Softener actually rehydrates tissues, but it’s a sort of wax. So while it rehydrates fibers and ‘adds’ fragrance, it also give that permastink me life! I love the vinegar idea to solve this ‘problem’ my wife says I have, even though as I tell her, “You love it; you married it.”
Adding heat makes chemical reactions happen more quickly, so that’s a good common sense idea.
I think you and my wife could be great friends.
I wash all my clothes (stinky or not) with vinegar, it works great as a fabric softener. Vinegar has many uses!
Vinegar Definitely helps. Was just passing through but enjoyed the quality of the video and intro.
Started looking at other videos for cooking ideas and made a follower out of me.
If I wash laundry with vinegar with highest temperature, example 95 degrees Celsius, will I risk my clothes shrink or damage?
scent booster, dryer sheets and many detergents have so many bad chemicals. Some say that they can even cause cancer. I like the free and clear, and the vinegar is a great idea.
How will it keep from smelling when I sweat in the summer.
I use Gold Bond. They have a product specifically for preventing swamp ass..
Your washing machine looks like a computer..
Can it be apple vinegar?
Arm and Hammer also works.
Those boosters are toxic af. Makes me break out and itch uncontrollable
Just use Odo-Ban.
Hi, does the vinegar have to be distilled? Or can I use regular white vinegar?
That's a great question. I think you can use any Vinegar. I got mine at Costco or Sam's Club in a duo pack.

Thanks! My wife washed a load of clothes, and then went out of town for the weekend (without my being aware of clothes in the washer!), so needless to say they smell RIPE!!! Need all the help I can get resurrecting this load of laundry, and if I can accomplish it before she gets back, major brownie points for me!
Hey Chris,
I hope that you were able to get that yucky smell out of your clothes. If it sits in the washer too long then you just need to re-wash it again.
