Just a suggestion, the angle this is shot at and it being zoomed out makes it really hard to see the details of what you're doing. The close-up, straight-on shots at the end are perfect. I wish the entire video was shot like that. Just a tip! Loved the look though!
Melissa- Tutorial idea: How to do two different looks but with one set of products. If we are in a wedding and need a soft glam rehearsal dinner look, then full glam and heat-proof look for the wedding the next day, but with minimal products to pack. Please! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I think this look is stunning, But I’m super disappointed because I would love to recreate the look but the angle was so weird hard to tell how your doing everything 😕😔 Melissa your a beauty and I really enjoy your videos and how of all the influences I watch your the only one I find myself really learning from especially with the pro tips series and I actually try to recreate your looks. Could you or would you be willing to repeat this look with a better angle/ view maybe a close up please? I think this would be a lovely birthday or valentine’s look. Thank you for inspiring me❤️
Been watching you for years. Thanks for using your platform to speak up. I feel one aspect of BLM is health. Yes, we are killed by the police, but we are also victims of the health care system. Black women have the highest maternal mortality rate. My people also have high infant mortality rates (babies dying before they reach 1 years old). Not sure which organizations are fighting for this across the country. However, I think whichever is would be an organization to donate to.
It's true. I remember in the hospital when my OB was telling me about SIDS (which is terrifying and such a scary time for a new parent) she really glossed over it, saying that because we weren't black it's much lower risk us. It was so surreal to be lectured about such a blatantly racist statistic in such a nonchalant way. It's really stuck with me, I just really feel like that is so inherently wrong, someone needs to do something about that.
For infant mortality, you can support March of Dimes and local Healthy Start programs. I think MOD also has programs specifically around maternal mortality too but I can't recall precisely.
Glad to see you back! Your reason for stepping away, to learn and dedicate your time to BLM is very admirable. Fabulous look too. I'm going to treat myself to a PML palette this year so I really enjoy watching different looks from different palettes.
I am so glad you are back! I am also glad you took time off for yourself and to reflect. Though I was doing your 30 day challenge so I felt like we got to hang out! (And thank you for that it’s helped me physically and mentally). ❤️❤️❤️❤️
The difference about watching you doing your make up is that it immediately makes me want to do mine to. You always inspire me with your artistry. Thank you!
The colors in your video (flesh tones, the palette) look very true. I've noticed that some videos are very bluish (as if they didn't white balance the camera). I think your video is probably closest to accurately representing the tones of the shadows. Thanks for the tutorial!
Love that you are back! ❤️ We missed you. This angle, however, when you sit side facing us, is really not good, for we cannot see what you're doing. So please, turn so we can see!!! 💕❤️
I bought my first Pat McGrath palette this year, and I love it, but sometimes get scared by it! 🙈 Perhaps you could do 3 looks with 1 palette on a Pat McGrath palette to show a day time look, night time look and then more editorial one 🙂
This is a month late, but Julia Adams MUA makes those types of videos and they are AMAZING! Def suggest subscribing to her too if u love those 3 looks 1 pallete vids with Pat McGrath
So glad you're back, but I'm glad you took time off for yourself and what matters to you. I've spent a lot of time educating myself during this movement, too. Being multiracial, I always identified as minority, but its been eye opening to realize that because I'm white passing, I'm part of the problem. I'm guessing it's even more jarring for you since you're full minority. Take care of yourself and good work 😊 I'm glad you're following your principles
Glad you’re back!!!!!!! Hope you can do a spanish video!!!!! Will great to show the beautiful part of our latino community, also another one with a latino influencer like rosy mcmichael (facetime zoom insta) like makeup recommendations from rosy
So glad you did this tut and the final look was stunning but erm I’m sorry I couldn’t see a thing. Your angle was off. Pls do your usual zoom in angle when you’re creating an eye look so stunning as this.
Hi Melissa, welcome back! Missed you, but I’m glad you took a break. Since I follow you on instagram it didn’t feel like you were gone 😆. I wanted to recommend that you try to face the camera a little bit more. I definitely prefer this set up over the ‘studio set up’ but you just need to face the camera a little more. Hope you don’t mind my suggestion 💕
Im so proud of you for supporting the black life’s matter movement, however, i would love it if you supported your own community as well (latino community)
Thanks for recognizing your privilege and reflecting on it. As the public figure that you are, it is important that you share those thoughts and updates.
Did you use any eyeshadow from Divine Rose 2? Did I miss it? I don't think you did. I'm trying to replicate your look, but I only have the original Divine Rose. Thanks.
Melissa, as a non-Latina, I want understand more. What is a white-passing Latino? Is it a non-Afro-Latino? Not dark skinned? When I hear white passing, I think someone who can pass as white, so I’m wondering what it means for Latinos. You look very Latino to me, Mexican. I def wouldn’t confuse you for white. Curious if it means something else in the Latinx community. Learning so much these days and it’s all helpful! Thanks! And pretty eye look!
So many things to comment :P 1)I am amazed byt this makeup!!!! I follow you since your beginning and each time you amaze me more and more! (how is this even possible!
Yes! I remember requesting this tutorial on Instagram. Thank you soooo much! For other donation suggestions please consider grassrootslaw. instagram.com/grassrootslaw/. By the way, where is the mirror from? Could you link it?
NOPE! I would definitely let you guys know if that ever happened, there was a lot going on in the world (and still is) but when all the news was first circulating I found it hard to sit in front of a camera and put a smile on like nothing was happening around me. Especially being a first generation mexican-american i felt I was being pulled in all sorts of directions and it was debilitating. I know feel like i have a good, healthy mind set and can conquer thing on and off camera. Appreciate your patience through this
The look is lovely, i have copied it already but you seemed so rushed in this video 🙃 dropping everything and stumbling over your words talking waay to fast

It’s really hard to see what you’re doing with the offset angle.

Beautiful!

What shade would you get to brighten with the pat mcgrath concealer? I have the same skin colour as you and am hopless with picking shades 😩🙈
Could you please film this tutorial again and facing the camera? I would love to copy the look but it is so hard to see what you are doing
Me enamoré de esos labiales desde que vi tus swatches en instagram, muero por recibirlos, xoxo 😘

Hey, just wanted to say that this video didn’t show up in my subscription box, love you
Pretty look just wish your eyes had been zoomed in a tad. Hard to see from a side view.
I don’t know if it’s too late but you can donate to Until Freedom ☺️

this one is by simple human but tbh I wish the mirror swiveled in more directions lol
Melissa Alatorre Thank you!
💛💙💜💚❤
Melissa welcome back, but you are way too far with an angle
🙄 I need to learn, some of us dose not have the best vision 😳
Wow, amazing look. I love your more wearable simple looks. And so much $$ in one video 😅
And please do not fast forward either we want to see the blending
no body hair shaming Melissa..even if it is your own.
I can barely see what you're doing, the camera angle is no good
Hey Melissa, it's pronounced "sof-en" not "soft-en"
Take a shot everytime she says “ummm”
I thought you've finished with UA-cam. 😏

Try not to say uh or um every second.this is just to make you more peofessional. Talk a lot slower then you dont seem to say uh or um.love you
