Roller Derby Pt 2 CANADIAN BRAVES VS BOMBERS

This a segment of the Roller Game of the Week series. This skating match was between the National Skating Derby Canadian Braves and the San Francisco Bay Bombers. Actually I would call it the Roller Games meet the Roller Derby. The Canadian Braves with Lester Quarles and his Entourage of Leroy Lambert who creates havoc. Great Skaters include the Great Annice Big Red Jensen, Paul The Bear Rupert, Diane Syverson, Sherry Jackson, Ann Calvello, Joan Weston, Bill Groll, Bob Hein, Ed Dresser, John Wrice, Jumpin Joe Perez, Peter Kelly, Skinny Minnie Miller, Delores Tucker, Rosetta Saunders, Cal Stephens and many other professionals of the banked track.

Unfortunately the derby skaters didn't like skating with all the games garbage like they're doing here with interference from the short guy and the rest so practically all of them,understandably, quit the league.

The name change had nothing to do with the quality of the personnel. These are the best skaters in the world 1960-1980, The trademark infringement using the name roller games and not roller derby has nothing to do with the quality of the skaters. These are the best in the world at this period in time. They’ll never be skaters as good as Ann Calvello, Skinny Miller, Lester Quarles, Dianne Severson, Judy Arnold, Ronnie Raines, Richard Brown, Mike Gammon, Jim Trotter, Joan Weston, Vinnie Gandalfo, Buddy Atkinson Sr & Jr. Judy Sowinski, Ronnie Robinson, Shirley Hardman, Otis Williams, Paul Rupert, Ruberta MItchell, Ralphie Valladares, Yolanda Trevino, Bill Groll, and many others. Don’t forget Elmer Anderson, the voice of the roller games.

Elmer was a great announcer as my memory of first seeing him was back in the early 70s when he was announcing for the Philadelphia Warriors.

Precisely. I used to watch this stuff as a kid. When you're a kid, it's entertaining. But then you realize all of it is a work.
