Do you think she has to step it up to compensate for her weight gain?" I guarantee 90% of the negative comments from other contestants were prompted. This show was shady af.

      Sounds like a typical “reality tv” show to me.
      A lot of women had their reputations in the industry & among the public damaged due to the show portraying them as entitled or drama-obsessed. In yet only one person per season gets a decent prize out of it. Totally not worth it

    • @sluttymctits4496
      @sluttymctits4496 2 роки тому +21

      Yeah, unfortunately this is standard fare for reality tv. The producers ask incredibly pointed questions, and the contestants have to answer in full sentences, repeating or rephrasing the asked question for a sound bite. I get the process, but it's still manipulative.

    • @hkazu63
      @hkazu63 2 роки тому +13

      It’s typical fare for reality TV. I remember back during C15, they had an Israeli Jewish contestant in Esther Petrack, who was observant of the Sabbath. When asked about whether or not she would do her modelling work on the Sabbath, she had a long discussion about it, but it was just edited down to “I will do it” bc they wanted to use it as a conflict story for her and since she was well liked by the production as a possible success story, they wanted to show her as overcoming this idea of an obstacle.

      she’s gorgeous and obviously a healthy weight but also obviously doesn’t have the “model” body type (naturally very thin, lean and elongated). i feel like that’s what they meant but obviously phrased it in a much more hurtful way, tbh i have no idea why they took her on in the first place when it was obvious from the get go she didn’t have that commercial body type.

    Shame on Tyra for trying embarrass Keenyah for "gaining weight" and while they were having dinner together? Seriously?? Teenage girls need to eat! For her to say something like that, about someone who is perfectly healthy and looks great, that would make a lot of girls at home question their own bodies. She looked amazing on the show, and she still looks amazing now. It's like Tyra was just trying to create some kind of conflict among the girls because they were getting along so well, and the show was supposed to be all for the drama.

It is actually so harmful and triggering to see someone who is so slim being called "heavy set" and acting as though you are obese (I'm a fat girl myself who is coming to accept myself for who I am) as people who are thin will see this and feel that they need to lose weight which can lead to some serious problems.

    Great to hear from Keenyah about her experience, she is more beautiful now than ever! The GoSees are so funny on the show, because an agent would push for the model to see every client over coming back to the agency at a certain time. For jobs, the call time for the models is often several hours before the actual job will take place.

    Love this collab! You two did a great job reviewing the episode. It's nice to hear your opinion as a young women and not a kid idolizing the show. My kid brain did not recognize the toxicity.

    those were very spoonfed lines. I know production was like "What do you think about Keenyah's weight?" "Do you think Keenyah is eating differently?"
    they induced conversations to make girls talk a certain way.

    And they’re together in this video. My heart is warmed lol

    I remember being Naima my favorite because I was so in love with her look, I loved her hair.
    Keenyah was cool as well and it was weird to me how they talked about her weight when she was not fat at all. There was noting wrong with her stomach but the judges acted like they had to edit 20 kg of fat off her stomach... they made such a big deal about it.
    Well Keenyah was always pretty but I think she's even prettier now her hair color really suits her. And she looks like she's 25 or something.
    I'm glad that she is a strong person because if they made such comments to someone who is insecure they could probably ruin their dreams, the girl would leave modeling world orrr the girl could also get an eating disorder. I know that's kinda extreme way of thinking but I think it could happen to someone who is not mentally strong as Keenyah.
    I think Keenyah was a realy good guest on your channel, she has a great personality. If you have a chance I would love to see her more, maybe if she even commented on other seasons 😁

    Keenyah was done really dirty but I’m surprised she didn’t bring up that the girls were probably being fed questions designed to make them talk about her weight, for example:
    “Do you think Keenyah is more competitive since gaining weight?”
    Yeah, I think Keenyah has definitely gotten more competitive since gaining weight.
    Then they cut the question and it looks like the girls keep bringing up Keenyah’s weight organically.

    Season 4 was BY FAR the BEST season in ANTM history. It had so much drama and crazy moments. From Rebecca fainting, to the shock 2x elimination to Tiffany getting yelled at by Tyra, to Keenyah and Brittany's heated argument, to Michelle breaking out and ppl thinking she had a virus, to the controversial graveyard shoot. Soo many memorable moments. Those were the good old days 😪

    Omg I’m living for this. Can’t wait for Sundays upload to see the rest 😍 Also I definitely watched her season when I was a little kid and didn’t see all the shade thrown about her weight and as a person who struggles with an ED and body dysmorphia I literally can’t stand this narrative that she’s over weight or eating too much.. like the girl had two chicken bones on her plate. Really how is that over eating?
