I appreciate the advice but I'm pretty sure that my dog would pull the plastic off, chew it up and in the process consume some of those magnets and that can be deadly to your dog. Be careful with this. I've considered using a rhino lining type of paint on my interior door.
wouldn't work for my dog unfortunately, cos he's torn the whole door up, got down to the glass! he's not just going for the handle area, but all across the door, he has eaten huge gouges and wood gone,
Thanks for the magnet idea. I just had my house painted and new paint on the back door that was scratched by my cats letting me know they were wanting to come in the house. I won't need that heavy plastic, but with my metal door the magnets will work good. I'm using some light weight plastic with painters tape for now.
@@cantgetright4241 go troll someone else.. in fact id love to see you troll my GSD. He is a working, imported line PPD. Now hurry along and google the abbreviations lol
@@cantgetright4241 Most of us looking at this video don't like it when animals are destructive yet know that there is usually a reason and solution for the unwanted behavior. We're responsible pet owners and know that having a pet is a give and take proposition. We treat their lives with respect and gain much from their companionship. We have chosen to have pets and fully accept what comes with their ownership. We don't snuff their lives out when things get rough. In all honesty, I hope to heck you don't have children.......they too can be destructive and I wonder how you would handle that situation.
+Creative Mechanic That was my real question- do the magnets hold the plastic in place. I was thinking the dogs might be able to pull the plastic carpet protector from the door. Cool idea!
This is a passive aggressive solution. Always deal with issues head on. Passive aggressive only works for so long before you actually have to deal with the problem.
I love his comment at the end. So true haha.
But what about the outside mine scratch on the outside, problem with that I can't supervise them if they chew the plastic or magnets

Thanks for the idea. Our dogs have practically destroyed our frame. We live in the north and it is hard in the winter just to leave the door open.

Let me know if this works.
+Teresa Johnson It works well, they still scratch, but the plastic stays in place and protects the door, and the door frame.

Genius
Or just use rat poison
Thumb tacs work too

You must not have a dog that can tear chunks off your cabinets. Cuz mine would tear that thing right off. I need a truly indestructible door.
