Hey TEM. Loving the end of video discussions where you go over things please keep doing this for all your series it's amazing and really wraps up each episode with an detailed AAR.
Nice Find! The CZ 75 is a czech gun. In real life it's one of the most reliable 9mm guns around and still used by many police forces in Europe. I haven't seen it in any games since COD black ops.
I refer to it as the European 1911, just because it's long lived, made of steel, ubiquitous, and has been cloned or copied by many makers. My favorite 9mm IRL by far
try scrapping furniture, not all is scrapable but try TVs or beds that you can pickup... you will be pleasantly suprised edit as for marking your finds, you can use planing tool to make signs and arrows on the ground, you dont have to build them, just make the blueprint and when you want to see them just equip it
Never thought of using the planning blocks like that... Good thinking, especially before u end up making the map... That way someone doesn't get super lost and lose all their loot... Bc I'm pretty sure once u do craft the map it starts out where u r not everywhere that u have been lol
Good progress today, and good horde, too. So we're off to a new town! I love new towns. If there isn't already, someone needs to make a mod where there are still big cities in the pine forest imo.
Cz75 is a fantastic sidearm. It's basically a reworked Browning Hi-Power that CZ made in 1975. The majority of CZ's pistols are based on it. So you got the OG Hi-Power and the modern new Hi-Power.
Make extra backpack and carry it in your hands - adds extra slots and weight when you walk around - useful when mining or choping down trees. Can't drop heavy items in bicycle - shares weight limit with character when you are riding it, but motorcycle can stash 300kg extra. Also you can use knife on zombie corpses to get extra bones and flesh - bones can be scrapped for easy arrow tips if you dont have small stones and bow becomes quite strong once you level up the skill. Oh and use skill fragments to craft all the club books - bonus refills your stamina bar on a kill with power attack ( stun batons do not count, but all other clubs do ) - with that you can level up super attack and do more damage since your stamina bar gets refilled on every kill ( u can just use power attack - like with spears in vanilla ).
So just having an extra backpack in your bar unlocks more slots and weight capacity? Or do you have to actually have it selected? Seems like a bit of a death trap if its the latter - then if you need to switch to a weapon to fight you'd become super encumbered and might not even be able to move.
@Bhaaltazar23 lmao ever since he started the series I've downloaded the mod and have been looking through all his comments to get some tips, and this is a great one.
@@Josh_from_Texas Yeah I was also amused by the fact that this mod tries to be much more "realistic" but then still needs so much resources for stuff when it really shouldn't....

Also, take some steroids with you, overloading the bicycle makes it also impossible to move. Hey Tem! I don't know if you said you've never seen a CZ pistol in the game, or in real life. But the CZ line of pistols is a 9mm knock-off of the Colt .45 made in Czchzia during the Cold War. The firearm was so reliable and well regarded that it was used by Soviet secret police in Eastern Europe for the longest time. I'm no gun nut, but I do own one due to its good reputation. Love it, and I'm glad the mod team included it in the game! Second, I noticed what is perhaps the best feature of your horde base. Simply, the fences that surround your horde base help to hold up the zombies from swarming you too much. It might be in your better interests in the early going to try and build up more obstacles for them to run into to help control the flow that is only going to get worse. My tip here is to scrap all the dyes you find for pastes so you can make the map ASAP. Please keep the vids coming! I'm loving this series so far, even if I hate the management of infection.
2 things. 1. You can craft make shift lock picks using scrap metal. 2. If you chop down trees and leave the dump, you have a chance to spawn honey after a while.
From my experience, there is always at least one city in the pine forest. Often two. You also often spawn near it that you can find if you decide to go through some wilderness instead of the path. Desert has maybe one city with a town or two. Snow just has towns. Burnt has no towns at all, just wilderness. Wastelands has a super mega city that tests your system.
Great series. Up to your usual high standard. Loving your slow and careful style in this one, it's the way I like to play in all survival games. Oh, and although I'm English I will still say this because of your past . Thank you for your service.

Just did my horde night for day 14 and it was a massive failure. tried to make my own base out of cobble and even with a game stage of 41 the zombies tore through it so easily. I think the base style you have is more or less needed cause cobblestone gets shredded so easily. I fear to see what day 21 horde night will bring. Love this series and please craft a map its a huge game changer.
If all the magazines still work the same, you should be able to grab the beds and whatever else you want to carry that's heavy once you find the Never Encumbered at Night magazine.
don't know if you will see this but you can in fact find wrenches in the world. i found 2 wrenches in the sink in a single poi. it was the pop n pills one more specifically
The (loot) luck in Afterlife is changing so much. When do you find the first nightvision/helmet light, do you find a wrench or need to craft one, do you have a POI with coal or need to go do the winter biom etc.
There is a way to repair the stun baton. You just gotta mess around with it a bit. Like put mods on, then remove mods, put on your belt, take off your belt, etc. It's glitchy, but possible. Using repair kits.
Making the map is super easy. Just need to make the different colored pastes and 200 paper i believe. Hardest part is blue paste. However, you can scrap the dyes into paste ( one dye =10 paste). To make the paste you only need chrysanthemum, golden rod, fibers, charcoal power, blueberries, and cotton mixed with infected water.
@@nicolasbram165 or blue paint for 10 paste. Or you get one berry from every blueberry bush. I find at least one or two when I'm out hunting shrooms at night.
There are blueberry bushes randomly in the green biome in the forest. Also, there is a POI with a backyard garden that will more than net you enough blueberries to make paste for the map. That POI is a regular spawn in the smaller towns, just have to pay attention in the back yards.

Hope all is well in your world! This series has been great so far, I went on vacation and came home and binge watched it. This mod is certainly very complicated and believe you’re right it is trying to slow down game play and make the play more on real life actions. I do wonder if you will add, building, everyday task and resource gathering sessions to the series? I like looting and fighting but nonstop all episode is a bit boring. Especially when you’re in the same biome and same tier building the loot is all the same with a few surprises in the garbage. On a side note if the pine Forrest is this bad with zombies and it is the easiest what will the others look like. The wasteland might mean roads filled with nothing but the undead. I am a fan of your base building, but if that won’t happen can you renovate the poi you intend to finish the series with, and at least make the temporary ones free from zombies wondering in? I was surprised you did not add doors or block some of the entrances to keep them out of the building or build a fence. I do like your after episode summary, with a report on the good bad & ugly and with where we are going.
Adding to the chorus of people applauding the end of episode breakdowns. I am curious, Tem. You have hundreds of hours in survival games and I have rarely seen you get genuinely excited by small finds like in this mod - even blueberries! Are you enjoying the slower rise in tech?
Doesnt the 20% longer range with ironsights/sights indicate you have to be aiming to benefit from the further range? maybe they should've shortened it to 20% longer range when aiming down sight haha
Thanks for your hard work in video and editing . There a pleasure to watch. Now that you picked up the king size bed and then set it down did you reset your spawn point to that POI?
Hey Tem how's it going? I'm really liking your play through so far I hope ur enjoying it as well... I do have a question for u tho... R u planning on doing either a first look stream of like the first week of the "I am Legend" mod? I've heard its pretty hard but also sounds like it'd be right up ur alley lol... So I'm hoping u will check it out and do a first look stream or even a series or even a mini series... Anyway keep up the good work I like ur little storylines and editing lol it gives just a little extra pizazz lol
The helmet light kills your stealth just like the torch - so the NVGs are better for that - wonder if there's a mod to revert them to the pre 1.0 green NVGs which were much better than the new ones.
so....yeah, the map isn't that hard, definitely grind it out! those blueberries follow roadways, especially the gravel path near the iron mine. that'll get you blueberries pretty reliably! I definitely advocate the paper. you've got a point about taking it slow, but I will say once you get your axe skill high enough cardboard boxes are a one hit. and that's not much of a slow down at ALL. black dye is easy to make so crafting your own skillbooks on top of the scrapped bits speeds up your skillbook aquisition rates.
@@GunsNerdsandSteel yeah, gotta scan the dirt roads for the mature bushes. they're uncommon, but around. also if you find the desert, go ham on the cacti and yucca those yucca juice are great hydration. it does look like the ammo availability is buffed on the enforcer, I don't recall if they'd made it that way? but I was finding zilch on my play.

Afterlife looks interesting... I am, however, not sure I could put up with the crafting; the versatility is nice but there are just too many little steps. I am not sold based on how involved crafting is, I would end up playing with the creative menu at which point you're just playing with lego in the sandbox.
The resolution in this video was really low when it was in the normal view (as in from the characters perspective). It went back to normal when it was from 3rd person view but was difficult to watch in some parts. Have you changed something with you set up?
Did you make a map from the random map option if so there should be big cities afterlife for me gave me a big city all mods I realized should use the random map option
weird thought if anyone can answer... is it possible to repair the broken workbenches to then maybe wrench it more for more xp? some might see it as an exploit, but i'd see it as a trade of materials for xp, aka a finite opportunity. just curious
Hey GNS, real question - What’s your take on the *definitely* gonna get infected mechanic of Afterlife? As in, what do ya think is the intended purpose? I get that it guarantees urgency & dramatic game play (having to always hustle for meds to keep the infection low); I can see it setting a really interesting tone for the game, as in, instead of relatively quickly becoming Mr. OP King-of-the-Apocalypse that happens in vanilla, your survivor is ultimately just another casualty. Is there something unique that happens after you are fully infected, some kind of further chapter, further gameplay that’s different from prior to being fully infected (an “afterlife”)? Tangent question: are you certain you got infected by an earlier zombie attack? Cuz it seemed like the infection happened instantaneously after you drank the Hobo Stew in the last episode. Hobo Stew is made from infected flesh, right?
it popped up for me after drinking mineral water, so yeah, it only shows up when you get to 60%. Pretty sure you start the game with it, or it's a 100% infection chance if you get hit, which you probably will on day one anyway so...
@@BiffTech05 damn. Ok. Well Tem did say getting infected *will* happen, that it’s not “if” but “when.” I’m still curious what exactly the point(s) is to that mechanic, though. Not saying there isn’t one, maybe I’ll go read the mod description lol
@@methodsocratic Just another thing to manage really, Afterlife isn't easy mode. I have no idea what happens when you turn though. I'd hope there's some kind of mechanic that just limits what actions you can do but you can still somehow get back under control again. Just dying and respawning would be pretty lame.
I don't mind the infection thing. It's the incessant waves of zombies that really bothers me. Never a moment of peace and quiet. Quite unenjoyable and im considering custom modifying the spawns.

smelt for steel... when you can actually smelt steel, like in about forever away.
So I just started a new job and I swear I heard your voice in some of the training videos.
Oh I haven't seen wild blueberries yet
@@GunsNerdsandSteel yeah, gotta scan the dirt roads for the mature bushes. they're uncommon, but around. also if you find the desert, go ham on the cacti and yucca those yucca juice are great hydration. it does look like the ammo availability is buffed on the enforcer, I don't recall if they'd made it that way? but I was finding zilch on my play.
Did I read the description for the bed correctly? If you put down a bed, that becomes your new spawn point, instead of the bedroll at your base?
yep
Hey tem quick question do you get your bottles back when making water from 3 infected water or does the 3 bottles become 1. As always great video and learning so much from watching you, also on my play through i did find a city/big town in the forest biome
Yeah I always get the jars back when crafting
@@GunsNerdsandSteel ty wanted to make sure also don't know if you knew but spiders can climb walls now on horde night I stood in a tier 0 and it climbed up the side of the building to the roof
Could you use the placement tool to make invisible markers that you could see while holding the tool?
Wow that's a good tip!
What pistol pete Volume 1 should say is when aimed down sights. Because I don't believe hip fire gets the 20% buff. Either way the books description is worded poorly.
I FINSHED LAST EPISODE 2 MINS AGO AND THIS GOT UPLOADED AHHAHA
allright bro, fine...
you peak my curiosity to suffer on this mod..
Irl chalcopyrite is a combination of copper and iron.
Actually that's a thought, I wonder if you smelt it with coal instead of charcoal you also get some iron out of it...
There is scrape which gives you everything and scrape iron which you can make iron from!!!!!!!!
i think you need a bellows to get it hot enough!
no, just coal for iron.
Afterlife looks interesting... I am, however, not sure I could put up with the crafting; the versatility is nice but there are just too many little steps. I am not sold based on how involved crafting is, I would end up playing with the creative menu at which point you're just playing with lego in the sandbox.
u should make a map so u can get markers and know your way, it is ez to make (sorta)
👍👍
There is a "better night vision" modlet, provides QOL for viewers, especially at night or dark buildings...
:)
scrap dyes to get colored paste
hey gns you can scrape those dyes to get the paste's for the map
Thank you!
The resolution in this video was really low when it was in the normal view (as in from the characters perspective). It went back to normal when it was from 3rd person view but was difficult to watch in some parts. Have you changed something with you set up?
That's on your end I think. All good on my end 🤷
someones trying to tell you make a rocket launcher
Haha I know, probably gonna need one someday 😂
Tem save a perk for Map. Watch and Compass.
They are no longer perks, They are now schematics
Did you make a map from the random map option if so there should be big cities afterlife for me gave me a big city all mods I realized should use the random map option
weird thought if anyone can answer... is it possible to repair the broken workbenches to then maybe wrench it more for more xp? some might see it as an exploit, but i'd see it as a trade of materials for xp, aka a finite opportunity. just curious
🥃👏
The constant zombies outside the base is so annoying lol
It might be all the torches he's got up, not sure if they work the same in this mod
I love my CZ’s irl 😅
Hey, I know you're doing this series in 1.0 but how did you find afterlife in 1.0? I've been looking for afterlife and couldn't find it.
I really like your base. Too bad you have to leave it.
I'll still fight hordes in this town for a while
Hey GNS, real question -
What’s your take on the *definitely* gonna get infected mechanic of Afterlife?
Ok. Well Tem did say getting infected *will* happen, that it’s not “if” but “when.”
I’m still curious what exactly the point(s) is to that mechanic, though.
@@BiffTech05 agree 💯, would be quite lame indeed.
I don't mind the infection thing.
It's the incessant waves of zombies that really bothers me. Never a moment of peace and quiet. Quite unenjoyable and im considering custom modifying the spawns.
