This character is probably the only reason I really stuck with watching Cursed. It wasn’t a bad show but Daniel killed it in this role when so many other of the characters just felt meh. And his arc with Squirrel/Percival was awesome. I hope we get more of the Weeping Monk in season 2.
Daniel has a truly captivating presence in this role, and YES the way his interactions with Squirrel (but also Gawain!) unexpectedly evolved towards understanding and even camaraderie was so compelling to watch. Want *so* much more of that! And maybe a s2 would allow other characters more layers and progress 😊

I broke down and watched this {damn being spoiled Couldn't ignore one of your videos because I didn't know if I would see this show} and DAMN!!! this video has intrigued me to watch this - gotta add this to list because damn!!! Lancelot!!! whoa baby!! Lancelot is bad ass!! so far I only knew two versions of Lancelot {Merlin and OUAT} and this one is a different version which intrigues more because it's a new edge to the legendary character and looks like he has his own storyline here and I cannot wait to see this. The song, the editing and the scenes combined with the voiceovers how do you continue to amaze me with your talents and capturing these new fandoms so well it makes me want to see them!! Also yeah...that reveal was a SHOCK. A Lancelot with SUCH a dark past and being an antagonist for a whole season is something I did not see coming, and surely wildly different from other characterizations of him! I'm not sure how much this show plans to catch up with the actual legend, but if it ever does I'm sure it will be such a interesting journey to see a character introduced like this grow into THE Lancelot. He's downright terrifying at times this season, but idk, there's always something about him that makes you think 'more than meets the eye', I think, even when he is just this unnamed menace. Daniel has a wonderful presence in this role! (Something I cannot unfortunately say for other characters from the legend, whose actors in this show I thought a bit underwhelming. I love this! Personally I loved Cursed. Sometimes the plot took a strange turn but I connect with the characters and I absolutely loved the Weeping Monk! I liked the political players too. I recently read a book series (Shadowdance series by David Dalglish) where the king is absolutely incapable of ruling and sits afraid in his castle while there’s an ongoing war within his city, and that made me at first think of Uther as that kind of king. But he surprised me because he actually made some of his own decisions (especially in the last episode). I couldn’t agree more with you (in the description): the visuals in Cursed are stunning! The environments, clothing, Fae-markings, the leaves on Nimue when she uses magic are all so well made.

It's quite hard to get an actual grip on his longterm agenda and motivations. I'm not always sold on the actor who plays him so far, but I did like the writing revolving around him most of the time too. I'm just a tiny bit weirded out that it seems they have decided to make him and Arthur completely unrelated to one another... Visuals are truly the #1 strength of the show, which makes it an absolute pleasure to edit with 😊
Did I just watch this again after JUST finishing all of this unique series.....um YES I DID AND THIS VIDEO HAS A WHOLE NEW MEANING TO ME after watching the scenes and *high five* for fellow Weeping Monk/Lancelot fangirl because he was just such an amazing incredible character those last few episodes WOW! Daniel was incredible!!! I can see what you mean about "hit and miss" with the series cause at times I'm like huh but it was this character that kept me going and you captured him beautifully in this video combining all his scenes {and also PLEASE do a Ben and Weeping Monk parallel video in the future because SO many! that scene in the tent with Father Calden definitely a huge one with him and of course Ben/Snoke but MAD PROPS on this incredible video and I look forward to many more videos with this amazing new favourite character of mine

@@irydionlover Yes, it does! I mean, for me, 'Cursed' Arthur, Merlin and Morgana will never top 'Merlin' Arthur, Merlin and Morgana, but! 'Cursed' Lancelot and Gawain already toped 'Merlin' Lancelot and Gwaine like multiple times! And I cannot wait for season two!
Ditto for season two! And Gawain ;_; I am so sad we probably won't be seeing any more of him, he was too awesome to have lasted so little. It's probably safe to say that 'Cursed' Percival easily tops Merlin's too, because Tom was always awesome but the character hardly had a personality there tbh. This Merlin is so wildly different from Colin's that I find it really hard to compare, and this Morgana I find potentially interesting depending on what they do with her (of course it's rather hard to top Katie :D), but on Arthur I will agree 3000x. I don't really like this actor in the role much so far, he often falls flat to me :/ but maybe in season 2 some of the cast I'm not that convinced by will grow on me, who knows? Things being as they are, this may be the *one* and only version where I vastly prefer Lancelot over Arthur though xD

Okay, I'm finally back to actually comment on this. It's absolutely unforgivable that I haven't already. I still haven't watched this show, but I don't have to have to know that this is an incredible tribute. Also **sing song voice** you have a tyyyyyype (but, like, the best of types). Have I ever mentioned I adore how much thought goes into your song choices? Because I do. They're always so fitting for the character, and just elevate your already gorgeous editing so much. It's an amazing talent to be able to hit every single nail on the head when it comes to editing, and yet you make it look effortless. MA'AM, That Merlin quote- you evil _genius_ , it fits so perfectly, and it's so seamlessly added, that I wouldn't have even noticed if I'm not always on the verge of a Merlin related meltdown. I really wish I'd watched the show already so I could comment more on the nuances I'm sure you've captured flawlessly, because you always do, and even not being familiar with the character, I can see how cleverly you've captured him and his struggles. I don't even know how to properly comment here. The way you do character studies is truly second to none.

Haha, thanks! I honestly can't get any credit for how pretty this show is, it makes it very easy for a video to look good! Story-wise...depends a lot if you're willing to put up with some doubtful choices and VERY loose correspondence between Arthurian characters in the show and their legendary counterparts so far (something that may and I hope will change in surprising ways in the future, if it gets renewed). And yesssss, this song just never goes out of style ♥

@@irydionlover haha yes, from my point of view defenetly you should read it if you are interested in rangers, middle ages, knights, magic, kingdoms (there are even north "Vikings" and southern desert people. Those series are exactly about it. I think this show "Cursed" had a lot of inspiration from those books.

I did see you tweeting about this series a few days ago! I struggled with it a lot too at the beginning to be honest -- I don't know exactly what it is, maybe the pacing or some dialogue or that weird, weird ""historical"" context they should have just left alone because it doesn't make much sense at all 😅 -- so I totally understand why you couldn't really get into it. But, if it helps maybe making you give it another chance eventually, it gets a lot better towards the end imho. The characters themselves are interesting and get some promising development and unexpected interactions once they have room to breathe, and *those* name reveals at the very end just plain leave you wanting for more. Now I'm pretty curious to see how they can possibly take such a wildly different setup to the Arthurian characters we know...as long as Netflix doesn't just decide to pull another Marco Polo with this 😭. That said, I'm really really happy you liked the video nonetheless! I never expected it to happen, but this might very well be the fandom that makes me want to vid more of it right now 😊 (especially since the visuals are *so* pretty, too). I have a question about this. Is the boy in the first episode which we see sitting next to father Carden until his hand turns green supposed to be the Weeping monk as a kid, as a flashback? Because it was not clear for me if it was a flashback or a scene in present tense about a boy with the same hand magic.
I'm not 100% sure he is either (although the WM is uncharacteristically not shown as part of the intro raid to that village, so he could be? He also looks the part), but even if he is not I think it could still very well represent what happened to him as a child, and that's why I used it as such. Either way he has still gone through something very similar a long time ago 😔
Kiki Okai I’m pretty sure he was cause when the Green Knight was talking to him and asking him how could he betray his people (the Fay) and how he also new that he looked familiar because only the Ash Folk have those marks on their face and the Ash Folk are like a species/type of Fay.

Ahahahaha Daniel è un OTTIMO incentivo, honestly 😍 e mi piace veramente tanto in questo ruolo! Lo sentivo parlare ieri in un'intervista di come sia stata una sfida per lui trasmettere sensazioni su un personaggio solo da come si comporta e parlando pochissimo e beh, penso che ci sia riuscito egregiamente, perché tutte le puntate le passi a pensare 'c'è qualcosa in più che mi sfugge dietro a questo personaggio', o almeno per me è stato così. Poi ho un debole per i villains che in realtà sono molto isolati anche nel loro gruppo villain, spero sempre che succeda qualche rivolgimento interessante, e così è per lui...e dopo che ti lanciano la bomba del name reveal, le aspettative sono solo aumentate. La serie in sé ha alcuni elementi e momenti un po' dubbi, ma sono molto curiosa di dove vogliano andare a parare e di come pensino di ricollegarsi ad alcuni aspetti della leggenda arturiana, visto che per ora i punti di contatto non sono molti, devo dire. Se la guarderai, sarò molto curiosa di avere tue opinioni! (o anche solo di condividere un po' di sano sclero su Daniel, che male non fa :'D)

@@irydionlover Appena ho visto il trailer mi sono detta: No, devo assolutamente vederlo. Poi sono fissata anch'io con il tema arturiano dunque non potevo lasciarmelo scappare. Pensavo addirittura ad un terzo video a tema crossover con merlin e cursed. La mia mente ha iniziato a girare mentre guardava la serie. Sono un caso perso ormai, son troppo fissata con i crossover. Era da parecchio che non entravo sul canale e mi ha fatto piacere vedere che hai continuato ad editare perché meritano di esser visti i tuoi video. Dopo quel finale anch'io non ho più visto nulla su merlin ora lo sto rivedendo in lingua originale, l'unica cosa che mi è dispiaciuta è aver perso i file, perché avevo un windows prima ora ho un mac e ho dovuto riscaricare la serie al completo ma non trovo la 5 stagione, prima era più semplice trovare gli episodi ora con tutti sti canali a pagamento si fa più fatica.

Hey! I just learned that we will have an anime version of The Requiem Of The Rose King!! I am so happy 😭 Awesome edit of The Weeping Monk by the way, his character was so interesting, and you know my opinion on Daniel Sharman, he was so impressive in the last season of Medici, but here, here he was both terrifying and fascinating to look at! Can’t wait to see the second season. (and his mysterious style reminds me of James Tyrrel in Requiem!) Can’t wait for the anime of Baraou, I got chills, I hope we won’t be disappointed by the art style and that it will look like the manga’s. Also, I wrote a little chapter of a fanficton of Cursed which is a crossover with Merlin, this is a Morgana Pendragon x The Weeping Monk fanfic, hope you are interested ;)

Thank you, really happy you liked this! And it's so cool to get so many book recs in comments that seem to parallel this series to an extent :D this Uther is a bit of a wildcard, isn't he? It's quite hard to get an actual grip on his longterm agenda and motivations. I'm not always sold on the actor who plays him so far, but I did like the writing revolving around him most of the time too. I'm just a tiny bit weirded out that it seems they have decided to make him and Arthur completely unrelated to one another...
Visuals are truly the #1 strength of the show, which makes it an absolute pleasure to edit with 😊
Did I just watch this again after JUST finishing all of this unique series.....um YES I DID AND THIS VIDEO HAS A WHOLE NEW MEANING TO ME after watching the scenes and *high five* for fellow Weeping Monk/Lancelot fangirl because he was just such an amazing incredible character those last few episodes WOW! Daniel was incredible!!! I can see what you mean about "hit and miss" with the series cause at times I'm like huh but it was this character that kept me going and you captured him beautifully in this video combining all his scenes {and also PLEASE do a Ben and Weeping Monk parallel video in the future because SO many! that scene in the tent with Father Calden definitely a huge one with him and of course Ben/Snoke but MAD PROPS on this incredible video and I look forward to many more videos with this amazing new favourite character of mine

@@irydionlover Yes, it does! I mean, for me, 'Cursed' Arthur, Merlin and Morgana will never top 'Merlin' Arthur, Merlin and Morgana, but! 'Cursed' Lancelot and Gawain already toped 'Merlin' Lancelot and Gwaine like multiple times! And I cannot wait for season two!
Ditto for season two! And Gawain ;_; I am so sad we probably won't be seeing any more of him, he was too awesome to have lasted so little. It's probably safe to say that 'Cursed' Percival easily tops Merlin's too, because Tom was always awesome but the character hardly had a personality there tbh. This Merlin is so wildly different from Colin's that I find it really hard to compare, and this Morgana I find potentially interesting depending on what they do with her (of course it's rather hard to top Katie :D), but on Arthur I will agree 3000x. I don't really like this actor in the role much so far, he often falls flat to me :/ but maybe in season 2 some of the cast I'm not that convinced by will grow on me, who knows? Things being as they are, this may be the *one* and only version where I vastly prefer Lancelot over Arthur though xD

But I still don't know where to put Nimue (not so great for main character :D). I definitely prefer 'Cursed' Lancelot and I think we didn't see Gawain for the last time :)

I still haven't watched this show, but I don't have to have to know that this is an incredible tribute.
Also **sing song voice** you have a tyyyyyype (but, like, the best of types).
Have I ever mentioned I adore how much thought goes into your song choices? Because I do. They're always so fitting for the character, and just elevate your already gorgeous editing so much. It's an amazing talent to be able to hit every single nail on the head when it comes to editing, and yet you make it look effortless.
MA'AM, That Merlin quote- you evil _genius_ , it fits so perfectly, and it's so seamlessly added, that I wouldn't have even noticed if I'm not always on the verge of a Merlin related meltdown.
I really wish I'd watched the show already so I could comment more on the nuances I'm sure you've captured flawlessly, because you always do, and even not being familiar with the character, I can see how cleverly you've captured him and his struggles.

Haha, thanks! I honestly can't get any credit for how pretty this show is, it makes it very easy for a video to look good! Story-wise...depends a lot if you're willing to put up with some doubtful choices and VERY loose correspondence between Arthurian characters in the show and their legendary counterparts so far (something that may and I hope will change in surprising ways in the future, if it gets renewed). And yesssss, this song just never goes out of style ♥
He is my favorite characters in the show. I love him. He doesn't has good children time, I would know it. He is Fay and famos Killer. Squirel and Lancelot are best. I need cursed 2 or Weeping monk only scene. Please.

@@irydionlover haha yes, from my point of view defenetly you should read it if you are interested in rangers, middle ages, knights, magic, kingdoms (there are even north "Vikings" and southern desert people. Those series are exactly about it. I think this show "Cursed" had a lot of inspiration from those books.

I did see you tweeting about this series a few days ago! I struggled with it a lot too at the beginning to be honest -- I don't know exactly what it is, maybe the pacing or some dialogue or that weird, weird ""historical"" context they should have just left alone because it doesn't make much sense at all 😅 -- so I totally understand why you couldn't really get into it. But, if it helps maybe making you give it another chance eventually, it gets a lot better towards the end imho. The characters themselves are interesting and get some promising development and unexpected interactions once they have room to breathe, and *those* name reveals at the very end just plain leave you wanting for more. Now I'm pretty curious to see how they can possibly take such a wildly different setup to the Arthurian characters we know...as long as Netflix doesn't just decide to pull another Marco Polo with this 😭. That said, I'm really really happy you liked the video nonetheless! I never expected it to happen, but this might very well be the fandom that makes me want to vid more of it right now 😊 (especially since the visuals are *so* pretty, too). I have a question about this. Is the boy in the first episode which we see sitting next to father Carden until his hand turns green supposed to be the Weeping monk as a kid, as a flashback? Because it was not clear for me if it was a flashback or a scene in present tense about a boy with the same hand magic.
I'm not 100% sure he is either (although the WM is uncharacteristically not shown as part of the intro raid to that village, so he could be? He also looks the part), but even if he is not I think it could still very well represent what happened to him as a child, and that's why I used it as such. Either way he has still gone through something very similar a long time ago 😔

Kiki Okai I’m pretty sure he was cause when the Green Knight was talking to him and asking him how could he betray his people (the Fay) and how he also new that he looked familiar because only the Ash Folk have those marks on their face and the Ash Folk are like a species/type of Fay.

Ahahahaha Daniel è un OTTIMO incentivo, honestly 😍 e mi piace veramente tanto in questo ruolo! Lo sentivo parlare ieri in un'intervista di come sia stata una sfida per lui trasmettere sensazioni su un personaggio solo da come si comporta e parlando pochissimo e beh, penso che ci sia riuscito egregiamente, perché tutte le puntate le passi a pensare 'c'è qualcosa in più che mi sfugge dietro a questo personaggio', o almeno per me è stato così. Poi ho un debole per i villains che in realtà sono molto isolati anche nel loro gruppo villain, spero sempre che succeda qualche rivolgimento interessante, e così è per lui...e dopo che ti lanciano la bomba del name reveal, le aspettative sono solo aumentate. La serie in sé ha alcuni elementi e momenti un po' dubbi, ma sono molto curiosa di dove vogliano andare a parare e di come pensino di ricollegarsi ad alcuni aspetti della leggenda arturiana, visto che per ora i punti di contatto non sono molti, devo dire. Se la guarderai, sarò molto curiosa di avere tue opinioni! (o anche solo di condividere un po' di sano sclero su Daniel, che male non fa :'D)

Anch'io sono piuttosto in Merlin mood dopo anni di allontanamento graduale per via di quel finale barbino -- una mia amica universitaria ha quasi finito di maratonarlo su Netflix, e a forza di discuterlo mi sono risaliti tutti i vecchi feels per serie and cast both T.T e subito dopo, neanche a farlo apposta, è arrivato un nuovo retelling arturiano su cui iperfissarsi. Tutto regolare! xD sono molto molto curiosa di come possano ricondurre personaggi con premesse così diverse alla leggenda, e dunque credo che aspetterò anch'io con ansia il prosieguo. Grazie mille, sono davvero contenta che i video continuino a farsi guardare nonostante gli anni che passano! ♥
@@irydionlover Appena ho visto il trailer mi sono detta: No, devo assolutamente vederlo. Poi sono fissata anch'io con il tema arturiano dunque non potevo lasciarmelo scappare. Pensavo addirittura ad un terzo video a tema crossover con merlin e cursed. La mia mente ha iniziato a girare mentre guardava la serie. Sono un caso perso ormai, son troppo fissata con i crossover. Era da parecchio che non entravo sul canale e mi ha fatto piacere vedere che hai continuato ad editare perché meritano di esser visti i tuoi video. Dopo quel finale anch'io non ho più visto nulla su merlin ora lo sto rivedendo in lingua originale, l'unica cosa che mi è dispiaciuta è aver perso i file, perché avevo un windows prima ora ho un mac e ho dovuto riscaricare la serie al completo ma non trovo la 5 stagione, prima era più semplice trovare gli episodi ora con tutti sti canali a pagamento si fa più fatica.

I am so happy 😭 Awesome edit of The Weeping Monk by the way, his character was so interesting, and you know my opinion on Daniel Sharman, he was so impressive in the last season of Medici, but here, here he was both terrifying and fascinating to look at!
