This piece must of been inspired by Spirited Away. One of the main theme from Spirited Away was a piece titled One Summer's Day by Joe Hisaishi. I recognize the motif near the the beginning because it has such an impression on me. Very reminiscent of One Summer's Day and such a beautiful melody.

The thing about this maybe resembling _Spirited Away_ could be due to the fact that _Spirited Away_ has lots of elements of Japanese culture, which of course is heavily influenced by Chinese culture, and _Big Fish and Begonia_ is a very traditionally Chinese story. I believe Miyazaki has pulled from Chinese myths before as well. Here's some information from Wikipedia about _Big Fish and Begonia's_ inspiration: "The story was inspired by a myth from the ancient Chinese Taoist classic Zhuangzi. The film also integrates many stories from other Chinese classics such as Classic of Mountains and Seas and In Search of the Supernatural."

Yes, it does look very much like Korean Gayageum. This is Gu Zheng, from China. It's played with artificial nails, a bit different from Gayageum. I think the strings are made from different materials too.
