There is no competition here. Darren deserves this more than anyone. He played Andrew Cunanan with exceptionally charged emotions and understated elegance. A show-stopping scene-stealer. (I love Benedict Cumberbatch though)

From the moment I saw the scene w him in the parked car hysterically crying/laughing/in astonishment & disbelief (either after he killed Versace or after he realized they were looking for him) that he would win... he literally carried this entire season and I totally didn't expect that- I didn't even realize it would be an Andrew Cunanan story lol

I think this is the best win I've ever seen on the Emmy's! Darren Criss made me cry and feel pity for Andrew when he played that character! I know that Andrew did awful things but Darrin made him human and I loved watching the series, it was my guilty pleasure! Thank you Ryan Murphy for taking a chance on this exceptional young man!

This is ridiculous to me, I still can't believe it! I WATCHED GLEE BECAUSE OF HIM! (I'd never ever watched Glee before his first episode which considering how much of musical fan I am is in itself ridiculous, same with Arrowverse never seen them until he turned up! I am so happy for him and so very proud. A lot of us longtime fans have watched him since his youtube days with the starkids, and all his music numbers (did any one else have his song with Charlene Kaye Dress and Tie on repeat?) and were so happy when he got cast as Blaine on Glee - and now we get to see this talented fanboy on stage with an Emmy and it's just wonderful. Honestly couldn't help a few happy tears from escaping during his speech. Kudos my darling nugget!
