You have done a great job with all the up grades. Watching you channel helped me the other day. My mill was dipping at the first 6 to 8 inches then straighten up. I remembered your doing that and you fixed it with shims. So I found my shims installed them and it cuts like new. Thanks you. Great channel!
Genius ‼️. I had to do the same thing to my engine throttle. I definitely need to do the log stop mods. Irritates me to no end when the log pushes them down Now when are you gonna make a log Turner? I like two guys timber framing’s sawmill shed with the winch to turn the logs. Turned cold here, had a tree partially blow over when the cold front came through Sunday night. Video content 😀. Have a good one Jerry
@@AppalachianFarmstead good morning Mike. Cold here too. I'm on my way to a job and my diesel truck won't start. Charging batteries now lol. The log stops with the notches ground in is the way to go. I have an idea for a log turner like you mentioned but it would live on the mill and roll down the mill. It would live on one end. Have a great one my friend.
@@AppalachianFarmstead thanks Buddy. We have been in the mid 20s. Just last week it was 80s lol. When I get home today I'm starting my wood boiler. I'll be slave to it for the next 7 months lol
I run a second ball valve on my water line so I don't change the adjustment, but I recently bought a 1/4 inch solenoid valve to turn it on automatically, because I forget to turn it on or off way to often, and it would probably work off of your throttle actuator system?? Like you, I would much rather build the modifications that make sawing easier, and a log turner might just be the next mod you should consider!
That's exactly what I'm thinking. Water solenoid that turns on when my throttle turns on. Easy peasy. I have an idea for a log turner that lives at the end of the mill and rolls to where I need it. Thanks Tim. Great suggestions. Have a great day.
Great content, Jerry. Where abouts are you in Michigan. I just bought a 32 inch mill and trailer. I plan on using some of your Modz especially the power feed. I am currently assembling it in my garage. I bought the extensions for both but am only starting out with the standard length. Keep up the great work. Dave
@@Cuttin_It_Close good morning Dave. I live north of newaygo. Are you from Michigan. The power feed is a game changer. Keep me informed on your builds. Have a great weekend.
@@BigelowWoodcraft Yes I live in Brooklyn, MI. Plan on sawing up some pine for storage shelving and have a source for Walnut logs fairly cheap. What tooth sprocket did you say you use? I already bought a pair of Jazzy scooter motors, the controller for them, a solenoid to turn the blade lube on and off. Have a great weekend yourself. We are going to Big Rapids for a couple days.
@@Cuttin_It_Close I'll have to get back to you about the sprocket. I picked one that would give me a fast time back but still have the power to pull the carriage. I thought I put in one of the videos on that playlist. My dad just sold his house in Brooklyn Michigan. He lived on Washington lake.
@@BigelowWoodcraft No problem on the sprocket. Yeah we've lived here and built our house over 30 years ago. I think I heard you say the sprocket on the motor is a 19 tooth and the idlers were 13. Not sure but I can rewatch your vids to confirm. I'm not ready to assemble the auto feed just yet. Thank you for your time. Dave
Another excellent video, great job. Did you end up cutting out slots or bars at discharge chute? Just wondering if you did if that keeps chute from clogging with sawdust? Thanks Steve Johnson
@@stevejohnson1313 Steve I did cut them out. If I had to do it again I would but I would leave the center bar. I have a video where the blade shot out the cute 4 feet when it broke. That's why I put that 90 and put orange tape around it. One to deflect it down and 2 to remind me about the potential danger there. Those bars are too keep the blade from flying out. I've had blades break now and get directed out and down. Great question
We would appreciate it if you would subscribe. It really helps the channel. Thank you.
