David and Kelly loved the drama. Dylan was the first person to be nominated for the award in this category and it made me feel so proud of him for doing so well with all his performances while being the most successful and talented person in history

So I really dont see the problem, plus Brenda went to Paris at the last minute due to the fact Kelly dropped out of the trip and ended up taking Kelly's spot. My guess is Brenda may have picked her classes before she decided to go to Paris. Plus, maybe she took Spanish bc she felt it was more useful. While Paris was more for fun. Spanish is the 2nd most common language in the U.S. and it's even more common in California, esp in the area she lives in.
Later Dylan gets his karma starting the end of season 4. Kelly cheats on Dylan with his best friend. Just like Dylan on Brenda with her best friend. When Kelly and Dylan breaks up, it doesnt take that long for Kelly to move on since the next episode she goes to Washington and presue relationship with Dylan's best friend. So much similar when Dylan gets with Kelly once him and Brenda break up.
