Lily of the valley for me is one of the most youth flower. It’s so delicate, so naive, so fragile but it has hint of forest mystery a bit of gloom and some flesh.
I am saving for a bottle of Diorissimo. My mother told me that when she was a little girl she learned a song in school and I can still hear her singing it: "White coral bells, upon a slender stalk, Lilies of the Valley deck my garden walk. Oh don't you wish that you could hear them ring, that will only happen when the fairies sing."
While you were talking about Angelique one beautiful film has come to my mind “House of Mirth” 2000 One of the most atmospheric movie about Edwardian era.
Anais Anais was my signature scent when I was a senior in high school in 1984. I wore it all thru my high school years along with Lauren in the burgundy square bottle. I wore these when I started dating my husband in 1982. I keep both bottles just for nostalgia's sake, although I no longer wear them. Yes, they do smell old fashioned now but back in the day I loved them. I do like soapy, clean, fresh scents these days. It's funny how our preferences change over the years.
You know what’s great? Perfumed body oils. Right after the shower, I apply a thin layer all over. It moisturizes my skin and scents me at the same time. They can last quite a while. But paradoxically the scent is not as assertive and it blends in well with your skin.. Today I am wearing Ariana Grande God is a Woman. Top notes are pear and ambrette. I get a spruce forest in summer overlaid with some cotton candy. Sounds horrible but it is beautiful and very natural.
You are right about everything. I love Still by Jennifer Lopez, it's one of my all time favourits. All the perfumes you mentioned, are wonderful, delicate, but not shy. Thank you for this video.
I have just subscribed. I found your channel by chance and I'm really glad I did. Everything about your beautiful channel is very me. May I ask a question re the light and, dainty fragrance please? I have a young niece just starting on her own fragrance path. My niece is only 16 and I would like to introduce her to something very dainty and light. The fragrance does not have to be long lasting. Just a pretty hint of fragrance would be perfect, she can then learn about layering and re applying etc while she finds her way. I don't want anything strong for her first scent. I hope you can advise? I'm a JL Still girl and I also used to love Cerruti 1881 & Chloe by Lager field in my early 20's. My very first perfume was a little bottle of apple blossom. A beautiful tiny bottle, which my Grandma bought for me. I thought myself very grown up, I was 11. Now im 61. Thankyou so much. Helen✨
I was surprised at how beautifully JLO Still, lingers and smells so sweet but fresh. I love it. Diorissimo was so popular, I wore it in the 80’s, along with Dioressence, which I remember as having a herbal note. I will check out Ghost, that sounds beautiful. Ellen Tracy Bronze, leaves a nice scent trail, very powdery, and warm. Love your descriptions of all of these, and the special effects in the video!!!😘💕🫶
Hi Gabbi ! Anais Anais reminds me of the time I was a child. My mom used to wear it and I sprayed some of it before going to school 😁the same with Dior poison and Tendre Poison.. Pure poison is exactly what you said, a delicate fragrance that lasts for hours! I am waiting for the live 😊❤
Great vid -- I'd love to try GHOST, but I'm wondering if you'd like Byredo's Mojave Ghost -- it falls in this general category. But I have a good inexpensive recent find from Guess called 1981 INDIGO for women, created in 2017. Soft but the notes are evanescent and I smell a new note in it every time I try it. It's a somewhat aquatic figgy floral. Really enjoying it.
Vntage beauties: Chanel No. 19 Poudre (my first Chanel and probably still my favorite) Nahema by Guerlain (a rose masterpiece} Current lovelies: From the Heart by Alghabra En Passsant by Frederic Malle Romanza bv Masque Milano Lakhme by Roja Dama Bianca by Xerjoff And for an anti-delicate/dainty floral fragrance, here's one by the current "Bad Girl" of perfumery: Naomi Goodsir: Iris Cendre
Yess, a new upload from my favorite youtuber 🤩 You look gorgeous, Gaby! ❤ As a woman in my early 30s, I bought Noa from watching your channel and I love it! It calms me, it is warm, classy and nurturing with well blended florals, musk and a mild coffee note and I can't stop smelling it on my wrist. It ewokes memories from my childhood. My husband loves it on me as well. Now, it is the new formula and the only one I know! I must overspray and it doesn't last very long, I must admit. So I ordered a vintage bottle on ebay to smell the difference, I can't wait for it to arrive.
I wore Covet Pure Bloom by SJP.... ridiculously surprised. A fluffy tuberose that is fun unassuming yet does everything you are talking about in this video...
hi beautiful i ❤ i agree my mom used anais anais on me as a little girl 8-9yrs old 😊 and now i use it on my daughters is reformulated but is still performs great! i have to wash their clothes to take it off.. feminine powdery i love it
omg I so knew you were talking about Anaïs Anaïs! I think we all wore it as our signature scents at some point! Angelique is such a lovely floral suede. My husband got coconut macaroons out of it the other day and once he told me I couldn't not smell it, too. I was thinking which scents I would add to your list from my collection and even though I do not have many dainty ones, I could find some - Melodie de l'Amour from Dusita, Noontide Petals or Une Rose Vermeille from Andy Tauer, Cuir de Chine by Les Indémodables, Odalisque by Nicolaï, Neroli Oranger by Matiere Premiere or Pelargonium by Aedes de Venustas just to name a few.
I still haven't been able to get Angelique. I want to add it. It's a fragrance that's so soft but I keep smelling it. Iris and as Claire would say concrete dust. It's magical. ✨. Love your video and all the wonderful description you use for the fragrances. Thanks Gabi 💛
Another great selection, thank you Gaby! Angelique is on my wish list1 As is Still by JLo. I can't wait for your video on dupe houses! You shared some finds from Amour Scents before which made me investigate them ;)
I agree--they did Noa dirty with the current formulation. I managed to get an older formula in a vintage mini gift set of Cacharel (the set also had the Eden flanker Eau d'Eden and Gloria--both of which I immediately tried find after falling in love with and quickly realized both were discontinued 😢) Fell in love with Noa and bought a new bottle, but it didn't hit like the old juice. Disappointed. Wonderful video, as always Gabby! Be well!❤
Was that the Vatican I saw under that angel? Also mentioning Archangel Michael makes me think you may have had a Catholic upbringing? I went to Catholic school through grammar and some of high school. I'm a none of the above now. I love your dark green nail polish. I have a lot of polish, but I find very dark colors challenging for me. I'm very pale. Do you know anything about Twilly d’Hermès? I was wondering if it had any soapiness in it? Do you like it?
I wish people would stop wearing chemical fragrances Luckily most offices now have rules against them So many people have allergies or get migraines from them, myself included
@@thefragrantician I was pleasantly surprised by its quality and how does it wears through the day. I have big respect to this kind of work, when something unpretentious turns out much more than it seems.

That is lovely 😍 it brings happiness to me and to you ❤️
Completely agree ❤

Yes it is different how our style changes. It's lovely you have the bottles for nostalgia 💕
I remember Perles de Lalique being a great perfume (a bewitching, mysterious scent from the realms of Potrait of a Lady) with a great performance.
Perlis de lalique is something I'd love to try 😍 💕
I love Dior Pure poison 😍
Yes. Another pure poison fan
I think Cabotine by Grés would fit nicely on this list. ❤
Good call! I agree 👍

When some people describe scent as ‘grandma’, they don’t always mean in a negative connotation though.

Hello! Finally got round to watching… the past 24 hours have been tumultuous to say the least - can’t believe I missed this video!
