I think you were thinking of the reverse stab sword ability, backstab only refers to hitting an enemy in the back as quirkysmorc said in chat

We talked about it with chat after I recorded… it was the rapier flèche upgrade called backside that I was thinking of hahaha

back stab is a weapon perk, it was bugged giving more attack power regardless of the direction you're attacking
