We just don't hear enough slow piano blues these days, artists want to slay us with their boogie woogie chops. Andrew Campbell has given us a shot of soulful, tasteful blues. I felt a smile coming on as I listened.
Would love to see some in depth lessons on this type of slow blues music 🎶 do you have any if not PLEASE share some insight and instruction for future projects ❤🎹
I cannot believe how much I dig this tune. It is perfect. I can't just listen to it once, no sir, gotta be 4 or 5 times. James Booker's got nothin' on y'all, Andrew.
Thank you! It would be great if you could do a tutorial on this..... I play blues but more chop rhythm in left hand, slow boogie in other words.... But this style is fabulous
Very nice piano playing, even better, is your choice of music to play. If I may (I know, everyone's a critic) this is said/meant as constructive criticism. Blues is a feeling, it's felt deep in your soul, it kinda smolders, slow like, it needs time to breathe in, pause, and exhale real deep, and pause as that feeling moves into, or becomes the note.
Hell yes! I love it. Booker style indeed. as an avid Booker fan I hear a little of "black night" in this upload. maybe someone said it already, I dont know, but anyways this is awesome. thanks for sharing
Beautiful! I am always looking for ways to do this lovely style in less " Blues Piano Friendly " keys*( at least for me!) Ab A E Db etc. Love to see some of that if you were so inclined. Thanks for your great playing!
Thanks I do read Music so went and dragged out the How to Play Blues books I, but i find it difficult to read blues and get the rhythm, but improving! I’ll keep listening to you!!
Thanks for responding! Well ok, I'll just listen to it a couple 100 times as we obsessed musicians do, and try to analyze and copy it and of course probably never will be able, but isn't that what we do? Lol
Sally Sigler...stick with it, persistence has a way of paying off. here's a link to a blues piano lesson that might help: ua-cam.com/video/eKKM9Tp5oyI/v-deo.html
Really good!, I read that you just started playing back in 2013 with no formal training! impressive. Have you been picking everything up through youtube, listening, books and practice?
Felix Lo Thanks!.. I started playing around 2003 learning by ear mostly but also from anything I could find on the internet, music books, CDs and DvDs. UA-cam was and still is a valuable learning tool for me as well.
@@andrewcampbell-bluespianop6741 Awesome, I am practicing as well, striving to learn better faster! Biggest challenge with self learn for me is lesson structure and progress instead of playing for fun using what you know.
Felix Lo Yeah I know what you mean. You need to be doing both I think. Try 20 minutes of playing what you know and the next 20 minutes learning something new. Or one day playing for fun and the next day learning, something like that maybe. Anyways best of luck mate!
So beautiful! I've got a three minute slideshow of my photographs for which this would be a perfect match. Would it be alright if I used it? I'd be happy to send you a link to see the two - images and slow blues together (If it's okay - how do I reach you?)
@@andrewcampbell-bluespianop6741 Yes of course. It will be at least another year until completion. But your playing fits the genre perfectly. Thank you so much!
Hello Andrew! How are you? Just wondering if it is still ok to use this recording for a short film I'm making? The movie has been shot; I'm editing now.
@@lshwadchuck5643 Thanks mate. Some of this piece comes from improvising using both the major and minor blues scales but mostly I’ve tried to imitate by many hours of listening to how Booker would play these kind of slow blues ballads.
Sally Sigler ..Most of this is just trial and error Sally. I listen to other blues players and try to copy them or play something similar. Try and use elements from both the minor and major blues scale...If you can read sheet music try the website Blues Piano Sheets, it has sheet music for many cool blues piano songs. Best of luck.

Marvellous playing. I could listen to this all day (and all night)

This is great. You have that Booker style, yet it's uniquely you.
Thanks! 🙏🏼
This is the best blues piano can be!

Thank you! 🙂
wow amazing. is this your own improvization or is there sheet music for this?
Thanks!… No sheet music for this piece. It’s mostly improvised and I’ve taken some licks and things from other blues piano songs.
❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Hello, do you have this sheet music available for purchase?
Hi, no I don’t sorry.
? Andrew, R U Instructing or Performing ? Niiiice ! But, (Quashed expectation from the Nose-bleed section) Next vid, Ok.? 👍
Anyway you could do a video or just explain to me that left hand ? It’s so amazing
A James Booker style piece has to have a cool left hand!
Where May I get some partitures oh this?????
Partitures?? Not sure what you mean.
@@andrewcampbell-bluespianop6741 partitur: a full musical score showing each part on a separate line or staff

Sorry no sheet music available for this.
Heya what piano is that?
Jess .. It’s a Roland 508 digital piano.
What are some good solo slow blues piano albums?

Bottle that into a sheet and I'll buy it
Oh gees how the hell do you learn what you’re playing in the right hand? Ok blues scales, but huh? I beg you - Give me a hint!
