- today we headed out to the 40 metre mark out from Port Kennedy/ Rockingham and had a great day bottom fishing for tasty Dermersals we got got break sea cod (blackass), Dhu Fish, Bald Chin Grouper, King George whiting on soft plastics And more :)

I was out on that foggy day too. I came back empty handed lol. I went out from the south end of garden island out towards the 40m mark. Still learning to read my sounder though, I think I was bobbing around in the sand haha
What sounder are you running mate? Around that 40mtrs mark if you look where the contour lines get closer together you can find some ground around there I'd drift and every time you get a bite or catch a fish mark it on your sounder and you should start narrowing down some ground👍
@@BunyipFishing I've got a lowrance elite 7 chirp, with the broad fat transducer which I think is dual frequency. I think it's placement isn't ideal as it does lose signal when I get up and moving at speed but I'll have a play with it and see. Might just need to be tilted forward slightly according to the internet.
I've only been out to 40m twice because I go out alone and I make sure I can see other boats incase I need to signal. Bit paranoid, but I don't know enough about 2strk engines to get me out of trouble if I need to. I'm still learning that bit. Once I'm a bit more confident I'll map out some areas out wide. Would love a baldie like that! Would love to get my old man onto one too!
