    This information is in valuable thank you so much fellow bunny friends. I did not want to get bent over by my local veterinarian. They made sweet love to me at a $700 marking price just because my female had one baby and stopped producing so they gave her a shot a hormone shot to induce pregnancy and the rest came out safely.

      My Angola bunny has had fur mites for over a week on her legs and back close to the tail, she lost fur on her front legs and see bear skin, does it work to drop the ivermectin 1-2 liquid drops on the back of her neck to kill fur mites for the entire body? Thanks.

      Any cooking oil is fine. And you can drop the ivermectin in the ear. But it can bug them so dropping it on the neck works just fine.

    I hope you see this comment as I know this video is 2 years old. Does the drops of ivermectin have to be measured exactly as per weight of the bunny? I have 2 bunnies way different in sizes. Or is it just a couple of drops either way?

    • @beardsbountifulbunnies1655
      @beardsbountifulbunnies1655 2 роки тому +2

      It doesn't matter the size of the bunny. Just a few drops per bunny. I do it till they start shaking thier head that means It hit the skin and they don't seem to like it but it is effective.

      @@beardsbountifulbunnies1655 oh thank you so much for your reply 🥰 I wasn’t completely sure so I put 3 drops on the smaller bunny and 4 on my bigger bunny. I hope that wasn’t too much. They seem fine. Unfortunately my cat picked up the fur mites and so I applied 4 drops on her as well. I heard ivermectin wasn’t very good for cats. However the revolution I put on her is doing nothing. In fact I am seeing it get worse. I just chanced it and applied it like that. I hope I put a proper dosage on them all. @@Splendid123456789 Hi splendid…..I actually have an Indian friend who helped me figure out how to dose it properly. So I wrote in my notes how to dose for small animals. I used the ivermectin from Tractor Supply (with the blue color). Anyhow this is how to dose…so you have to find out the weight of your animal and multiply .045 to the weight. But the .045 is only for dosing with that blue color ivermec. Umm the bunnies were extremely sick. They ended up having GI Stastis because of the stress of the fur mites. So I found a better solution. I ended up buying Food Grade (Has to be Food Grade otherwise it contains harsh chemicals) Diatomaceous Earth. Very carefully applying it to their fur and rubbing it as deep as you can. Doing it outdoors is much safer. But I found Diatomaceous Earth to be more effective and much safer….Hope this was helpful. Oh one more thing, in the beginning I did end up taking them to the vet and got them Revolution, but it didn’t work. If you bunnies have ear mites, I would try the oil thing as she’s advising in the video

    • @beardsbountifulbunnies1655
      @beardsbountifulbunnies1655 3 роки тому

      You can put it in the fur as well a few times a day to smother them. Oil does take at least a few days. It's not as quick and effective as the ivermectin is.

      Depends on how bad the mites are. Using oil it takes a few days. If you use the ivermectin it works super fast. And you can always do another dose in about 10 days to kill anything left over.

    Just started with meat rabbits. Brought the home and within 3 days one of my does got fur mites. We believe it was from the hay. I used the ivermectin paste (a pea size). We decided to treat all 3 rabbits. The one with the mite issue didn't take well to the treatment. We thought we were going to lose her, she stopped eating and was not moving around much at all. 48 hours later she's doing better.
    My question is can you use ivermectin (pour on type) with meat rabbits that are my breeders? How long should one wait before eating the fryers if we have had to use it on them....or would you recommend not treating the fryers?

    • @beardsbountifulbunnies1655
      @beardsbountifulbunnies1655 3 роки тому

      You can use it on all the rabbits it won't harm any of them. And normally you wait 30 days after use before eating them. So if they are close to butcher then don't worry about it.
