  • The Fosi K5 pro! Not to be confused with the K5 from Fiio, that’s a whole different product. As always, I did a review about another Fosi product in the past and was pretty pleased with the product. The main issue that I had was that for gamers, there is no mic input! Which is sort of essential if you are gaming with your mates. The K5 does have one! That means that the K5 has to be a bit better that the other Fosi product. So, let’s dive in a bit deeper and see what the K5 looks like.

    I'm all for a DAC/Headphone Amp that is +Women. Some may call it noise, but I call it music. We don't want our women, or audio, too "bottom heavy." For a few weeks until the break-up, of course, because even the most perfect bottom doesn't overcome the "noise" problem (haha). (No, no, it's not like that. I break up with audio gear far more frequently than I do with women).
    Fosi audio has impressed me repeatedly, and it's nice to see this thing isn't that bad. They always hit the price:performance sweet spot, and for the multiple products I've purchased of theirs, some of them now doing heavy duty duty with friends, they hold up over time. They do have more audiophile offerings, stuff more intended for music than it is for gaming. Seems this thing it tuned "just right" for it's audience.
    It's tough to find really fantastic "audiophile" gear that makes music reduce you to tears that is also useful for gaming. Different audiences, very different.

      Hahaha best comment ever. "bottom heavy". After some time, top heavy will become middle heavy also. Which is also something we must overcome.
      Ok seriously. I agree with you 100% Fosi makes products which hit the sweet spot in quality and price. I've been using the K5 Pro now as my main dac/adc for gaming for some time now and I find that there is only one thing really wrong with it. There is no monitoring function on it. So when I use a closed headset, I end up shouting because I cannot hear myself. But that's it.

    Good you still make those videos, no one really care about those cheap dacs with detailed testing and measurement. Maybe only few most common models. Imo still best price-quality is used g6 but those cards have their own problems too.

      I find that Creative products all have issues that make them not the best of the best. But the G6 is very good indeed!

      I got 3 used creative cards xfi hd, usb and xfi usb 5.1 and had never problem with them on windows 10. Now i have g6 i need reactivate direct mode every pc lunch cause i got noise in background and card can sometimes go off if you listen 24bit songs or listen some advanced audio in game(reactivating direct mode helps too). But overall sound the greatest from those 3 cards and its pleasure to listen it on my audiotechnicas ath550z and onkyo cd receiver(i make pc speakers from it by aux) great card but i got problem and many people have it too i hope they made g6+ with usb c and they fix most of bugs, to use g6 you need be a computer guy a little bit its not a gear who lunch and work. Btw great review @@AntonsHardware

    I decided to buy that headphone amp because it provides mic and headphones inputs on a front side. It is convenient for work calls\meetings to have it in front. I bought an external monitor, and I plan to use that DAC/amp with Creative Pebble USB powered desktop speakers. My sound quality expectations are really low, because all my previous Chinese DAC/amps in price range 40$ - $100 were worse than Schiit Audio products, like Modi or Magni. This thing is about everyday use convenience and not sound quality.

    Hahaha love the content man. Always refreshing. I got a Titanium HD that I'll be modifying soon. I need an Essence STX II soon as well!

      Cool! I love modifying stuff, but I'm extremely bad at it and in the end I always destroy it. Like my Titantium HD was, well... destroyed by tinkering...

    Which parts are most likely faulty on the Xonar Xense? Its amplification is faulty just like a not yet repaired 1976 receiver.

      @AntonsHardware  Рік тому

      Yes, to my knowledge Asus didn't put those soundcard together with quality in mind. I have 3 Xonar Phoebus cards and they are all broken. So yes, the opamps could be faulty.

    Hah.. Very well detailed, specifically for its internal components.. I just wish this model has swappable OpAmps..

    Is the (blue pcb) Ultron FT8738-4E 4 Channels Sound soundcard, which only is quadrophonic, interesting? It´s 4,85€.

      @AntonsHardware  Рік тому

      No! Abolutly not. It used an aged C Media chip which is the worst of the entire series. Also it's PCI and not PCI express. It does have a gameport if you have one of those old joysticks.

    Does the bass can be fixed by nobs? Im one of those weirdos that play with music, and something watch movies in the night in the console. I play not just shooters or very competitive at least, just need some improvements in quality but not loose bass to much.

    • @AntonsHardware
      @AntonsHardware  10 місяців тому

      Yes, with one of the nobs you can adjust the bass! :D

    Hey Anton!
    Thank you for another informative video. I have a question as well - if you had a hundred euros and had to buy an soundcard that you would use in the future from now on, which one would you choose? Looking forward to your insights!"

    • @AntonsHardware
      @AntonsHardware  Рік тому

      That is a very difficult question. Would I just use it for music, gaming or both. If it's all, then I think I'd choose the EPOS Sennheiser GSX 300.

      Soar DLX!!!! I want that one so badly! The ZxR is good though, but I think the DLX is better.
