    Very well done video! Just regarding the sterilization of substrate, that can heavily depend on your area of the world and even the makeup of your forests. Once you imported some Steatoda eggs or aggressive mold for example, you'll lose a colony extremely fast. That's why lots of people do it preemptively. But you're absolutely right. It also kills a lot of beneficial organisms and isn't worth doing in most cases.

      That is true, as I said we don't have anything harmful here in Sweden, but I might have done differently if I lived in another part of the world. I never use substrate the isopods are shipped in and I always quarantine.
      This is what I do but It all comes down to what works best for each and everyone individually 😊 Thank you for your comment!

    Really enjoyed seeing your isopods… I have only been keeping them for a few months now, but really like caring for them and watching them… I have found that mine LOVE Shagbark Hickory leaves, as they voraciously consume them way faster than any other type! Please keep producing more videos… thank you!

    I'm only getting these guys to keep in another creatures vivarium (bioactive), but the isopods deserve the best lives too! so I'm researching a bit B)

    Hi, I wanted to ask what kind of camera / macro recording hardware you use to record your isopods. I would also like to record isopods 🙂

      Hey! For the limelapses I use my Nikon D5100 and for the macros like in this video I use my phone, Xiaomi 11 lite it got a really good macro setting 😁
