Hi ~ cheers for sharing your experience in IIUM. It looks very fascinating indeed and yeah it's true that virtual classes are extremely challenging in so many ways. I'm also doing Chemistry (diploma level) at a local IPTA and venturing into opportunities available at higher levels in different institutions. If i may ask, does IIUM involve lots of studies about religion and stuff or maybe students are required to take Arabic lessons? TQ.
Certainly, there are some uni courses you must take within your credit hours such as Usrah budi, Islamic worldview etc. You can find all of this according to the study plan given by the uni and it varies between subject degrees. I havent gone through all of them since this is only my first year. Just some insights from my seniors. Personally, it isn't as demanding as people make it seem. A lot of the courses in IIUM teaches Islamization of the knowledge that you study, how you should apply from an Islamic perspective. Essentially, it is important as Muslims to have Tawhid too in what we learn especially in scientific knowledge. As for Arabic, there is a requirement. You have to sit for an arabic entry test (APT) and if you are doing sciences in Kuantan campus, you only need to get like 20 marks outta the whole exam from what I remember. You do have to have a solid English qualification or band 6 in the entry test (EPT) if you are coming to Kuantan. It is advised so that you could prepare beforehand. Otherwise, if u fail, you have to take arabic courses which will make your schedule more pack for your first semester until you have to sit for the exam again and reach the requirement.
@@amirfaiz4040 I see, thanks for the heads up though. As i thought, the "islamisation" of knowledge especially in science is inevitable thus it embodies in the university's name. Interesting. I could barely imagine how's science and Islam would blend together, it must be a truly fulfilling field to explore i believe! As of Arabic, i might have really hard time since i have almost no knowledge in the language besides little ability to read Arabic. Regardless, i think it can still be gradually improved :)
@@amirfaiz4040 ohh, btw, may i know whether abroad U or still local U here ?,cause im just new direct intake here, taking EPT,i engineering courses, sometimes i consider wantto change if my Ept didt pass😂,and other fact ‘they had known each other”ahhah
