It's amazing that most people don't know that Magnus Ver Magnusson DID compete post 1997 World's Strongest Man Qualifying Heats (where he didn't make it to the finals). Everyone thinks he retired in 1997, but he didn't. He continued to compete for many years after that, just not at World's Strongest Man. He even won Iceland's Strongest man for many more years.

What was this actual competition? Was it a Super Series held in Holland?
This was the IFSA Holland Grand Prix 2005. I think it was the only competition Magnus did outside of Iceland after 2002 but I might be mistaken.
@@strongmanvhs8125 I am not sure. I know he competed outside of Iceland many times in the late 90's and early 2000's mostly for AFSA Full Strength Challenge (Manfred Hoeberl's federation that was competing against IFSA at the time), but I'm not sure about after 2002. When was his last year that he competed at Iceland's Strongest Man? 2005 or 2006?
@@Danimal77 Last time he competed at Iceland's Strongest Man was in 2004, but he did other Icelandic comps up until 2007.
@@strongmanvhs8125 He definitely competed in the 2005 Westfjord Viking which was held in Iceland.
@@Danimal77 Yes he also competed in the Westfjord Viking 2007 when he tore his bicep halfway through the comp. I think he retired from strongman after that.
