Today's tale is about hitting Diamond in Season 12 of Apex Legends - something that has eluded many players, me especially - and I've played since day 1. After reading a Dexerto article where Aceu gave some suggestions on ranking up, I tried to take at least one of them on board. 3 stacking wasn't an option as I wanted to know that other players weren't carrying me across the finish line, so it had to be solo queue. Sadly, as you will see - fate isn't without a sense of irony, but we're big on proving things to ourselves on this channel.
Our Legends today are Bloodhound and Pathfinder, and editing this episode was a bit tougher as the ranked battles on Olympus are more about timing and precision than action packed clips that can be bunched together. There was a huge amount of tension and I finally understood the reason they call the games "sweaty"!
Ranking up to Diamond in solo queue is something that I have been on a rollercoaster of emotions with, because I wanted to quit so many times when the randos dropped hot and left me 1v3 in the first fight for -36 RP. But I think Diamond is achieveable for anyone with an evolving awareness of their positioning, and the ability to learn from their previous decisions. The thing I learned most about this journey was patience...the hardest lesson of all.

Dude, your content is the most creative Apex content out there, in my opinion. The story-telling makes your videos so much more different from the other apex content I watch in yt, and their structure and episodic nature makes it feel like a television show.

As a solo that refuses to q with other people diamond is where I'm hard stuck at. Can't seem to get past diamond 2 since season 7. Mad respect to rag for actually playing the game and not ratting his way to diamond.

I keep going between plat 1-2 because for some reason the player base became three times worse than it was in bronze. People making the dumbest choices, all my teams landing hot and dying in the first thirty seconds. Etc
apparently there is a new system in place which is making it easier to climb the ranks.. all the pro players are mad about it because they work so hard to get there before and now its easier...
For what it's worth, Shiv said that climbing this season is much easier than in the past. Not sure why that is, because I've pretty much not played this season, but maybe there's something to it...
@@MagisterWigbo its just a business move.. the easier it is the more people that can make it to masters or pred the more people are more likely to keep playing for longer periods instead of rage uninstalling. also the more people that are playing and grinding to masters/pred the more money being spent on skins and battle passes etc. its a pretty shitty move but at the end of the day they are a business and we have the choice to invest in it or not.sorry for the essay lol
I also hit diamond for the first time a few days ago. First time I had really committed to it. The legend that got my over the line and amassed 700 RP for me in just five games: Bloodhound.
Platinum only works when you have a team behind you, and I found that being Bloodhound seems to encourage people to stay close to you, and you can help lead attacks. Also his ultimate is useful for chasing down kills or rescuing banners. I finally understood why everyone thinks Bloodhound is so OP!

Well they broke the RP system making it easier to gain points so all the hardstuck diamonds are now hitting masters just to be 10k hardstuck inflating pred lobbies making the competition too easy. Random hardstuck masters are now hitting pred. This is the worst rp decision in ranked ever and needs to be reverted back too more points on kill not placement! It takes more skill too kill then rat for top 5 every game
You know I’ve played this game since pre season and I’ve somewhat followed in your shadows in terms of ranked I just simply never had the play time to get up the ranks and now today I have finally hit diamond after watching your video it gave me some motivation! Keep up the work
Always appreciate people that can do the ranked grind. It's not for me. I lose interest somewhere in silver. And by "lose interest" I mean lose games and feel bad about myself.

My dude! Congrats, Rag, I know how much effort this push must have demanded from you. I'm 199 RP away from my first climb into Diamond IV myself (my closest was Plat I in season 8) and it's the first time in 12 seasons that I have enough time to cut the distance.
I'm already cringing at the idea of dropping into a 60-diamond-filled lobby, but hey, at least I'm not the only one dropping with a sinking feeling of impostor's syndrome! See you in the field!

Rag tagged is the most relatable apex player out there... Not to brag i was hard stuck gold2 2 sessions ago and I jumped to diamond 1 and I can't get out ive been solo queuing solos to get better at everything. Its nice
Solo q is a tough animal to tame. The sbmm is so junk that most of the players worth a nessie get bots! Keep up the journey man I'm hoping one day I make it to even 1/3 the growth you have got!!!
In apex since season one I had no idea how ranked worked so this season I gave it a shot since my friend wanted to. And by the end of the first split I hit diamond and I still can’t believe it.

I have set the same goal for myself, it's kinda because of your challenge I got back into apex. So far stuck in plat 4 with constant 100 + ping, packet loss anywhere from 3-98% and bad randoms every match. The solo Q struggles
