Something about the Gizz’s aura makes for unbelievable weather conditions. I was at the Boston show and we had Thunderstorms on the horizon. Rain off and on and to my weather vane, weather sync’d with the music. Thunder during the metal tunes, rain during the chilled out sections. I will never miss a Gizz show!
Looked up Yothu Yindi and Warumpi Band after Joey gave us homework the other night. Well I did my homework and heard Treaty and listened to it about 15 times because it hit so hard. I’m a white guy from America, but I have Native American blood on both sides and Indigenous Rights are important to me, so hearing that song tonight was just so damn special man. So beautiful and legendary.
Do you happen to know Midnight Oil? A fantastic Aussie band (non-indigenous) that was huge here in the 80s and still highly respected. They were explicitly political and campaigned hard for indigenous rights. Beds are Burning is probably their biggest hit and is about returning land to our aboriginal people. From memory, they toured with groups like Warumpi Band. We still desperately need bands like these that motivate people to get off their arses, see how bad things still are for first nations peoples, and act to make changes. Unfortunately that momentum in Australia (amongst the general public) has really stagnated in the last decade and it really saddens me. Seeing KGWK and KS play 'Treaty' together was really moving.
My first Gizz show was at Stanford. Was stoked that I saw the debut of Interior People. But I have to concede that this version was better. I'm glad that it's evolving.
@@plejer1067 well we have no clue what the album is called, and the tour is named The Phantom Island Tour, so until we get an album name that’s what I’m calling them!
2nd gizz show!! The trip has me putting some money away to move to Austin next year :) met a lot of amazing people. Jake from state farm, if you're reading this hit me up brother!!
Anybody else thinks the sounds at COTA had way too much heavy bass, here it sounds way better WTF! It felt like it was taking too much of the guitar sounds away...
Congrats to Mystery Jack's 100th Gizz show! 🎉❤

I was there too!! Everyone in the whole place vibing together in that exact moment was incredible!

I might still have the CD and I'm pretty sure I have the vinyl 12" single of the song.

this set's SET fucking rules
Transcendent show from a transcendent band.
I’m the blue cloaked wizard opening the pit in Mars For The Rich!
Saw them at the two Forest Hills shows, ready for the Phantom Island tour. 🔥

BYE BYE GONGHAI also great timestamp for the new song debut!
Gong but not forgotten
Tks!! ❤ hope you get that rail spot in Nola! 🦎
Best show in Texas tonight
Grow Wings and Fly was printed on a setlist so we can assume it might be a normal song now
Would be CRAZY if it ended up being a phantom island song.

I dont think it was the first but within like the first 5
During Wah Wah, the pit formed a row boat. If you want to see, I uploaded it as a short
everyone thought it was the river lol
Were you able to get King Stingray's set as well? If so, will it be uploaded pending on if the band and stream team allows it?
