Had the carmteck levelers for 2 years. No stress cracks or problems at all. The pads get worn out from the rocks but that’s expected. You can just get some rubber from an industrial supply store after they wear out. Great review Ross, you’ll have these forever.
These look great, mine don't have the little grooves for the two parts to lock into each other. However, my brand came with anti-slip mats as well, which tore up very early on. They are pretty useless, although needed in many places. Thank you for this review.
These types of levelers work great if you have enough space between your wheels. My travel trailer has torsion axles and isn't so lucky with about 3" of clearance between the tires. Now, I still use the Andersen levelers, but I had to cut them down to where they start at 1" thick. Which is generally where they break anyways, so win. lol If I have to level less than 1" I just don't worry about it.
There are more buying options for ramp levelers now. It used to be the expensive Anderson brand were the only ones available. Years ago I built one from some 2x12 wood from drawings I found online. I only need one for my single axle trailer. They cost me next to nothing and are more robust than the red ones and they work great.
I have the Camco curved levelers, they have held up great… except that time I threw them in the back of the truck and drove to FL… one was missing but I’m still sure it was heavy enough to not blow out 😂
Thanks - I enjoy your videos and have learned so much. We just purchased a double axle trailer after having a tear drop. My husband I are having a ‘discussion’ on whether or not both tires on the side need a leveler under them. Can you put just one leveler under one of the tires? He thinks so. My concern is safety and whether it is bad for the camper. Thank you
We used the Anderson levelers on our travel trailer for years with no problems… unfortunately no go on our new motorhome! Even with “anti-slip mats” I guess it’s just too heavy and pushes them instead of rolling onto them!😒🤷🏻♂️
Probably a stupid question, total newbies here. We just bought these levelers. Let's say the campsite is level. Can we use these behind say the left and right rear wheels to use them as actual chocks while putting in regular chocks on the front wheels?
@RVTIPSANDTRAVELS yes multiple times. We have a farm nearby. If you travel there often we know several off the beaten path campgrounds, 2 are waterfront on Seneca Lake. Also several great places to eat.
weve gone twice, stayed at the KOA both times but spent a lot of time downtown. its a beautiful area. there is a walking trail that starts behind what i think was a highshool and goes down along the marina that we really enjoyed because it was so peaceful.
I recently tried to level using levelers on soft sand (one side, other was firm). The levelers I used simply dug into the sand. The rubber backing also came off. Tried blocks & they also dug into the sand. In this situation would a small sheet of plywood be helpful? Does it make a difference going forward or reverse when leveling??
Excellent question Glenn. Have never been in sand. It would make sense to increase the surface area with a board, but therein lies the problem with the limited space in an RV. Even in sand if you do get level, I’d imagine that it will sink enough with movement in the rig over time to where it would become unlevel. No easy fix for trying to level in sand, but hope you had a good trip. Leveling front or back makes no difference. I choose one or the other based on where I want the rv to be placed when I’m level. For example if I have a little room to move back, I back on the levelers.
yes! i got ya, i wasnt thinking... should be fine, they are rated for 35K lbs if i remember correctly. youll need 3 of them unfortunately to level sideways unless you are just raising one corner.
With the Newer Campers having all the Automatic Electric Hydraulic why fk with these levelers to raise up 1 inch on a side? The Hydraulic Pistons will level the Camper!
which new travel trailers come from the factory with hydraulic leveling? if there are any, its less than 1% of the market. 5th wheels come with hydraulic leveling, but not travel trailers.
@@RVTIPSANDTRAVELS All the new 5th Wheel Campers have the Electric Hydraulic Auto Leveling systems! Mine will lift the Wheels off the ground so a inch or two I am not going to waste time with Wheel chock levelers!
I know 5th wheels come with leveling systems, thats not what I asked you. You still need to level a travel trailer, and travel trailers outsell every other type of RV every year by far... Leveling ramps are for RV's WITHOUT leveling systems bud, and again, that is the large majority of the RV market.
@@RVTIPSANDTRAVELS So when did we stop calling 5th Wheels Travel Trailers?? I commented on campers/Travel Trailers 5th Wheels! I have owned 2-3 of Both an the Newer 5th Wheel Reflections I have has the Automatic Leveling System!
Every rv manufacturer distinguishes the hitching type of a towable by "travel trailer" or "5th wheel." EVERY SINGLE ONE. You can call a 5th wheel a travel trailer all you want, but if you go to ANY manufacturer site and search by "travel trailer" you will NOT see results for "5th wheels." Ever. Your inital question was why you would "fk" with leveling ramps when you have a auto-level system. You wouldn't. These are for trailers without auto-level systems. I think you're smart enough to know the difference between the 2 but are choosing to be difficult. I feel that I adequately answered your question. You have a great day!
My boyfriend uses these. He loves them. I think he just ordered the door lock too. Please stop giving him things to put in his cart! 🤣
😆😆😆

Thanks Brian.
i bought these after seeing the video, last trip out I had to level camper by myself and these worked great! just watched bubble in my mirror!
Great to hear!
My Anderson levelers worked good for about 1 year, then broke. Been using wood blocks since but going to order these.

Thank you for this review.
Thanks for watching Martina.
I had the same concern about the other levelers. Those, however, look really sturdy and the locking indents are a great addition.
Some of us don’t have auto levelers big guy. 😉 my water filter will be here tomorrow!
@@RVTIPSANDTRAVELS Lol!! Yeah, I’m going to erase my auto-level button with one that just says lazy. 😂
Thanks for another quick review!
Our pleasure!

In my cart.
Could you do a video on a weight and sway hitch? Would absolutely love that, and would be so helpful!
What are you looking for specifically?
I have the Camco curved levelers, they have held up great… except that time I threw them in the back of the truck and drove to FL… one was missing but I’m still sure it was heavy enough to not blow out 😂
🤣
I -95? around Brunswick, GA ?
Where is that gorge at the end of the video?
watkins glen NY, its beautiful there.
Good commercial
Thank you for watching.
Haven’t pulled the trigger on ramps yet. Might just be the time.
Very happy with them so far.

You win! definitely level both.
I've been using the Beech Lane levelers, which, like the Carmtek are a knock off of Anderson Levelers, for the 3rd season and have had no issues.
thanks for watching!

Try tapping the back of them with a rubber mallet so they start to wedge under the tire.
Probably a stupid question, total newbies here. We just bought these levelers. Let's say the campsite is level. Can we use these behind say the left and right rear wheels to use them as actual chocks while putting in regular chocks on the front wheels?
You can use the locking chocks that come with these as regular chocks.
The end of your video looks like you are filming in Watkins Glen State Park.
Nice catch, spot on. Have you hiked the gorge?
@RVTIPSANDTRAVELS yes multiple times. We have a farm nearby. If you travel there often we know several off the beaten path campgrounds, 2 are waterfront on Seneca Lake. Also several great places to eat.

Weird, I've used the Andersen ones at -20 Celsius for years and never had them break. Hmm.
I wouldnt say they all break, but ive seen enough online complaints to know that it is happening. What size is your RV?
Would you still recommend these? My husband works hard dragging out several different boards and I just want to make life a little easier for him.
Yes, definitely, and they are on sale right now: amzn.to/4eqIkbr
How would you cut these?
a band saw would probably be easiest. a sawzall would be fine too.
If we cut these, would that void the warranty?
No, as long as the cut isn’t longer than 4”. And you’ll only need to cut 1 of them.
Where are they made? If Cheeina, I don’t want them.
thanks for watching!

Am I correct that these are only good for travel trailers and not motorized RVs?
depends on a few things, weight, current leveling system, tire size, etc..
Is this a "private video" or is this a "commercial promo video"?
Private review.
Are these strong enough for a motorhome?
They are pressure tested up to 35,000 lbs.
Do you need these with an automatic leveling system?
Nope.
Does it work on dually trucks?
these dont go under the truck, they go under the RV.
I have a slide in truck camper though
yes! i got ya, i wasnt thinking... should be fine, they are rated for 35K lbs if i remember correctly. youll need 3 of them unfortunately to level sideways unless you are just raising one corner.
It would’ve been nice if you actually showed how to use it
There’s an animation on the screen at 1:10, as I’m explaining it. You just drive up on them.
