    It's just so good isn't it? I could just sit and listen to this style of playing all day long and never get bored. Puts a smile on my face. One version of heaven would be to be able to spend an afternoon outside a bar in the sun somewhere hot listening to this......whilst getting pleasantly smashed!

    @2:49 and @2:51 you start to get into an electric solo bend style and it sounded cool but you tamed it back after you started that haha. Amazing cover my man. I'm currently learning this piece myself though don't have a selmer style guitar yet so am just picking hard towards the bridge and getting similar tones until I can grab one. Thanks!!!

    why do gypsy jazz guitarists all play guitars with tiny sound holes? Just wondering. Great video!

    • @IpwnU820
      @IpwnU820 7 років тому +3

      it's what create the gypsy tone of the guitar, a little more strident than a normal acoustique wich is smoother and warmer

    • @jozsefbabits2804
      @jozsefbabits2804 5 років тому +1

      It creates a sharper sound. Like more “tinnie”. It’s very signature to gypsy jazz. Very beautiful sound. The rhythm guitar has a “D” hole which accompanies the lead guitar with a chunkier and rougher sound.

      If you're wondering, they're called Selmer guitars. They're used for the reason abc gave.

      Hello Joe! The problem with downloading this lesson is because this lesson is too big - over 1 gb so it can't be downloaded normaly. Live4guitar send this lesson individualy via online transfers to you only because of the size of the lesson. The guy who is doing this is on vacation but I have contacted him and hope today you will get your lesson.

      thank you so much. i have always loved that song and you do an amazing version! i know the exact note you begin your own solo, and your hand moves so beautifully when you are high on the neck near the end, not only the notes but the visual pattern of the hand movement. i cant believe you personally tried to resolve this. thanks again, and i apologize for my frustration.

    This style of playing seems almost impossible to learn to me. I can’t imagine the time and practice one puts into to learn this, let alone master it. How Django played it with only two fingers is beyond me. It’s mind boggling! What an incredible guitarist he was. Out of this world!
    You did a fantastic job!

    Great interpretation of the Django solo. It is flawless! I love your own solo in the second part. You're one of my favorite gypsy jazz players. Just wondering, do you record your own backing tracks? I saw Band in a Box has a Gypsy jazz style. All the best!

      His all solos were great, but this one is just insane, so melodical i literally first learned to sing this solo and then i tried to play it. xD Amazing! + Damjan's improv makes it even better. :D

    Hello. I am trying to learn gypsy jazz during the covid lockdown . I am starting with “I’ll See You In My Dreams”. I am a blues guitarist . Here is my question - is it important that I learn the right hand technique where every time I play a new string I start that string with a downstroke ? Or can I just continue with alternate picking ? If I need to learn the downstroke for every new string technique, why is that so important ?

  • @FrancisRunge
