The scare actors were brilliant here. I went yesterday. When you get off the ride you have to go through some double doors into a room full of walkers. I was there with my nephew who’s 13 and was not scared till this point. The teenagers we were riding with were too scared to go through the door first, so I opened the door so everyone ran in. This is where my nephew freaked and got too scared. I held him and backed against the doors so we could wait until the room calmed down and everyone had ran through. Straight away a walker came over and told us to wait there while they scared everyone out of the room. Then they came back to us acting normal and escorted us through so no one would jump out. They were so nice to my nephew who felt a bit stupid once he got out. 😂 Massive thank you to those guys! Brilliant actors and so professional!

When I first got onto the coaster, I genuinely thought it was a slow ride with actors coming near us and scaring us so me and my best friend were already terrified. After the rollercoaster completely dipped, we hardcore SCREAMED. rip everyone riding with us 😭

Genuinely such an underrated ride. The feeling of walking through the halls is so eery that its not to sprint. The smells are strong and it really feels like how it would smell in the show. The ride itself isn’t super intense, but thats not the point. Its supposed to be more atmospheric than intense, and it did that so well. Altho there are not as many actors anymore, it is still an incredible experience. I really don’t understand the hate. As a walking dead fan it is so cool to see all the references to the show, the boxes which say “property of negan” michones katana at the beginning, the 3 questions. It is genuinely such a great ride for me, the hate is so undeserved!

At the start when you walk in the hallways, I closed my eyes and held on to my friend and ended up walking in to the wall😂 then I realised it didn’t even start until we got to the line🤦🏻♀️🤣
Lol when I was there for the second time (a year ish gap) it was like 3X darker at the start... So me not being able to see A THING kept accidentally walking into the people in front of us (me and ma friend) and touching them thinking they were zombies.
They thought I was a zombie, so they screamed and ran to the front 🤣🤣 God I felt so bad!

I've never rode x so I cant say the walking dead is better or worse. However it is terrifying running through the corridors not knowing if the people around you are the actors as zombies or other people. And there was much more to see during the actual ride such as zombies that swung towards you and tv screens but this video is too dark to notice that
Me and my 4 friends went on this and one of which had a panic attack so we had to get the ’zombies’ to stop acting🥴

I went on it yesterday n Im gonna be going on it tomorrow and they’ve done so many updates and I can’t tell u how terrifying it is same with ghost train, the actors have really improved, and the video at the start has gotten better. People were way more relaxed on this ride then ur usually r

The most recent coaster they added was Swarm back in 2012, it's been almost 10 years since they added a new coaster
That's X with a lick of paint, Didn't even bother to do any building work.
Amazing, underrated experience and it's terrifying walking through the dark walkways, even if there are no actors!
This ride is genuinely really good. It might be a bit lazy with some of the theming on the ride but the overall experience is fun and spooky and is really good with walkers in the ending corridor
I loved x, I loved the nightclub theme of it and how the coaster was indoors and the only light source was the colourful lights, really gonna miss x

If the queue is longer than 10 minutes, don’t bother. Jump on and off the wall 10 steps away for a minute, it’ll feel the same.

Seriously, you NEED to try it yourself. Because I thought the same and went on and it was really fun mainly as I was running away afterwards and the whole atmosphere and theming was so great.
This was incredibly fun to go on. I went on this ride a day ago with my friends and it was so fun. The actual roller coaster might look awful in this video since it's just pitch black but it isn't actually as dark as it looks here. Sadly there were no Walker actors when I went due to covid I think which was a shame but still fun as hell!

Wouldn’t it be nice if we got a new intense rollercoaster with a medieval theme? Or perhaps a pirate theme? It sounds childish. But god damn, it’s more interesting than this.

Does anyone remember the original X- No way Out ride? When it was backwards and faster in the dark. I miss it so much! I think that was in the early 2000s until someone got hurt on the ride...

In 2023 I’m 12 and going in this ride made me so scared. I like how he started screaming at the monitor or whatever he’s holding. And at the side you see the whole park getting infected by zombies. It’s so cool and the coaster I LOVE IT! I wonder why it gets so much hate

Bro I went on this ride and when the rollercoaster stopped and we got off I was like oh crap do we have to run now. Then we were running away from a group of walkers and one of them was right in front of me when we got to the end of the corridor. I didn't see an exit out of the room until I looked behind me to the right. I went through the curtains and as I made my way down the corridors it had some sort of illusion that made me see things weirdly. I liked it.
This is the ONLY ride my friends wanted to go on when we went. I missed a great chance to go on Hyperia…

This is definitely not worse than X in any way, as people are suggesting. It's not the best ride in the world but it's a good use of the existing coaster. I loved X in all it's forms but it was old and tired. This is actually a really good retheme job if you take it for what it is.
Rode this last week, it was quite good, it wasn't amazing but I wasn't completely disappointed with it!
Had fun at Thorpe park. I think cos I didn't go on this or Derren's ghost Train. They should think up some more exciting themes

OMG I went Thorpe park yesterday and this ride was my FAVOURITE
X no way out was the first ‘big’ ride I rode at about 10 years old. Loved it. Doesn’t look so good now :/
i went on this ride with my mum and my younger sister because my mum thought it would be a train ride but when we got in the room and the door shut me and sister got scared and when we had to walk through the corridor we were holding on to my mum, we couldn’t properly see anything because there were barely any light at the time and we didn’t know where the corridor was heading us until we got the ride and my mum had to go with my sister because she’s young so that meant i had to go with someone i didn’t know. i was by the wall and the guy i was with was near the entrance where we entered and i was scared at that point because i was on the second last row in front of my mum and sister, i had a hoodie on at the time and i put it over my head so i couldn’t see anything (worst thing to ever do) and i felt the seatbelt thingy (don’t know what it’s called) and the worker said he’ll give us a warning/countdown for when the ride will start… he didn’t do it all i knew is that i felt the ride go down and people are screaming i’m half way at the point of cry and half way through the ride it stops and apparently there was a screen (i didn’t know cuz my head was still covered with my hoodie) and there was a male’s voice coming from it “oh we’re stuck dang it, come on!” and the ride was like trying to move(making it seem like we’re actually stuck) then again without warning it starts going again and i felt it going up and then it stopped i didn’t move because i didn’t trust anyone but i heard my mum calling me saying it’s done come up then i got up and we were together walking passed people dressed as zombies and my mum turned into a karen and said “stop it! i have children here!” i wanted to laugh but i was too scared and we finally got out.
i’m never trusting my mum with rides again… we then later went of kids rides :)

I was 9 or 10 when I went on this, as I knew their were actors, you could barely get me through the doors! Little did I know that on weekdays there are no actors there, I made a fool of myself!! Apart from that, the ride was a bit boring (my photo says otherwise, I was clinging onto my aunt almost crying while she was laughing out loud!) I stillavoid the rides on weekends, but apart from that I don’t mind it.
Just bring back x no way out its probably scarier and better
Jimmy Miller x wasn’t a scary themed coaster, it was nightclub themed and it was awesome, it was a slow one but the music and the colourful lights made it an amazing experience
X was a quality coaster and I can't believe we lost it for THAT

If you’re talking about the original 1996 ride, I’d probably say yes.
If you’re talking about the 2013 re-theme, I’d say no.
Quite honestly a waste of money and a dying franchise. I used to enjoy TWD but It just got boring they could of easily done so much more with the ride. or even replaced it with something far more interesting. I don't know how much it cost but It could of been so much better. That mid course break run could of been something like "The Mummy at universal" I would of much preferred to see something like that. Quite honestly would prefer to see a real dark ride or indoor coaster.
Merlin should just make every ride at Thorpe horror themed, while their on a roll with this theme.

Didn't get the pre-show when I went on it the other day. I think they've stopped it probably due to Covid so the story was pretty much non-existent for me. You just enter the building and walk through the corridors now but it was still a fun experience. And the ride itself is still an intense ride just with different theming.

No, there’s only one route out. Worth asking the staff at the queue if they are present the day of your visit.

Is there any actors during the ride? That’s what I’m more anxious and worried about and if I can’t see exactly where the rollercoaster goes, I tend to avoid it because idk how it will be like. It’s a fear of mine
On peak days there are actors in the exit area
This makes the ride look so bad, I was absolutely terrified the whole way but when I was finished i wanted to go straight back in! I lived this ride and they normally have loads of actors which makes it a lot scarier the video doesn't do the ride justice, it's a really popular ride.

I went to Thorpe park this Monday and I was in line for the walking dead and I chickened out cause i have like a horrible fear of zombies and stuff but my mum said it wasn’t even that bad😂

Trust this ride is good. In fact it's my fave ride in the park. You get chased by zombies at the end aswell.
I am sorry to say to those who saw this video and thought "what a load of rubbish", But I went on this ride yesterday, and I have to say it is a great ride. Whilst the ride is the same as X, they did retheme it with quite a (cheesy) run to build you up to the ride. If you have been on X before you will know that the queue is this long hallway that is boring to look at, but in this, they really do nail the ride with some loud sirens and dim/no lighting. Despite the lack of feeling like you want to go on the ride a second time (due to knowing whats going to happen) but I actually loved this ride and would recommend people go on it as long as its queue time is less than 60 minutes.
TL;DR: This ride is better than the comments put it out to be.
Zephane yup,I totally agree with you. As a big fan of the walking dead,this ride in my opinion,has done pretty well with the whole zombie thing. While I also appreciate people in the comments saying this ride is shit. To be able to make a proper judgement you'd have to experience the ride for yourself,but i don't really understand what you guys are starting a arguement over.

Thorpe Park have even advertised that their teen and young adults only they are slowly getting rid of the younger rides
