European athletics is single handedly keeping this sport alive. This is a proper highlights package that covers all the events with full replays. The 100m isn't being clipped down from 11 short seconds to 5 seconds starting halfway down the track, etc. I appreciate this.
Really? Have you heard of the Diamond League Competitions? What about the US NCAA track & field competition taking place now as well? This sport is doing just fine!✌🏾
@@vichelleh I've heard of them both, and I'm not sure why you think they matter within this context? My compliments were to European Athletics as an organization, not a singular competition. They make streaming a lot of the non-gold level meets easy, they post complete highlights packages that aren't chopped to pieces (which WA and sometimes the DL both do) and they host fun side competitions like the team championships. This is what I was speaking to. Hopefully you and the person above understand a little better now 😉.
the way european athletics makes this look so easy. free streams, full replays + interviews, on time. puts everyone else to shame. lovely to see asher-smith happy, loose and at peace with herself.
I'm not from the anglosphere and I don't want to be melodramatic, but at 3:15 Ireland passing through Great Britain cutting it in half is deeply symbolic.
I’m not sure she ever faded tbh, she’s just not up against Americans and Jamaicans. She’s usually good in her drive phase but lacks the top speed of an Elaine Thompson so may look like she fades. Against European competition however she does have the best top speed.
She actually had a terrible start, she’s been known for her good starts. In her interview she said she been working in her too speed, so if she can combine that with her good starts we can see her back at her 10.8 form or better
I honestly love the European Athletics system in the sprints and hurdles where the top 12 athletes gets to skip the heats. World Athletics needs to do the same.
During the half marathon it was possible to see splendid and spectacular images of Rome, both from the sky and from the ground, the only shame was that the sun was covered by clouds and therefore there was no beautiful light.
Dina Asher Smith is back! Yeeeeeeeesssss U heard me right! She was merciless & ruthless in the final 10m. "Wow, I'm happy for cousin Dina Asher Smith." It's been long overdue ... European Champion aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagain. Rolling back the years!
@@nCode1The answer is simple lots of first generation immigrants coming through from Africa, Asia and other places ,now they have sprinters, hammer throwers, heptathlon competitors,,many of these kids are good enough to get American College too...
I cannot find any reference to Dina Asher-Smith being state honoured. In a age where awards are handed out for next to nothingness this remarkable lady has been at the top of UK sprinting for 13 years. Why is she not an OBE at least, possibly a CBE or even a Dame. If it is being delayed until she announces her retirement, I get it. She flies the flag for Great Britain, lets make sure she is added to the pantheon of great athletes with a state honour.
I dont think Dina will make the final and neither will any white sprinter male or female maybe time for separate Olympics on race❤ call it "race for race ":

in the womens 100m final, my dad said, very bad, 10.99 seconds. he was an athlete when he was 17 and did it for 11.2 seconds. i said dad thats 21 milliseconds better than your record, how is it bad. he said, they are older, and trained longer. i said they are women and you were a man, and thne the results came and it turned out that even last place did 5 milliseconds better. my dad was speechless and said , well, not that bad. LOLL
The results of the team half marathons are missing from the highlights. Men: 1st Italy, 2nd Israel, 3rd Germany Women: 1st Great Britain, 2nd Germany, 3rd Spain
I think M. Kambudji is done. This should be her last season. Dina Asher surprised me with her late move. But will it get her closer to the Jamaicans and Americans?
4 and 800 meters running is EXTREME hard , In my opinion the hardest 2 diciplines of athletics ! You need a good trainer who can dose youre capabileties. 400 and 800 meter you must know what youre boddy can do perfectly !! running that competition is dying 1000 times ! !
Being able to watch the Europeans on the BBC iPlayer and here have actually been much better than the BBC’s normal live coverage because they’re not cutting back to the studio every 2 minutes for 5 minutes of drivel from half-wits.
@@bobbyraybayobey There are 19 athletes who broke the 11 seconds barrier this year so far and they all plan to peak by the time Olympics come. This 19 excludes Shelly, Sherika, and Dina. Swoboda is a good athlete in European standards no doubt. But in the global stage, no one outside Europe talks about her.
Actually, Angelina Topic was far above the jump bar. She will soon reach 2 meters and surely 2. 05 or more ... on Olympic games she will be on the podium. What a fairy !

ASHER-SMITH👍She seems so happy so much so i just feel happy for her
Seeing Grovdal, Asher-Smith and Mageean winning - the day could not start better.
great to see Mageean win gold!
Glad to see Asher-Smith back and not injured.
Love Asher-Smith, great personality and talent.
I think that was her only chance of a major honour this year. I'm glad she did it.
I hope 2024 is the year for her, she deserves a break from injuries
Bang on. If she has that kind of start and abbreviated drive phase againt the Yanks and Jamaicans, she’s screwed.
She found another gear to pull through
Fantastic run by Ciara Mageen. Sarah, your day will come.❤
Well done Ciara. 🇮🇪 on 🔥
Epic run by the French girl.
Heroic effort.

that start was crazy
So happy for Ciara she deserves it. Great win.
Dina Asher-smith is so fun to watch both on and off the track

She has a more upright posture at top speed. She used to lean forward a bit.
10.99 wasn't world level though. So i think that will be the only major honour she'll get this year. Glad she did it though.
She never really faded. How many 'faders' have run sub 22 three times

Just how amazing is Grovdal, after finishing second in the 5000 m, half marathon gold, amazing fitness.
Love the English commentator on the 1500. He has two Brits in the top three but he's genuinely pleased that Megeean won.
