I think that the Squier Contemporary strat is a great all-around guitar, however with a little help maybe we can make it even better. Today I will show you how to install a Fu-tone brass block and make a good guitar even better with this quick upgrade.

Brass block is the only way to go. Works in metal setup too, my jackson sounds on fire now.
Just installed one of these in my MIM strat and the difference is actually huge! I am not easily impressed but, WOW. Resonance, sustain, attack all improved.
FU-TONE is a great company and they make awesome stuff...they are great to do business with!!!!!
Awesome!
staying tuned ....
Hi , did you upgrade the electronics in this guitar and would a regular fender 5 way switch fit in the cavity...thanks
Which block model do you use for your contemporay strat?
Yeah , i think i can do that now . Hows the " Hghway Star " solo comein along ? Im thinkin u cld handle tht . And if u can , then just mayb , well im gonna try it as well . I found a good utube lesson on line and i hav the deep purple recording. so im gona get after it . Its no piece of cake as they say . Good luck , love the channel .
Hey Tom. The solo is great. Not a piece of cake but once you get it to flow its fun to play...
cool mod!
10.5mm for Mexican and 10.5mm for imports cause it’s slightly shorter so it doesn’t stick out of back, import except Mexican are thinner body
Great video👍 Just one error I noticed you weighed the FU bridge with the three mounting screws attached to it. The original bridge was weighed without those screws so the weight of the FU bridge needs the weight of those screws deducted to get a true comparison.
Yes, I noticed that afterwards also. The difference in the screws weight is very very minimal.
Tony what size of block did you fit in the squire standard stratocaster guitar?
Simon, I don't remember because I sent them a photo copy to match the original one I was replacing...Sorry
I want to do this mod to my contemporary strat. What size block do I order?
Its best to contact FU tone and ask them the correct size.
FU-Tone may make great stuff, but man, that company name. lol
Not a big deal but the screws do weigh something.
Does lever tremolo bar hole match?
Yes
@@addictedtogear Thak you very much 🙏🙂
Does brass block increse a weight of a guitar?
It does but it is not really noticable.
No point in me proceeding with this as the parts are not available in the UK, a pity.
Sorry Tony, it seems many companies have difficultes catering to the UK market. Thanks for watching!
The GFS block is made from REAL Solid steel- Lead-free ROHS compliant steel- When you bang it with a screwdriver it goes "PING" and not "thunk...". The ball ends sit close to the BOTTOM of the block just like my 63, and it ONLY takes a USA standard 10-32 thread trem arm. (Sorry, your Chinese arm WILL NOT FIT)
wheres the sound test
You didn’t play it ….
