If the system is unable to be regenerated, you'll need to depressurize the entire home. To do this, you'll want to shut the main water off and run a faucet until there is no water left. Hope that helps! -Aplus Water
@@AplusWaterLLC Thank you for the info. I have another question. My 5600 sxt screen is dead, I change the 24vac power supply but that didn't help. Is the controll board bad?
@@wsurfer2147 If replacing the transformer did not help, there is a good chance that the circuit board is to blame for no power to the valve. (assuming the outlet that the system is plugged into is working properly)- Aplus Water
@@AplusWaterLLC Thank you. I replaced the transformer but it also died. Because i think there is a short somewhere in the controll head. The original tramsformer died. I did check the outlet by plugging a light and it was fine.
I have a 5600sxt. Flow rate was 0.0 per diagnostic check, so I just cleaned out the control valve assembly and made sure there were no built-up iron deposits remaining. I put it back together and, still, flow rate is 0.0. When I turn a faucet on, the flow indicator (water droplet icon) does not show up, and the "gallons remaining" number does not change. I can successfully run a regeneration cycle and everything works (brine draw, fill, etc., with a good float assembly). What is my next step? I think the control valve assembly is in good shape.
put your unit on bypass, take your meter off and grab needle nose pliers. unscrew the turbine side with the the pliers spread out, there are two magnets on the turbine that build up with dirt and stop your meter from turning. use a knife or wipe the dirt off stick it back in blow in it and if you hear it woosh around ur good if it does and still doesnt appear it would be the meter cable
What is the lifespan of the 5600sxt? I ask because I currently have one installed in my home, which is about 15 years old. So, how does one determine the condition of the unit. I've never had any errors with the unit in 15 years, but is it time to swap out for a new 5600sxt. If I do decide to swap out, should I buy the entire device, or do you think I would only need a tank? Thank you for any help you can provide.
Hi! It really depends on water quality and water usage for how long a system may last. The only way to know it is time for a new one is when the old one goes out on you. If your current system is running fine, there's no reason to upgrade just yet. Whether you buy a complete new system or just new resin is up to you! There are benefits to both, such as new warranties on a new system or saving on cost by doing just resin. Feel free to give us a call and pick our brains regarding your situation. We are happy to help!- Aplus Water
Hi, If you're only going to be gone for a while, just unplug the system from the outlet. This will prevent it from regenerating while you're gone. No need to depressurize or bypass the system! Whenever you get back, you'll just plug the valve back in and reset the time of day. The programming will remain indefinitely for you. Hope that helps! - Aplus Water
Great question! When the valve does not have any power to it, you will have to depressurize your entire house. To do this, shut off the water to the whole house using the main water shut off and then run a cold water faucet until the water stops coming out. Hopefully that helps! - Aplus Water
Hey I just installed one of these I bought on Amazon followed all the program instructions, and I have no water output and an error code 1 on the display. I double checked the water direction ( inlet and outlet) inlet being on the right facing the controller. I did 2 complete Regens. I only get water output in the bypass position. Do you have any ideas why it's not working?
Hi, Usually when there is no water output to the home, we tell our customers to verify the direction of the check valve on the control valve. When the check valve is on the wrong side (output side not input side) or backwards on the correct side, it can cause this issue. You can always give us a call and one of our techs can walk you through that as well! Hopefully this helps! - Aplus Water
During the last four years, we have had no problems with the same model, but now we are experiencing continuous drain, and softener tank is completely empty, would it be possible for you to suggest any solutions?
Hi! Continuous leak to the drain is usually a red flag that the main piston seals of the valve are either worn down or compromised by debris. Once you replace/clean those seals, you should be back to normal operation. Hope that helps! - Aplus Water
DIYer here...Thank you for these videos!!!
Hey Zander, love your videos! Super clear and you cover everything I need to know, much appreciated!! Hope you get a raise 😊

Should i depressurize and bypass when going on vacation?? Say 7 days ?

Yes thank you
Is the turbine valve necessary if it’s an AIO that recharges every 3 days anyway?
Hi! An air injection system will not use a meter. It runs strictly on the day override setting. Hope that helps! -Aplus Water
@@AplusWaterLLC thanks for the reply!
What size media is recommended for the 5600 sxt?
Or what's the minimum?
Hi! The amount of media you can use depends more on the tank size than the type of valve. It also depends what media you are using. -Aplus Water
