  • I went ice fishing for brook trout with ‪@FishingwithRod‬ in early December. This was my first ice fishing experience and it definitely will not be my last! Brook trout are stocked in some lakes around British Columbia Canada. Check out www.gofishbc.com to find out which lakes are stocked with these tasty chars.

You two had a great set up. Having a tub available is great when you are just going to releass one. And comes in handy for hauling the keepers home. Love how unrestrained you are Linda when you hook a nice one. And having a gormet meal cooked by none other than Rod, makes for a great day of fishing. Can't wait to see the next adventure. Merry Christmas to you both and to your families.

What camera did you use for the underwater footage? The different point of views are so good.

They're GoPro 5s. The side views are done with a pole slid down a hole beside where we were fishing. The top views are done by attaching the GoPro to a board, upside down from a hole beside the fishing hole. The attachment for the GoPro is made by Scotty Fishing Products, pretty versatile mounts that let us to get whatever camera angle we want.

Question from a very rookie fisherman..."Would a worm work well in this scenario?" I would be so frustrated watching all those fish not even caring about the bait. PLUS...it was so fun to watch you two get so excited...even after all these years of fishing.

    • @FishingwithRod

Worms would work too, single eggs, artificial bait, soft plastics would also work. Some days these fish would attack your offerings for hours, while other days they are moody like what you saw in the video.
