I never played the original Perfect Dark but I really enjoyed this game for the sole reason you can have custom games with bots. When I was a kid I'd set up all sorts of scenarios and imagine stories of why each battle was taking place. The multiplayer was like a blank canvas and you didn't even have to git gud to enjoy it because you could change the difficulty and behaviour of the bots.
Man I totally understand where you are coming from! When I was in elementary school there was a game called Delta Force 2 (1999) and you could actually build and script your own missions. It was one of the first military sandbox shooters like call of duty
I’ve played the original Perfect Dark on my N64 when I was a kid and I beaten it. I also beaten Perfect Dark Zero on my Xbox 360 back in my 20s. But I haven’t played Perfect Dark on GameBoy Color
Geez what the heck ever happened to Perfect Dark? I remember it getting so much exposure leading up to the Xbox 360 launch then it was just dropped. Still awesome intro~ >w
Sequel was crap, that's what the problem was. It was originally designed for the XBox, then got "upgraded" to the XBox 360 so they could have a AAA title from Rare for it. Most of the original team that made the original PD was gone by now, with Rareware being a shell of its former self by the time this game was released.
This is one of my favourite intro's ever. First Rare game I played on an Xbox console. After that intro I thought oh man this is going to be better than the original... Then I started playing. The End.
Some bits of this game were a mess BUT the weapons were always really cool. A spinning disc that you can ricochet off walls to kill people and catch it with a baseball mitt? A gun that turned into a turret you could thrown on the ceiling? Mech suits you could use to fly around the map? A katana cane that I THINK could also block bullets? (I could be wrong) but man the weapons were fun in the same sandbox way Halo was.
oh my.... Times flies... I played this game, DAY ONE, fro 1 hour and 4 minutes... before red rings of death... 😞 I have a bad memory of this game.... But the introduction !!! mamamia. We used to hav better introduction back in the days (we couldn't have ray Tracing so I guess you have to let the consumer dream... LOL)
This was my first xbox 360 Live game :D i went out bought a cat cable bought a year long membership XD when i started hearing voices online i freaked XD being so used to text chat on pc online games and the freinds list system rocked
Rare lost the mood of the original. This is not dark AT ALL. The gameplay was horrible and too cartoony. If they lost the James Bond meets girrl power aesthetic, they would have had a presentable game that respected the original game. I think a remake is in order (since that is the current trend) that makes it close to the original while offering new gameplay. This was not smooth, dark, or mysterious at all. Too much emphasis on feeling futuristic and not on what perfect dark made you FEEL. Joanna can be a perfect strong female lead if you let her grow naturally. I was so disappointed in this game when I got it for the 360. It was one of the few that I had.
When i saw this intro i was like "ohhhhhhhhhhhh looks like the James Bond's movies DAAAAAAAMN THIS IS GONNA BE GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!" and when i saw the game i was "¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬" PD 64 rules =)
I'm probably the only one who dislikes this intro. There's nothing here that feels like Perfect Dark, it feels more like an edgy teenager game than anything else. The simplistic intro of the original is way better and perfectly captures the dark atmosphere of the game... no pun intended.
now, you guys have to be grateful that rareware is on the xbox now. if microsoft didn't intervene and take rareware's partnership.....this game or any rare games for xbox wouldn't exist. plus, rareware would've gone bankrupt due to nintendo's censorship habit.
@@dash7117 Thing is that Nintendo interfered throughout the years since they originally had the idea that at the end of each level in GoldenEye the guards would just stand up and shake each other's hands plus it was Nintendo that made Rare do the Starfox game for Gamecube instead of Dinosaur Planet
Unpopular Opinion, I actually liked this game. It was fun to play with my brother in co-op. I didn't play much of the multiplayer but it seemed solid, especially with them returning the bots mode from the original.
The game was super fun in co-op! Played it with my buddy back in the day when we'd have marathon 360 sessions. Halo, Gears, PDZero, Earth Defence Force, Army Of Two, Pay Day, Rainbow Six Vegas etc etc
Who made this intro? It looks like a James Bond opening, which is awesome. How the hell was the gameplay so dull? The N64 game was awesome, and Rare thought so too, since they remastered the original game some time later
The intro who knows but the song is called "Glitter Girl" by MorissonPoe. Awesome band, btw. The credits intro is Pearl Necklace (same band) which you don't hear the vocals because... well isn't that appropiet. Glitter Girl also is censored, lol. Original song is called Glitter Girl * Evil Side *.
Perfect Dark RIP :( all Weapons ❤ i love MagSec 4 Famas P90 ❤❤❤ NEW Perfect Dark ❤❤❤ How much Weapon? JAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How much Function? JAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Man, this intro is one of my all time favorites. It goes way harder than the game itself does. fun fact: this was gamespot's first video review, starred Greg Kasavsin, and dude pulled out a P90 (airsoft gun) for a throwaway joke lol
My first Xbox 360 game. I am a huge fan of Perfect Dark, I played the original on the N64 when I was growing up and I picked up the HD version of the game on the Xbox 360 when it came out (now playable on the Xbox One!). While I'm not a fan of what changes this game brought to the story and the characters, mainly Joanna, I still enjoyed playing it. :)
Still the hardest hitting intro to a game 😊. The 360 was the last game console to have a soul. First steel book special edition game I bought. Loved 🥰 this game.
While the game didn't fully live up to the hype of the original, it was enjoyable and this intro set a really amped mood, shame the game itself didn't fully follow through with the same feeling.
As much as I think the original Perfect Dark is a much better game, this isn't that bad of a game. I mean it isn't great and it's easy to see why Rare has been regarded for lower quality than before, but damn, it's still a pretty decent game.
Barely remember this game from 2005 but I remember having my parents buy me it because I lived how Dark had red in her hair. The most I can remember is up to the mission in the club tower at night?
I mean when I played this it still felt like I was playing a goldeneye/ perfect dark campaign which is what made it fun for me. Idk why it got so much hate.
hbgalore1 It's because people compare it to its predecessor but from my perspective of never having played the original Perfect Dark, I really liked this game. The combat arena with bots was my favourite thing.
I remember being gifted this game for tge christmas of 2006 I had loved the original game so i was hyped as he'll i put it in the tray the intro played somhow I got even more excited then the game play started... And wow it was dull my exitement went downhill faster than my hopes of having a girlfriend I played it for about an hour and never touched it again because i also got destroy all humans (which if you can't tell was a better game
Oh man, this intro does not hold up so many years later. Morrison Poe was still a banging choice of track and I listen to it still to this day, but OOF this clunky intro with jarring amounts of visual guff and, in a couple of places, janky animation that looks like they hadn't centred an element properly (prime example at 1:11)... It ain't as good as I remember!

Yeah. The katana is called the "Vibroblade" and has a secondary mode that creates a forceshield that is capable of stopping bullets.
this is one if the few intros from any game that i actually still remember to this day.

This intro would be perfect for Black Widow. The protagonist of this game almost looks like her
I think that’s the point is to look like a James Bond opening. The original Perfect Dark itself is a sort of “spin-off” of Goldeneye using its engine.
@@CrystalLaser It was a sequel without the licence, ^_^.
