I'm from yemen and we only found out about this from this documentary, it's only in very certain areas, and its secret, and the owners have connections to the government.
The USA force is like the rest of the world to have only governments that they want.
If you watch this video closely you would know that the people don't know anything about that.

After the freed salves were delivered in 40:10; One of the brother said "We'll never be apart again." 41:38 The oldest brother said "the important thing is that we're together". 41:43 he requested "Can you take a photo so we can remember this moment?" Then he smiled. I saw the radiance of true happiness, hope, and freedom on his face. That is the "face of FREEDOM". My tears flowed as river. Thank God for these brave journalists have risked their lives to free these very unfortunate men, known as slaves.

Just wanted to verify for the non-Arabic speakers that the subtitles are actually solid and on-point. I’m actually actively looking for something to complain about (in terms of subtitles and translations) and after watching 20+ al jazerra videos I’m pleasantly surprised and happy to report that the subtitles and translations are accurate. My motivation is simply a result of watching videos with subtitles in other languages and wishing someone in the comments would remark about the subtitles in a video.

The nature, really doesn't know anything about equality or inequality; only the human mind has the ability to label and judge this way. So, "smarter" or ''weak in the head" and so on, they are just labels that promote the division among people. Thereof starts out the whole suffering..

Al Jazeera World - Slavery in Yemen program is a good effort to highlight this issue. In third world poor countries this issue may exist in one form or the other due to poverty, illiteracy, etc. Children can be seen working in shops and hotels in market area, in some places. The harsh truth is that human life is very cheap and unprotected in some societies.

There is only one reason slavery is an embarrassment to the government and that is because the accept it and cover it up. If the government took a stance against slavery no one would look down on the government. Even if their only response was an official stance against it and slowing the legal process to by enforcing the law whenever an owner is exposed, that would cost minimal money and would still have people respecting the government on this issue but imagine the great press if they took a proactive roll in freeing slaves. They would win approval rates all over the world and internally

+striving MuSliMaH We all go through a period in youth where we need to 'lose faith' in humanity---that is after all, why we have religions, because these bad places are where we naturally go (at least in our corrupting times) when we don't *truly* follow good guidance to be balanced and compassionate in the deepest sense--striving, as you name yourself.
It is disheartening to see people being callous to one another. Our faith has to be in the possibility to reach the mercy and benevolence to work with them and do what we can to see good conditions for the people around us (and ourselves). Sometimes we have to face and challenge common wrong religious interpretations to do so.

why cant everyone just be happy that there was some happiness out,of this story? no matter how bitter it may be, accusing and blaming each other wont do anything about it and throwing around the blame is useless, so stop.
i dont usually cry but i did in these forty minutes. first because i was saddened and it weighed so heavily,on my heart i practically sobbed for 10 minutes. in all my life, i have never as grateful as i do now. to be born free. how lightly we take the most valuble thing some of us are only fortunate to have or might never have in their. my heart went out to the people living those kind of lives and i think it changed my perspective of the world. i however think it should be something that brings us together, the compassion we felt should be what we share with each other. not blame. lets spread love around for once and be happy that three men are right now very happily enjoying a freedom that had been elusive to them and mere good fortune for the most of the world.

Mauritania, the Congo, North Korea, Saudi Arabia, *COUGH COUGH QATAR*, Afghanistan, Pakistan....

This was in the prophet Muhammad's (pbuh) final sermon: "All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over black nor a black has any superiority over white except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not, therefore, do injustice to yourselves." What these Yemenis are doing is not part of Islam and is strictly forbidden. Sad that things like this still happen today...

    In the Quran :
    090:008-13
"Have We not made for him two eyes? and a tongue and two lips? and shown him the two ways / paths? BUT HE HAS NOT ATTEMPTED THE STEEP PATH - THE ASCENT. And what can make you know what the steep path / ascent is? (It is) FREEING A SLAVE"
    002:177
It is not righteousness that you turn your faces towards the East or the West but righteousness (is he) who believes in God and the Last Day, and the Angels and the Book and the Prophets and gives wealth despite of his love for it to those of near relatives and the orphans and the needy and of the wayfarer and those who ask and in FREEING THE SLAVES and who establish the prayer and give zakah and those who fulfill their covenant when they make it and those who are patient in suffering and hardship and time of stress. Those are the ones who are true and those are the righteous.”

    Lets Pray for these humans.
Pray in what ever faith you have.
Heavenly Father, send your army of Angels to destroy any weapons these evil humans have.
Send your healing light into the hearts of the ones who are suffering and need your comfort and shelter more then ever.
Send your messengers on earth and peackeepers and guide and protect them to feed and provide water and medicine for all who are need.
Protect these people who are harming their own brothers and sisters.
Please Lord have mercy and grace and stop the suffering these people have endured.
We praise you and glorify you.
    AMEN.

There are people of many backgrounds who live and work in Yemen.
These isolated slavery conditions are not condoned by the vast majority of Yemeni people. This is akin to Kidnapping and holding by fear people in remote villages of Yemen.
--- Absolutely disgusting and shocking that anyone can call himself a Muslim and own slaves. Read more about your faith, it says to set slaves free, that is one of the highest achievements one can get!

The current war in Yemen is a complex conflict with more than one aspect.. The most important aspect is the identity conflict that is between the Houthis, who consider themselves as a supreme race and think that they should control Yemen as a monarchy. And between the rest of the Yemeni people that believe in democracy as the republic of Yemen... This conflict has been in Yemen for more than 1200 years when the Houthis' great great great great great great grandfather came to Yemen from Mecca to establish a new monarchy for himself and his family.. this hidden war frequently comes every couple of decades... Please read the Yemeni history..
Unfortunately, Houthis have the same mentality of Hitler and Nazis, and the same mentality of the KKK extreme group in America... They think that they are a supreme race of human beings, they don't address themselves as Yemenis they call themselves Hashemites.. They don't believe in human rights nor freedom of speech..
This conflict in Yemen has been more than 1200 years.. since that time they came to rule Yemeni people by force. If you read the Yemeni history you will find there is a similar war every 30-50 years between this group and Yemenis..
This is the dark side of the Houthi that he doesn't want any other country to know..
What do you think, what is the solution? How can we deal with this racist group?
As you know, the situation in Yemen has been always misunderstood by other countries.. I know that a lot consider what I mentioned above a taboo topic, but this is the reality..if we want sustainable peace we must resolve all these historical issues.. I always wonder why when Houthi is in his weakest point the West force everybody to stop fighting.... Houthis are similar to Nazis... UK and USA fought Nazis back in WW2... If they used this same approach in WW2, they would have been still fighting Hitler until now 😂😂...
Why the Brits didn't coexist with the Nazis?? It is a theoretical question of course because we all know what Hitler did to Europe.. Thus, a normal human being can't coexist with a Nazis (Houthis) mentality... You can't make peace with someone who thinks that he's a supreme human being supported with a theocratic background, unless he changes his way of thinking and believes that all human beings have the right to live equally...

  • @ytams1
    @ytams1 9 років тому +3

There are treaties against slavery, so there are probably laws against it in many countries. When a slave owner leaves Yemen he may be breaking those laws. If so the slave owner can be arrested when he enters a white country (Europe + USA) and possibly a black country.
This program showed journalists revealing the problem. Lawyers can play their part by making a database of the anti-slavery laws in both white and black countries, plus specimen chargers. Such lists will make it much easier for the police to enforce the laws. This is not the 19th century, the lawyers do not have to be white.
Even if we are not allowed to charge a person for committing an on going crime in another country we can get our government to ban a known slave owner from entering our country.

I am here thinking, lets examine the imams of Makka and Madina their homes. You will definitely find slaves. I will discourage to do, because of the danger, if you fail their claws. It's just normal countries Yemen, Saudi arabia, Kuwait, U.A.E, Qatar, Oman etc to have slaves. It is a part of their culture credit. I'm not surprised this image.

Slavery is supposed to be illegal but it is wide spread, for years a lot of people unknowingly habe been slaved, USA has slaved Chinese people to work for them for such a low wage and they treat foreigners as slaves to work for them for cheap, look at amazon and all these big companies. People have been treated low for such a small money.
