I much prefer your older videos when you had to work for a living and find different park ups at night. Now it just seems like a channel fed on advertising 🤷🏼
I love the fact that you have done this test. Certainly it sounds like a good idea to have a dishwasher. However all that faffing around. Hardly seems worth it. And it's not a good idea to leave your dishes for a couple of days which will only invite flies and other creatures. Fast simpler and more hygienic to just wash after you've eaten. But there's no taking away from the fact that it's a good machine.
I feel like its the sort of thing you'll use a few dozen times if that then realize its more hassle than its worth. the main advantage i guess would be dishwashers generally use less water than doing it by hand which is a plus in a motorhome.
I wash up as i go when cooking and eating, it's the only way to stay on top of it, if you heat up your bowl/plate you're eating from it gives you enough time to wash up the final bit before you eat and i live alone and am not shy to say i lick my plate or bowl clean so it's easy to wash up.
hahahah love the video, i was actually pleasantly surprised with the results. I'm going to make sure I'm parked next to you from now on so i can just pop my washing up over 😀
Big fan of yours Darren, but for one bloke in a van this is simply pure laziness. In the time that you take to set it up your one or two plates and utensils could be washed, dried and put away. My advise to you is don't give your critics ammunition to beat you with.
The more and more equipment that gets put into the motorhome you start loosing the whole essence of the camping/motorhoming, great vid and review, agreed with a lot of others saying quicker to wash up by hand.
I am just using Disposable plates and cups, as I am making huge savings in time refueling the water tank. How much power it is using and how much time needs ?
You have many fans Daz but equally you have many critics, and this is just playing into the hands of your critics my friend. I've noticed lately that a few van life channels are turning into product advertisements, don't fall into that category or you will start to lose your fanbase mate.
I like it and want one for home as I live alone. A drawback to them is that your favourite mugs wont fit meaning you need to buy new dishwaster safe crockery similar to how microwaves required microwave safe plates .
By the time you've set it up, filled it with water, used lots of electric power even on the 29minute wash, you could have done the washing up about 20 times over, and much cheaper and so much faster 😂😂😂😂 you saved zero time and it actually costs you much more .....but it's a gadget, and we Brits sure love a gadget ❤....great Video by the way 😊
I've got a very similar one in my small kitchen, it's great! I'm only one person, it's great to pop the stuff in as you use it until you've got enough for a full load 👍. I usually stop it before it goes into drying mode which is useless, dab a tea towel on the tops of mugs and glasses, then leave the door slightly open, the warmth dries them off. Plastic never dries in a dishwasher. Please do a test on the eco mode, I use that thinking it's saving money 🤔. Great video 👍
I've got that dishwasher in my rental flat, (well it's slightly different) but obviously from the same factory with a different door and control panel on it. I got it as it has a water tank built in meaning I do not need to drill holes in the worktop for the water fill, and the drain hose can just go in the sink. For just one person its grate. Forgot to mention I only use half a Tesco dishwasher tablet as it bubbles up too much and saves money. When I next do a wash I'll plug in my energy monitoring plug and let you know how much power it uses.
I've measured the power usage with a power usage pass through plug and the dishwasher used 0.46KW/h. The max power draw was 834 watts. This was on a normal cycle which is called eco on my dishwasher.
We had a dishwasher in 22 Signal Regiment, Germany that was about 15ft long or more ,,,, steam heaven .... and designed to clean the plates of a regiment of 500 men and worked by a conveyor belt on a par with with power of a automatic car wash. In spite of all this and giving the machine due credit for working well, it was the case that, especially after the breakfast sitting, you still needed two soldiers on "Fatigues" at the end of the conveyor belt to get the egg, especially the yoke off of some plates by hand. Again, it was a great machine overall.
Fair play Daz working the washer out. It's probably cheaper than you using your gas to heat up water, n wash by hand in the van. Ideal for you cuz you don't stay at campsite every day to use their facilities. It's a good vlog, and like us that have the job of always washing up, it's an idea to think about getting. Keep it up, be safe...and yes your book is brilliant thank full you wrote it. We've learned a lot. Be safe. Gary n Ellen x
The noise was only your spoon and fork hitting the door when you closed it (you can see that on the video) turning it around made better sense. Still don't thing you need it, but like you said Daz.... gotta try it. keep on keepin on mate
Could you mount the washer in the garage space. I know it's out the way but it could be set up if your using a waste bucket for the water and it will be out the way 😊
Good review, but mate 'KEEP THINGS SIMPLE'. You have added more weight to the camper and over complicated a process of cleaning a few items of cutlery/crockery that would take a few minutes to wash and dry by hand. Obviously you are well financed and supported doing this channel but I feel many full time van lifers would find this video ranging from humorous to outright madness.
I follow you mate and never commented, I see little point in having one , loading it unloading it and running time, the job gets done fast and better in the sink, 10min job done
Mate that is so cool. I was thinking about getting one for my caravan and putting it in the awning. It would be interesting to see what the eco setting would use so please do a video. It uses less power on my dishwasher at home. Apparently it doesn’t heat the water so quickly to save on energy. As to the waste if you washed up in the bowl it would all end up in the tank. To get round it could you not have a drainer over the plug hole. If I get one I would just use another five ltr water bottle for the waste water to go in. Enjoy a lazy Sunday without washing up😂😂
Try eco. It will either use less power or water. You could run the waste through a fine mesh sieve like the ones used to sift flour, and then bin the solids after each wash.
When I wash up in my van, I wipe all the grease and food waste off everything before starting, as I don't want it blocking the narrow sink waste pipes and stinking out the grey waste tank. I think, with what you cook, your waste pipes will soon block. PS - in the time it took me to write this, I could have done the washing up in my van! A gadget too far...
Thanks for bringing us awesome vlogs, heres another vlog for you if you wish, Talking of ECOFLOW : Does your ecoflow work in really freezing conditions as, there are vlogs on youtube just lately regarding BLUETTI AC180 1800 1152WH , when you really need the power in really freezing conditions they DO NOT work, they turn on and then a second later it switches itself off and its fully charged.
If you are going to use the dishwasher, you would be best to have cups and plates that better fit the dishwasher. Not a lot of point if you can only fit half a dozen oversized items in it at a time, when you could fit two dozen regular sized cups, plates, bowls etc. Just saying from experience with my domestic size dishwasher.
wooooowww Daz...you've triggered a real dishwasher gate ;) For me 5L of water + ecoflow electricity sounds very good....for the dirt in the tank, did u check the hose filters online ? Hugs xxx
I was given a slimline dish washer second hand many year back. Being single you cannot store up enough dirty plates, pots and pans to make running the machine worth the effort. So you use your most useful frying pan and put in the washer. You have only a few items the rest of the day and the very next morning you want your frying pan back for breakfast. You withdraw it from the machine and handwash it in minutes. I predict within days you will find the pots and pans you use most will not make up a full load and you will be taking them back out of the machine and handwashing. You could of course by 7 pans and use the dishwasher once a week. Okay large families only. My best wishes to you in the meantime.
I don't agree with all the comments, I say a dishwasher regardless if there's only one person living in the van is a great thing, that's what these gadgets are for to make life easier leaving you more free time to do other stuff, Looks a nice bit of kit mate :)
Ok you already know what I think lol however 2 things - mine at home is a Bosch slimline - much bigger than yours but half the amount of standard BUT a technician for my dishwasher said only use “half a dishwasher tablet” which would definitely apply to your size and where is your dishwasher salt ? Never met a dishwasher that doesn’t use it. Thankfully the first gadget that you have bought that Andy is not interested in his exact words “ I could do it quicker & less water too !!” Xx
🤣 by the time you fill it, put the water in and set it up you could of had the washing up done! 🤣So funny Darren surely this is a joke! You can wash a couple of dishes and plates up in less than a minute, instead you are going to take over an hour to get that setup and consume power for 45 mins mins or what ever!!! 🤣🤣🤣 Nice one Darren, top guy but this is absolutely ridiculous
Thank you for showing us this. It seems too faffy, too big and takes too long. We wouldn’t have space in our camper and it’s not a priority. I think you may devalue your camper if you take the oven out. Might be good for a small flat.
Glad you mentioned the Cube. I bought one for a trip to Morocco, just as a back up. I followed all the instructions but could never wash away this taste that was left in the water. Almost a plastic after taste. For the price it's not really worth it.
I can see the attraction of a mini-dishwasher, Darren, but I think you demonstrated that there’s so much faffing about for the sake of a tiny amount of crockery and cutlery which you could have washed up by hand in under five minutes… but thank you for road testing the concept so we don’t have to. Also, a bit confused why you’ve put it on your glass cooker hood. Don’t you need to use it?
how hard is it to wash half a dozen plates a day ? 😂 Darren mate, you’ve become stir crazy in your van alone, as long as you can return it it’s good youtube content., you’ll be getting a washing machine next which admittedly is at least useful, think ashtray on a motorbike 😂
A. dont stand it on the glass cooker top, thats just mental. You need to protect the glass from vibration or it will shatter. Also now I have seen this in action, not for me, I'll stick to washing up by hand.
Don't think the dishwasher is cost effective if you compare it over a year with washing in sink. If you use the dishwasher twice a week that's 520 ltrs of water a year alone, which is better utilised for shower use in my opinion. Take care Daz.
Sorry bud but my ex wife insisted on a dishwasher when we had a new kitchen 30 years ago. By the time you have scraped the plates and rinsed them to load into the dish washer, you could have washed up. We used ours about 10 times in 20 years because there was only 3 of us. For one person it's a waste of time and money in my opinion it's just another gadget for bragging rights 😂
A cool gadget but what about water usage. Also the extra weight your carrying. A kettle of hot water squirt of washing liquid, 15minutes and washing up done .

2 hours 9 minutes to wash and dry 1 persons plate and pans, crazy and a waste of water and elec. Daz you really need to rethink seriously about what is important in your daily life. 🤔
For a family of 6 a dishwasher makes sense. For one bloke in a van it seems a bit mental.
Totally!
as much use as a chocolate teapot
Darren is mental and that's one of the reasons we like him 😅
Just lazy
I think you do not need any more gadgets. Just wash up the dishes after you have eaten.
I much prefer your older videos when you had to work for a living and find different park ups at night. Now it just seems like a channel fed on advertising 🤷🏼
Hate to say it but I have to agree, he's not alone in this though as so many other "Vanlife" UA-cam channels are just becoming one big advert.
Agree
???!!! What a total waste of money,time,effort,electricity. 😧
But there's no taking away from the fact that it's a good machine.
no flies get in the dishwasher fool
Daren the reason you make me laugh is I thought van life was minimalistic 😂😂
You've been doing vanlife for how many years and you think a dishwasher is the way forward 🤔
I won't be rushing out to buy one. ✌️ Thank you for saving me from wasting my money 😜 looks pretty big and when space is limited 😊
This is now a shopping channel
I love how happy you are with this 😅 save us a space next to you at future events - can't stand washing up 😜
Total waste of money
I agree lazy 😅

From the opening scene you make it clear it's a fun and quirky idea. I enjoyed the vid - pure entertainment, thank you.
As useful as a chocolate fireguard an idea live in a house it's easier.
Big fan of yours Darren, but for one bloke in a van this is simply pure laziness. In the time that you take to set it up your one or two plates and utensils could be washed, dried and put away. My advise to you is don't give your critics ammunition to beat you with.

What ever floats your boat Daz. Personally I think eat wash and go is easier lol

Plug hole filter, once finished just empty food into bin
Don’t let a dishwasher encourage your laziness Darren. Nice test though.
I do not think he needs any more encouragement. A sloth would find him lazy by comparison.
I've got that dishwasher in my rental flat, (well it's slightly different) but obviously from the same factory with a different door and control panel on it. Yes i remember we has one in Edinburgh barrocks also, you would be covered in sweat after each shift 🤣🤣
Great vlog on channel daz keep up the great vlog on travel s thanks for sharing your travel s
Great idea

Totally impractical but makes a change from power supplies 🤣🤣🤣
Could you mount the washer in the garage space. I know it's out the way but it could be set up if your using a waste bucket for the water and it will be out the way 😊
So instead of messing with a bag for water put a filter cage on the end of the water hose will catch all food. Less fuss of getting rid off
In the wrapper looks like a TV from the 50s lol
Good review, but mate 'KEEP THINGS SIMPLE'. Why the hell not! Many perks to using one. Add it to the routine, you have the space- lets see how you get on with it over the long term.
Try it on eco to see what the power usage is compared to normal
Nah, sorry Daz but not needed for a single bloke in a motorhome....youre getti g lazy now kidda 😅
I follow you mate and never commented, I see little point in having one , loading it unloading it and running time, the job gets done fast and better in the sink, 10min job done

New sales channel now?
The time it takes to load it, and the small amount it holds easier to just wash up!!!
I hate washing up with a passion, totally support ur decision 🎉🎉🎉🎉😂😂❤
Listen to the comments Darren it's a flop waste of time 🙁
I think you've been in that van on your own too long fella.
A dishwasher 😂😂😂
wooooowww Daz...you've triggered a real dishwasher gate ;) For me 5L of water + ecoflow electricity sounds very good....for the dirt in the tank, did u check the hose filters online ? Hugs xxx
Pick up an old ad-blue container, many get abandoned at petrol stations, generally 10 litre size which should suffice.
Great video. Love it when you review gadgets! 😅

I want to buy one for the house 😂😂😂
You must have electric to waste if you're using this! Surely its easier just to keep on top of dishes as you dirty them?
I am one of them "just wash the plates" guys you spoke of 😂
Saving money on hand moisturiser 👍🏻😆
🤣 by the time you fill it, put the water in and set it up you could of had the washing up done! 🤣So funny Darren surely this is a joke! Eco cleans at a lower heat but for a longer time = less electricity
No more washing up, sounds good to me! Take care mate ….Smithy
Data, make sure you use a good quality tablet. Personally I find the Fairy platinum are the best. It really does make a HUGE difference.
Was it another freebie for promotion like the diesel heater ? Or did you buy this one ?
As I said in the video I bought this in Black Friday sales 👍🏻
@ oh ok I wouldn’t buy one I did the autorerm tho n a love it
Thank you for showing us this. It seems too faffy, too big and takes too long. We wouldn’t have space in our camper and it’s not a priority. I think you may devalue your camper if you take the oven out. Might be good for a small flat.

You make me laugh 😂😂
How much power would it use if you were to dry the dishes your self?
BBQ=paper plates and a bin bag 😂
Luv your videos but this one I don’t see the point each to their own 👍
Great video thanks for sharing 👍
Hope your good pal 👍 great video👌. Have a great day my friend

Great tool.
Eco is takes longer to heat, I checked my home one using an electrical meter and it was much cheaper but took 3hours 😮.
A. dont stand it on the glass cooker top, thats just mental. You need to protect the glass from vibration or it will shatter. Also now I have seen this in action, not for me, I'll stick to washing up by hand.

King Henry the eighth is back !
Don't mix metal types in a dishwasher. The metals will corrode each other. I've never seen it this quick, but I've never used stainless steel bowls.
Lmao love watching your videos dish washer is cool 😎 lol
Blimey how after many many years full timing have i never thought of a dish washer in our motorhome. Of course this is a wind up.
I was going to put the Loch Capsual dishwasher in my van because specs and features on paper were ideal unfortunately the company were terrible to deal with so I ended up doing a charge back through my bank to get my money back and most of the honest reviews are pretty terrible. So I looked at your model but it's just physically too big fir me. But that aside I see no reason why not to use a dish washer if you have space and power for it
Well I like it 👍🏼😁
Yes do an eco wash just to compare
Hi Darren, you will find that putting cheap stainless steel in a dishwasher, you will start getting rust spots, better just hand washing the stainless 😢😢😢😢
Really? Use paper plates and cups if you hate cleaning up.
I had a dishwasher once but divorced her, then got a newer model :-)
Swopping an oven for a dish washer baffled me (?) . Entertaining viewing though Daz .
2 hours 9 minutes to wash and dry 1 persons plate and pans, crazy and a waste of water and elec. Daz you really need to rethink seriously about what is important in your daily life. 🤔
Did you not have to put any dishwasher salt in it or did i miss that bit lol
