aren't that crazy about security anyways. Not having to pull keys out with a arm full of groceries is nice. Friend feeding your dog while while your gone for a week you can give them a temporary key through the app. Thus combined with a doorbell cam us pretty awesome technology
I see both points and can see both views. I myself feel the same way about having glass panes on doors, I feel it gives someone easier access to get in if they wanted to
Hello. Can you please let me know how can I know if the smart lock is compatible with my security door? It is a door with lockers that need 3 and a half turn of the key to completely close. Many thanks Andre
Can you tell me why my Schlage Smart Lock alarm is going off anytime the internal door knob is turned or there is some time of movement close by being very sensitive . How can I fix this or can I turn off. Thank you. Enjoyed your video.
Can any of these smart locks be operated/administered on a PC not a phone. I am disabled and cannot operate a mobile phone. I am looking for a lock I can operate from my PC, combined with a smart doorbell so I can see who I'm letting in. I am in the UK. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks. Mike
Well, for a couple reasons it is easy to open if someone can get a fingerprint profile by you touching something. Artist can recreate said finger print and use a substance to mimic a finger when entering your place. Although that does require a brain and some skills.
@@brigitteferrand1608 Sorry, I made a mistake. I missed 3 0s. It actually is 15,768,000,000/Year. Just to make sure. 500*60sec=30,000/min. 30,000*60=1,800,000/hr. 1,800,000*24=43,200,000/day. 43,200,000*365=15,768,000,000. Sorry for the confusion. I gotta go, my house just got broken into 2 times while I was typing this!
I really don't like that you start the video by putting fear into viewers about break ins, break ins happen with or without a smart lock, most common break ins are breaking a window or a glass in a door not because the locks, lock picking is not the principal cause of break ins.
NOT August. August Smart Locks suck. Their customer service is hard to get to. The Wifi module drops out of network almost every 4-5 days. It is so annoying. I added my family, they got removed somehow. I invite them again but they don't receive invitations anymore. DON'T BUY AUGUST. IT SUCKS.

I want one where you use card to open and you can view on the app to see when and who opened the door and add/delete users.

Glad to see this product we all supply. Your video shows them in a full way. 😃
Also August smart lock is best used with solid doors instead of ones with a big pane of glass that defeats the purpose of good security

Thank you so much for the video; this 12-minute video is more informative and useful than any other internet research. Thank you once again!
Which lock allows you to add multiple homes (more than 5)? Nest offers up to 5 homes via Google home and I need more than 5. Any thoughts?
What about the lock on the handle? Some of these seem to be only deadbolt locks. Useless if someone turns the handle lock also.

Great review of door locks

I'm thinking the same thing you are.
Best lock I have is a german rottweiler works every time
My dad used to say the same thing. "The best home security is a good dog." 🙂
Nice
You very right 👍👍👍i have german shepherd who doesn’t let anyone even pass near the door.
Too expensive. Is there a cheaper way?
what is the longest distance you can use your phone to lock or unlock those locks? can anybody answer me please?
Very helpful! Thank you so much
Probably one of the best UA-cam channel
Can these
Get wet? I hose my door often
which one is waterproof please?

This may depend on your disability, but you would need a Google Home or a Amazon Echo. Then you can give voice commands.
Maybe it can works you can just download the app for that lock in your pc and then do your job
I want a smart lock with finger print security
Dumb, bad idea.
@@Joshuaxiong2 why is it a bad idea, just curious...

Some argue that fingerprint security isn't all that secure...
A home is only as secure as your most fragile window. Notice that a vault has no windows.
Ha, good thinking.
Do you know of any smart locks that are weather proof on both sides? Looking for a solution for a courtyard gate.
I was thinking the same question too
Know what would be great if there was just a button that was locking the door it only locked the door with out the key.
I would recommend ten times more
500 break-ins a second? Hmm that's 43,200,000/day and 15,700,000/year. Impressive! That's like twice the world population!
C'est 15 700 000 et non 15 700 000 000, donc non, c'est comme 500 fois moins que la population mondiale

Now its even more easy breaking in someone house.
Don’t lose your passcode you have to throw the whole thing in the garbage which I had to do several time

To be safe always need a good door but also a lock, thank you for the movie.
Digital door lock is the solution!
with Wifi , that's bad idea(use lots battery); without fingerprint, that's another bad idea!
500 break ins per second is hilariously wrong. Any source?
