Interesting fact about the machine guns…
During the war, at the Mannerheim Line which saw the worst of the fighting, Finnish machine gunners often had to be taken away from the front lines during the worst of the fighting. But it wasn’t because of combat wounds.
At the height of the fighting, it wasn’t uncommon for hundreds of Soviets to die in a single wave charge that would ultimately fail, thanks to the strength of the line and the terrible leadership of the Soviets. As a result, machine gunners often scored dozens of kills a day.
Those machine gunners removed? They had to due to the mental toll of cutting down so many soviets in such a short time. Literally losing their minds because they were killing so many men so quickly…

This machine gun (M1910) continues to be effective. For example during the Ukrainian Civil War, the weapon was used by the Ukrainian army and the separatists. It is used today in the Russo-Ukrainian War, by the Ukrainian units and the Donbas militias, some as coaxial machine guns in technicals
