I am a 7th Grade Student at Millard Central Middle School. My World Studies teacher taught at Bryan Elementary School during 9/11 (another Millard school). He told us that every Millard School was on Lockdown and it was dead silent because there was no air travel going on at the time. He was used to hearing planes because Bryan is near the Millard Airport. But he said every couple minutes he would look out the window just to check outside. At that time him and his students were looking at this tiny tv that he had in his classroom looking at the news. All the sudden he heard the noise of huge Aircraft Engine Noises and just thought it could have been planes that couldn't have made it to Eppley Airfield (the normal commercial and freight airport of Omaha) but then when he looked outside and looked in the air he saw Air Force One flying above his school going to land into Offutt Airforce Base. He has never forgotten that day. I pay my respects to everyone lost on the 9/11 attacks.
I saw with my eyes the plane that hit the Pentagon. Surreal moment of my life. I saw it from the 8th floor of my apartment about 3 minutes before it nosed dived into the building. I saw the commercial jet and a propeller military plane following it. The military plane veered right and the commercial jet then nose dived. I saw a helicopter coming from Rossyln, Va towards both planes right as the jet began to nose dive. It is a memory I will never forget.
